X-Division Champion Expected to be out of Action Due to Injury

ShinChan

Gone. For. Good.
TNA wrestler DJ Z has been wrestling with a broken wrist for the past month, and now he’ll be forced to cancel some appearances due to his injuries getting worse.

The X Division Champion announced his decision on Twitter today saying, “I am injured pretty bad and will be cancelling a number of appearances in November so I can heal up.”

Z went on to say that he can barely walk due to a knee injury as well, but has continued to wrestle — including at this weekend’s Acid Cup in Philadelphia — and it caused his injury to become worse.

It’s unclear exactly how long he’ll be out of action, though he’s hoping to be good in a few weeks. Zema jokingly added, “Plus, between the wrist and the knee, I can barely work out so I’m getting skinny and soft and its pissing me off. I can’t let ppl see me like that.”
That's another bad news for TNA's X-Division.

Plus, I don't get why wrestlers choose to wrestle while knowing that they are injured. Last year, we witnessed Cesaro do so for a couple of months and now DJZ. Such a decision would obviously worsen the injury even more.

I don't know how TNA fares with this. I guess that it might have enough taped content until DJZ recovers from the injury. If not, we could see TNA stripping him off the title.

The titles do move a lot, but DJZ was finally re-asserting himself as a staple of the division as champion. This smarts, not just because it almost assuredly means another fucking tournament to crown a new champion, which signals another divisional reset, but because it really derails the progress Ion was building as a character again.

You're right, sir.

I think that he's the only one left in X-Division with some significant credibility. He had been increasing his credibility as a champion and I hope that TNA doesn't strip him of the title. A tournament again would be something I won't want to see.

Plus Caleb Konley and Marshe Rockett are just waiting to make an impact. Team X Gold is an another bad idea.

Another thing I wanted to mention is that X-Division lacks the star power it boasted about in the past. Not even the champion is a star. Lashley winning and relinquishing it worsened the situation too. There's no star like Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Amazing Red, Chris Sabin and others. TNA needs to make credible X-Division guys if it wants to survive or improve it's condition.

Once Davey Richards returns from injury I think TNA should have him challenging for the X-Division Title.

TNA isn't taping again till January, I don't know if this is long enough for Zema Ion to get sorted but he is a big part of their X-Division, as is Trevor Lee.

Amazing Red and a veteran like Doug Williams would be two great signings that would lift the division.

I guess that depends on where Eddie Edwards is. If he's still the world champion, then a heel turn for Davey Richards is inevitable and thus leads to a feud between the two Wolves be it with title or without.

Last I heard of Amazing Red was that he was going to compete in WWE Cruiserweight Classic but couldn't do so because of an injury. Plus he has his own wrestling promotion. I don't think that we will ever see his return to TNA. Bringing back Motor City Machine Guns would be a nice addition as well. Plus Christopher Daniels/Kazarian.

Nothing against those two teams, but I think if your looking to sign a tag-team then The K.E.S would be a better fit for TNA.

Sabin's injuries have meant he's better sticking as a tag-team specialist. Kaz & Daniels seem happy in ROH.

I had to search about who K.E.S is.

I can see what you intend but those two guys aren't the stars that TNA requires as of now. Their credibility would need to be built in TNA while Sabin, Shelley, Kazarian and Daniels are all accomplished TNA stars.

See Mike Bennett & EC3. The latter is a star. The former is nowhere near being one. TNA doesn't need the former but desperately need the latter.

Man that sucks. DJZ is an absolutely great wrestler in my eyes. Highly underrated and can actually do more than just flippy flops in the ring. Why he was wrestling with a broken wrist I don't know. My guess, money and something he just throughly enjoys doing.

Maybe they can try to push someone else. But just don't do a tournament TNA. Make the title matter more or give it to a possible returning Davey Richard's. Hell, they could build a Champion vs Champion match to see who the better member of The Wolves is. That is the only thing I can come up with.
