x division judges?

Heres an idea that would be innovative for TNA maybe. Instead of having the x-division match be just pinfall or submission, have it be a timed match, and if you ran out of time have 3 judges score the bout for the most highflying moves or crazy spots by a particular wrestler. kind of like a mix of wrestling and the growingly popular MMA. I was thinking there is potential to use old washed up wrestlers as guest judges, you know, the ones we'd kinda like to see every once in a while, but not in the ring. That might help in the ratings dept for people who watch just for a particular wrestler, and at the same time like i said keep them out of the ring.

There could also be a storyline where there are corrupt judges who side with a particular wrestler, or one who is getting paid off, keeping the x title on a heel wrestler so that he has to be either be beaten in the time limit, or have some story that drags out and culminates(pick your turn of events). This would sound to me like one of those storylines you'd love to hate, like youd actually watch every week to hope and see the title come off the particular heel. For example have a heel Robert Roode, who would be very un-entertaining in the x division pay big money to a judge...say Kevin Nash, the guy thats all about gettin paid. Have a high flyer doin all these crazy spots only to have the time expire and loose to a Robert Roode that just stands there and bullies him and clotheslines the guy and suplexes him a few times. Whats everyone think? any potential here?

i hate idiots like the one up there. hope he gets his butt kiked in

on to the topic. i think wcw did something like this when they were still jim Crokket*SP?* was a clash of the champions event in like 88 or 89 not really sure. worked out really well made it seam real

if done properly i really think that TNA could pull this off. just don't think it could be used in EVERY match..use it as a feud ender. example.....Joe now has the title...say that homicide comes out in two weeks just before the next PPV and say that him and hernandez make a vow to win the X-title and world title respectively by the end of the year....keep joe winning month after month by DQ/countout.*kinda like orton right now in wwe* and finally at the December PPV bring in the "Judges" to "score the match" and watch for cheating...that would keep Joe from the heel ways and finally after 4 months of being screwed Homicide goes time limit and wins the title by split decision

bring in the "Judges" to "score the match" and watch for cheating...

At first that seems like a good idea, but then I can't help thinking that, in the match at least, that's what makes a heel a heel. If this did happen, heels would be at a disadvantage and would have to rely on being better, which almost defeats the purpose. That said, as long as it is used sparingly, it would be nice to give the face an advantage for once.

I do think it's a good idea, and could be used elsewhere, not necessarily just in X Division matches, and if used correctly, and not repeatedly (it'd be awful to have a whole PPV of judged matches) it could be an alternative end to a feud that doesn't need a crazy situation; that could be kept as a singles match.

It's a good idea but the problem is that heels have to change their styles to try to score more points and that could make the fans cheer for them. It's sort of like the Kurt Angle philosophy. Sometimes TNA is vague enough as it is with face/heel roles and this could blur the lines even more.

Still a good idea though.

I really don't think it works except as a one time thing in a PPV. Its really not that much different than having the extra ref or special enforcer. It only really works if you want to throw a curve at the end. The match is a time limit draw, we go to the judges. Everyone thinks the face has won but the judges in a surprising twist award it to the heel.

After all, while a heel can win a title in any way, the more controversial the better, but a face on the other has to win cleanly.

I can also see both WWE and TNA in an attempt to gain mainstream media attention having special guest judges. They would go overboard and not get someone from the boxing world or MMA but from entertainment. I can see it now. Tune in to our PPV match featuring special guest judge Simon Cowell or Sharon Osbourne.

No way, this should never happen. There's no reason to change the X-Division, which was built on high flying, exciting, pro wrestling matches, into an MMA rip off. Things like this have been tried before in pro wrestling, and you know why we don't see them anymore? Because they didn't work.

Fans don't want to see judges decision or scoring in a wrestling match. They want to see two wrestlers go at it until someone gets the pin. This may be a creative idea, but it's just too crazy and too far out there to be successful.

they tried that before remember AJ Styles vs. Frank Trigg, it was a clusterfuck the match waa horrible in fact in an MMA style match fans were chanting "we want wrestling" I didn't see it, but I'm assuming that means either those fans were ignorant or it was an insanely stupid attempt to combine MMA with Pro wrestling. It might be ok in a different format but it will most likely fall flat on it's face. Great idea though very original.
