Your favourite easter egg.

Spunky

Lovable degenerate.
What is it? It's something that the developers put in the game, That usually has nothing to do with the game.

Grand theft auto 4:

Beating Heart of Liberty City

Fly a copter to the statue of happiness. Jump out of the copter so you land on the highest area with doors. One of the 4 doors will have blood stains on the floor in front of it and 2 signs on either side saying "no hidden content through here". That "door" is actually NOT SOLID. so walk through it to find a ladder. climb the ladder, and you will be face to face with the beating heart of the city! If you shoot it blood will come out.

That was a example my favourite easter egg in a game was featured in Uncharted: Drake's fortune. who put a message in Spanish on a tombstone. When translated, this Spanish message reportedly reads:

“If you are reading this grave, you're a huge nerd. Please get a life and a girlfriend.”

:lmao: How great is that.

The Chris Houlihan Room from Zelda: A Link to the Past.

This is the first Easter Egg that came to mind when I read this thread. I am not sure if many people even know about it today(I'm sure Lee knows about it though), I only found out about it a year ago myself. Nintendo had a contest where the winner would get his/her name mentioned in the next Zelda game, which was ALTTP, and Chris Houlihan(I am not sure if I am spelling it right) won the contest. This became an Easter Egg in the game which was cleverly hidden. In order to find it, you would have to hurry as fast as you can to a cave or grotto immediately after you select your file. If you were fast enough, the cave you went in would change into "Chris Houlihan's Room" which is basically a very small square room with a bunch of blue rupees and a Plaque which said something like "This is Chris Houlihan's Room, Shhhh, it's a secret". It wasn't much, but the fact that someone got to have their name forever etched in the Masterpiece that is ALTTP, is pretty fucking cool if you ask me.

I remember when I used to play Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped almost everyday. Still a great game. the point is that Crash competed with Spyro The Dragon for supremacy on the PS1 platforming stage.

However, Naughty dog, Crash' developers, had a close working relationship with Insomniac, spyro's creators. In a bit of friendly help, Naughty Dog hid a demo of Spyro the Dragon in Crash Bandicoot 3 to encourage gamers to buy it. By pressing the following combination at the main menu you could unlock it

Up,Up,Down,Down,Left,Right,Left,Right,Square.

I remember when I first did it, just messing around with the controller mindlessly. I couldnt believe it, and tried for about 100 times after to try and unlock it. Then my brother showed me this variation of the Contra code. Finally relief!

It was a long time ago,
but I remember someone showing me how on a collecovision
playing the game Smurfs: rescue from gargamels castle (I don't think that is the right name) I think if you go two screens right, then three left, you can see smurfette naked.
It was on youtube for a while then got taken down.

I think for me, it has to be the ones in GTA3, Vice City & San Andreas.

GTA3: Thnk it's the same as San Andres where it says "No Easter Egg here" I think, you find it near one of the parking lots in the middle island.

Vice City: Near one of the helipads on the third section, there's a window which isn't solid, you can jump through and you find an actual easter egg here!

San Andreas: Once you unlock Las Venturas, you can go over the Gant Bridge and on the other side on one of the pillar, it says "No Easter Eggs here", or something similiar, can't remember.

Ther's actually one on Hitman: Blood Money in the mission A murder of crows. I don't realy know how to explain it, since it's rather confusing. But the point is that there's a disco Mr.47 can walk in (disguised of course) and you get him to step on the floor, wait for a while, and he'll start dancing.

Yeah...Mr.47 dancing.

Oh, and there's also a zombie mode in that game too, but I've never tried it.
