Report: Lana Injured & Expected To Be Out For The Rest of 2015

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
It's been confirmed by WWE that Lana suffered an injury to her wrist while working out inside the ring before WWE's house show last night in Fairfax, Virginia. As to what the injury is, WWE doctors revealed that X-rays show that she's suffered a Colles' fracture and will most likely require surgery, putting her out of in-ring action for the next four months. A Colles' fracture is pretty common in wrestling and is most commonly caused by people falling onto a hard surface and breaking their fall with outstretched arms.

Well, this pretty much puts the kibosh on the current storyline with Lana & Summer Rae Getting physical with each other. To be perfectly honest, the whole "cat fight" aspect of this storyline just doesn't appeal to me. I'm sure that there's a more than a fair number of fans, if reactions of the live crowds have been any indication, that enjoy the sight of two leggy blondes in micro miniskirts rolling around on the floor pulling each other's hair. At the same time, all this relationship drama stuff looks to be the focal point of Ziggler's feud with Rusev, so it's not impossible to think they might scrap the feud altogether at this point.

This story was WWE's Claire Lynch, too much bullshit and a story more suited to a reality TV show or Soap with the only one interesting thing about it, the two attractive women. I really hope that Rusev squashes Dolph and WWE just continues with Rusev managed by Summer and they all put this shitty feud behind them

With the injuries to Rusev, Ziggler and now Lana since this storyline started I think Vince should take the hint from God and just scrap the angle to be honest. What a waste it has been of a good tandem of Rusev and Lana but hopefully Rusev can move off to being an ass kicker again and Lana will still be over when she comes back.

This might be a blessing in disguise for women's wrestling on the main roster too. If reports are to be believed that Vince sees Lana as the number one priority in the Divas than she was basically going to be built to get that belt sooner rather than later. She has been training and would have been in the ring soon, I wouldn't have been surprised if she was paired against Nikki for Survivor Series had it gone even remotely well.

Pardon the pun but tough break for Lana. Always bad when you are injured and will miss time but especially in the middle of a s/l.
I hope that the WWE writes in a backstage attack tonight, even if it isn't shown. It will add even more hest onRusev/Summer and provides s/ opurtunties down the line.

Get well soon Lana

Well I certainly wouldn't suggest that I am happy about the injury to Lana, as I wouldn't be happy about injuries to any performer in the company (apparently unlike some of our fellow wrestlezone posters). However, this would apparently suggest the end of this horrific storyline, and I'm really happy about that. If I wanted to see drama of the nature of this storyline, I'd watch Young and the Restless in the daytime instead of RAW in the evening.

The pairing of Lana and Ziggler has never worked for me. At all. I hope that she takes whatever time is necessary to recover from her injury, and then she returns where she belongs: at Rusev's side. Rusev's injury seems to be pretty much behind him. She can return to his side pretty quickly, albeit in a non physical, non wrestling role. And return to being a unique character, an interesting deviation from the rest of the divas. I would rather see a vocal heel Lana, who gets physically involved in action once she is physically cleared to do so, rather than seeing her as the prototypical diva, catfighting around the ring in a miniskirt.

I'm consistently amazed at the number of people who complain about this angle, while at the same time probably thinking that the Attitude Era was awesome. Angles like this are exactly what the WWE needs. Actual stories with drama that the audience can become invested in. Every week this angle gets a huge reaction from the fans, so personal opinions of people on these forums aside, the story is working tremenously well. Wrestling is an action tv show with soap opera elements. That is the nature of the genre, especially the WWE. Hulk Hogan was even involved in a love triangle story back in the fucking 80s.

That being said, the injury is unfortunate because it limits where the story can go. It has to be frustrating for Lana, but it's probably equally frustrating for the writers. I think the ultimately the resolution of this angle has to be Lana turning on Ziggler and aligning with Rusev again, setting up one final blow off match between Rusev and Ziggler. Rusev goes over with Lana by his side, and moves on to challenge Ryback for the IC Title.

ITA with you. I don't think this angle has been bad at all. I thought it made seanse, it built and creative seemed to have a plan from start to finish. It had a very Attitude Era-ish feel to it.It wasn't perfect but it worked for me

I am so confused by this. Lana needs her wrist for what? Escort Dolph to the ring, escort dolph away from the ring. Talk on Camera, cry on Camera.... she has been in what 2-5 altercations and she is already hurt, Look like the Dolph Ziggler disease is contagious.

How does a very limited, very boring and plain jane honey pot need to be out of "walk down the Isle" action. Give me a damn break.

Lana is a very boring character. She was never needed for anything even when she was with Rusev. Now is the time to scrap her whole character and repackage her, or release her. Whatever works.

That is a shame. Lana was the most over of the four involved in that bizarre Rusev VS Ziggler angle. Part of me hopes that this will be the end of that, but I have a feeling Rusev and Summer Rae will keep bringing this up until Lana does return. Then we get the Lana VS Summer match we should have already gotten, as the girls' conflict was far more interesting than Dolph VS Rusev was ever going to be. This is a sign that they should just end that angle already. I may be speaking too soon though. Watch it get even more complicated on Raw tonight....

Why does she need to be "out for the rest of 2015?" As in "physical use," or are we not gonna see her at all? Why can't she just come to the ring with the wrist bandaged up? They could sell it as Summer Rae or Rusev "hurting" her during a previous altercation. I don't see why she has to be taken off TV completely.

The "Dolph Ziggler disease" of being injured once in a 9 year career? Yeah, he's sure injury-prone. What a tool.

I agree with this. That's a good way to give Rusev and Summer a little extra heat, by showing the fans that they were the one's that hurt Lana.

I personally wouldn't mind this story line, if I didn't think it would do Rusev any favors going forward. This story has been about Lana vs Rusev from the beginning. Which would not be a problem if WWE were planning on Lana and Rusev getting back together in the long haul, but it does not seem that way. And if that is the case then I expect Lana to be elevated like crazy, while Rusev gets totally shafted. Which of course would totally suck.

I don't know if I should be amazed or depressed. Why the fuck do we send people to medical school for a decade to become doctors when we have people who are able to diagnose what someone's capable of based on reading a report on a professional wrestling news site?

It's either a lot of wasted time and money, or no one bothered to read the really really fine print on the Affordable Care Act that says "your doctor may be a 15-year old kid who diagnoses your illness based on message board posts".

The whole feud is a crap. It might have looked in the beginning that this can be an entertaining feud owing to the popularity of Lana with the WWE universe and the red hot form of Dolph Ziggler. But WWE just over used it and made a lame statement out of it. Rusev is an amazing talent, he shouldn't be the part of this cat fight script.

In my verdict, Lana does lack the wrestling abilities. It does take a great deal of time for an actress to transform into a wrestler. In this context, I've to agree that she was an acrobatic athlete or whatever but she certainly isn't a wrestler.

She should really step off from the idea of becoming a Diva and should focus on the other things just like being a valet or a manager. And WWE should drop this feud do something more productive with Dolph Ziggler and Rusev.

Cheers!!

I'll echo what others seem to be saying.

What's wrong with being a manager? Not everyone in WWE should be wrestling. Majority, yes. But think of Sherri, Miss Elizabeth, Terri Runnels, etc. Now Terri would later grace the ring in bra and panties matches but it did nothing for her. Why not look at the success and impact they had on the wrestler or teams they were with? Good managers are a powerful thing and Rusev rose to be a star when he had Lana with him. They were (I think still are) a couple in real life so their chemistry and connection was great.

Lana is great at what she does. I don't think she needs to be in the ring so wrap it up, don't use her wrist or whatever, and move on with what was working before.

Get back to the days of a good manager.

Clearly Lana is going to come back early in a cowboy hat and chaps and start using the cast to help Dolph get wins.

I am bored with this story one week then I really enjoy it the next. This news of her injury is very unfortunate. One of the biggest draws I have to Raw right now is seeing when and if Lana will show some legit ring skills beyond the quick hits and cat fights.

They might do that if they can think of a way to make a lasting program from it. The problem is that Lana and Summer are the ones driving this feud, not Rusev and Dolph. When you think of it, that's a really strange strategy for a WWE program......and it revolves around the gals being able to roll around the mat in short skirts, which is now impossible.

Think about it.....are you really that interested in watching Rusev feud with Dolph? As I see it, Rusev should be quite a bit higher on the totem pole and I believe he'd be fighting people near main event level if he hadn't gotten injured and wound up in this silly feud. Even so, he's handling it better than I ever thought he could. The gentle smile on his face as he 'forgave' Summer last night was terrific; if the company is to continue this program with Lana not involved, it will be driven by Rusev sooner than Dolph 'The Human Pinball' Ziggler.

It's a shame about Lana, though. If she is gone for the rest of the year, she'll have to start all over in 2016.

I hope the storyline does get scrapped, maybe after one match to conclude this feud. This has to be one of the worst angles I've seen in a long time, which is a shame because Ziggler and Rusev are two very talented workers who could have easily stole the show everytime they faced each other.

Ziggler deserves much better and a guy like Rusev should never be involved in a love story or soap opera type angle, ever. I have a feeling that Vince was very hands on with this storyline.

Surely WWE can still use Lana, even with a damaged wrist? She'll likely be wearing a cast for a while but that wouldn't stop her being used in an on-screen managerial role, it would just prevent her actually wrestling a match. She could still do exactly what she does the majority of the time now.

If they wanted her to be "physical" in some way, just have Summer Rae jump her and "put the boots" to her while she's on the floor, that wouldn't put her wrist in any danger at all, especially if it's in a cast, and would get Summer and Rusev some great heat.
