New World Champion... Again?

By Rebecca Serra

Professor Steven Kurtesy finally captured the WZCW World Heavyweight Championship after taking down the future Hall of Famer Titus on Meltdown 68 with Meltdown General Manager and leader of the Apostles of Chaos Ty Burna as the special guest referee. Kurtesy received his title shot initially from the WZCW Roulette where he faced Titus on Aftershock 3 for the title but ended in a draw, resulting in Ty Burna making the rematch. We were able to catch up with the Professor for comments during his celebration party the same night he won the championship:

"To be quite honest, I was a little wary of the presence of Ty Burna in the match calling the shots considering how I've been a thorn in the Apostles' side for a few weeks prior but I'm surprised he called the match down the middle and even counting the pinfall in my favour once he decided to start doing his job. I can't not say that I'm ecstatic and happy to win the belt because for everyone who wins a championship for the first time would be but the curse that this belt has had since Ty Burna's reign is worrying. The Lottery is coming up in a couple of weeks with my first title defense and I don't want to lose it in two weeks like the previous 3 champions have. I'm going to do the best I can to keep this belt around my waist... preferably to at least Kingdom Come because I would love to main event this year's 4th anniversary with the winner of the Lottery. That'd be an amazing adrenaline rush. We'll just have to wait and see come the Lottery."

Kurtesy has become the fourth man to win the World Championship in two months with the longest reign thus far coming from Big Dave at three weeks, who lost his title to Barbosa cashing in his King For a Day briefcase. The following week at the All or Nothing PPV, Titus won the championship off Barbosa in a Triple Threat Elimination match. With the Lottery approaching, can Kurtesy successfully defend his championship against his opponent and former champion Barbosa in a Steel Cage match. If Kurtesy does retain, this will mark the first official World Title defense since Apocalypse where Ty Burna defeated Austin Reynolds. Otherwise, expecting the Chaos to reign supreme heading into Kingdom Come with Barbosa as World Champion.

Lethal Lottery Expands in Size: Considers Going on Diet

By Leon Kensworth

WZCW is going back to its roots with the Lethal Lottery match as it has once again increased its size from 25 men competing to 30 men, sharing the same number of men to enter the Lottery as the company's inaugural debut of the event. Chuck Myles, personal assistant to Ty Burna, incorrectly calculated the amount of spots available for the original 25 man design by allowing a 26th man to enter the match. Ty and Ascension General Manager Vance Bateman discussed and decided on the idea to allow another 5 men to enter the Lottery to counter-act Myles mistake. WZCW Magazine was able to get a comment from Chuck about the incident, revealing something very interesting about the current backstage atmosphere with the owners of WZCW:

"It was an easy and simple mistake that anyone could have made in my position, considering everything that's been going on. How do you think I feel in this situation? I'm the 'errand boy' of Ty who is currently fighting with Vance for power over WZCW. Can you imagine the meetings and the fights that I have to put up with? I'm the only one making sense out of the three yet they ignore my input. One moment they tell me to set up the Lottery qualifying matches and the next minute they change it all around leaving me to cope with the leftovers. The stress got to me and I didn't use the mathematics correctly."

Myles was able to release us information on the current state of the Lethal Lottery match concerning which superstars are qualified for the match and how they managed to get there:

Winning Matches

  • Mr. Baller - #30 Entry
  • "Showtime" Cougar
  • Celeste Crimson
  • Wasabi Toyota
  • Blade
  • Mick Overlast
  • Scott Hammond
  • Saboteur
  • S.H.I.T.
  • Jack Skinner
  • Action Saxton
  • Alexander Steele
  • Drake Callahan
  • Phoenix
  • Brad Bomb
  • Triple X

Losing Matches

  • Matt Tastic - #1 Entry

"All Champions" Rule

  • Steven Holmes (Elite champion)
  • Black Dragon (EurAsian champion)
  • Ricky Runn (Tag Team champion)
  • Austin Reynolds (Tag Team champion)
  • Justin Cooper (Mayhem champion)

Automatic Ruling by General Manager

  • Ty Burna - Approved by himself
  • Constantine - Reversed decision from Ascension 43
  • Titus - Approved by Bateman
  • Everest - Approved by Bateman (last minute addition)

Withdrawn + Replacements

  • Chris Beckford - replaced by Dr. Alhazred
  • Sam Smith

Thus far, there are 27 spots already taken out of the current 30. 3 open spots still remain for the Lottery yet there has been no announcement of any further qualification matches for the future. It has been confirmed that there will be no Aftershock before the Lethal Lottery and the only matches confirmed for the PPV card other than the Lottery match are all championship contests. We tried reaching Vance and Ty for further discussion on the matter but could not be reached for comment. When we asked Myles, he refused to comment on the issue. However, he did re-assure the positions of those in the Lottery:

"Everyone who has currently qualified for the Lottery will not lose their spots as the participants have been set in stone."

We here at WZCW Magazine wish good luck to all the participants in the Lethal Lottery. We also want to re-assure that the Lethal Lottery will not be going on a diet as inanimate objects cannot physically eat. It was a way to make a joke out of the current headline which I thought was funny. It was funny, wasn't it? Please let everyone know of Leon Kensworth's ability to perform stand-up comedy. I perform at whichever local comedy club still allows me inside.

Oh yeah... look at that image to introduce myself and my article. It's a thing of brilliance, innit? Before I had some crappy image of me wearing a shirt that was somehow offensive to our female readers (really... we have women that are interested in WZCW let alone a magazine?) and the editorial guys type up the name of the article in some outdated Times New Roman font or something like that. Now we can slap some image up and BAM we start the greatest WZCW article in existence. Who cares about that ye old royale bastard or that guy who never revealed his name to "protect his image" when you've got the sexiest man alive, "Smart" Mark Lemming?

For an informative article about the inside world of WZCW, we've started on a great step, haven't we? Let's get into the issues then but I must warn you: I've been kept in complete darkness heading into the Lethal Lottery PPV because the guys upstairs don't want me revealing any of their "big" secrets. I mean, c'mon, we know the Lottery isn't completely full and there are going to be surprise entries... you don't have to be brush the discussion aside but I'll tell which discussion isn't going to brushed aside:

So Much Stuff: So Little Time

What a great transition there Mark. Wonderfully executed... anyway:

Since the last time I wrote an article, there has been a ton of stuff that's happened in the world of WZCW that a man nearing an age you'd expect me to be couldn't handle in one huge clump. Last time we were celebrating Barbosa cashing in his King for a Day briefcase to win the World title and now we've got Kurtesy being featured as the champion, completely skipping out on Titus. Ty Burna has become the new General Manager of Meltdown, his Legion of Chaos has sacked a member of staff and converted three more people to his "cause." On top of the Chaos stable, we've got the Sons of Destiny, Holmes and Constantine forming an alliance like proper politicians would as well as Saboteur and Saxton becoming best buddies... and don't even get me started on this supposed Chaos Rebellion faction that switches members more frequently than a swingers party. I know it's the Lottery and we've recently had the unpredictable Roulette rounds that have passed but I mean... can we at least apply some sort of pressure on the brakes? There is honestly too much hitting the face of viewers and if we pace ourselves, we can construction a proper path towards Kingdom Come. For example, if you were to ask me who'd be fighting for the Mayhem title around the time of All or Nothing I would have bet that it would be Sean Cruz taking on his rival Armando Paradyse to end their feud in an epic Mayhem battle. Who is it now? Justin Cooper against someone random in an Open Challenge. At this rate, we'll be seeing a Mayhem Championship Scramble happening again at Kingdom Come considering how many new guys are flooding the rosters.

That's also another thing: it seems like every time WZCW hosts a show, there seems to be at least one person who won't be there for the next round... and every few rounds, we cover the people the company lost plus extra's. Let's take a look: we acquired five completely new wrestlers for Aftershock and lost a total of four men. It's like WZCW is trying to cut its costs by getting rid of higher paid wrestlers for more wrestlers all who have low salaries. I love competition and seeing new guys make a name for themselves but how on Earth are we going to keep people who bring enough star power to attract crowds and get the new guys over? No wonder everyone is joining a faction or making alliances because the singles titles are in shambles right now concerning contenders (Gordito, a main event guy who challenges for the World title going for Elite gold?) why not go for the Tag Titles which remain mainly dormant?

I'm not saying I'm hating how the current landscape is shaping to be as it does provide excitement for many with how fast its going but I think the brakes need to be applied. I have a feeling that we'll see it happen once we have a Lethal Lottery winner and a World champion. There is so much to prepare for heading into Kingdom Come like the main event, the Chamber, who challenges for what titles and what other matches are going to be filling out the card. Maybe I should go out backstage and be the middle man between two wrestlers who need to feud and star pointing fingers... I'm kind of liking a Saboteur vs. Chris K.O. feud but I heard its being planned for Kingdom Come 28 or something... talk about foreshadowing!

Other Trending News Topics

Look at this... first a rant and now I've been resorted to polishing off the rest the company's news that they couldn't be arsed to put in the headlines? I told you I was being kept in the dark... no inside news for me whatsoever! It's complete bollocks... well, at least they've got me doing the Lethal Lottery previews as well later on in the magazine.

Ty Becomes MD GM:
I think I've mentioned this with Ty buying out Chuck Myles share of WZCW to become the owner and thus General Manager of Meltdown, yeah? Looks like Ty's recent attempts at getting the World title don't seem to be in his favour so he decided to do the next best thing and get another rush of power by becoming a man who controls the company. For someone who is able to make matches on the spot, I can't believe he hasn't booked himself in a title match yet with unfair advantages for the champ, or even strip the champ. Maybe Vance might have something to do with that but he's got Myles by his side at his disposal... why not find a loophole? I guess its up to Ty with what he does with his new-found power... but I think we should probably keep praying that he just wants to out-do Vance as a better businessman. I feel really sorry for Myles though... the guy just wanted a vacation and now he's in-between the two people he wanted to avoid.

Roulette Rounds Considered a Success:
The whole randomness completely surprised everyone with who came back and how the matches turned out. I was marking out personally as Celeste Crimson came back to take down Skinner in her own domain. Phoenix and Wasabi were some pretty cool comebacks as well although their attitude when returning was less than spectacular... but Drake Callahan? That threw me off guard. I loved how he and Phoenix tore the roof down with their match. An excellent performance by both men. The Main event over on Meltdown seemed rigged as hell with Dragon teaming with K.O. to take on Ty and Barbosa. I didn't expect Ty to get K.O. involved though which was a good change of pace. The Elite X title match was awesome to see too between two sides of the English class system. Good thing I'm middle-class, aye? The World title match over on Aftershock was a huge thing to see, especially for that show. You'd think the Mayhem title match was the ME but nope... World title time! There was a rumour going around on the inside that the match was rigged because the guy who did the randomisation had an agenda... I believe it's rubbish but a name of a bird was mentioned when I snooped around looking for the person who did it. Leads are lost though so I wouldn't bother chasing that up.

----------------------------------------

Well, this is where I end my article this week. I know its not much but its what I could do with I could work with. I did miss the Fantaboulous 15 but you can check that stuff out later in the magazine, as well as the Lethal Lottery previews as well. Don't forget to read that as I found it fun to talk about. Anyways... this is au revoir for me and the Insider's Report.

A Look At The Life Elite
By Johnny Klamor

When I visited the Holmes compound earlier this year, it was clear that Steven Holmes had big plans for his reign as the then Elite X Championship. He didn’t disclose anything, but it was obvious. So I watched Meltdown Madness, Ascension Anarchy and Aftershock Insanity with the greatest of attention as Holmes successfully defended his championship and revealed a new design for his championship. Holmes even had the belt renamed after himself; the “Elite Championship”. In Holmes’ eyes this was a reminder to everyone that he is the “Elite” in WZCW.

Holmes’ compound located in the Washington D.C. area is a scary place in terms of scale and design. It was originally built to house the Crashin Movement in its entirety, but as they split off from each other, Holmes purchased the building and recast it for himself, much like the championship. To say Holmes likes to remind you he has money is an understatement. Hell, there’s even a large portrait of the man hanging above his already daunting fireplace. Holmes is all about flash and intimidation. It creates a mystique around him that few can get past. I’d suggest that’s why he’s been on a proverbial roll as of late.

Talking to the man offers very little to detract from that mystique as well. He answers in well constructed and carefully plotted sentences that don’t reveal everything, but do reveal enough. His voice has an enticing quality to it that drags you deeper into his world, but can turn on you with a vile sting at any moment. His face is rich with contortions and twists that could tell a story in their own right. And when he gets excited...you just have to simply observe as he emphasises everything and practically salivates everywhere. He’s passionate in the very least.

Recently Holmes has dropped some weight and added new moves to his repertoire, and indicator that he is always looking to better himself, and further distance himself from those he deems “unworthy”. One particular addition to his arsenal, a top rope suplex is highly reminiscent of Big Dave’s “Spider Suplex”. This is no coincidence. Holmes gets some sort of pleasure from the notion that Big Dave is watching on the injured list, being forced to watch Holmes butcher his own manoeuvre.

Intimidating is the word I’d use to sum up Holmes, but it’s not only his physical presence that does that, but his psychological one too. There is always a sense that Holmes is close to the edge and that he enjoys torturing his foes; much as he did with Big Dave. Currently he seems to be at odds with Gordito, and I’d much rather be in my own shoes than his. Whether its during their collision in one-on-one competition or their clash in the Lethal Lottery match, one thing’s for certain; Holmes will enjoy the battle and relish his chance to take out “The Dirty One”.

In the spirit of the Lottery season and with the already heavy emphasis of the PPV, I thought I'd join the overflowing bandwagon and dedicate this week's Old School reviews to figuring out of all the matches that have ever occurred during the Lottery, which were the five greatest and compile them in order. I honestly wanted to showcase the 10 top greatest Lottery moments in history but there is a non-Lottery match that has always stayed in my heart forever and I can't ignore a chance to review that, can I? So, without further ado:

The Five Greatest Lethal Lottery matches

Disclaimer: each column that I will be producing for this magazine has undergone extensive review and research to make a plausible and fair conclusion, mixed with my own experiences watching as a fan. If you have any queries or opinions, you can send them to me and I will be sure to get back to you during the next issue detailing how incorrect you are.

Oh... and this time, I'm going in ascending order from number 5 as requested.

5. The 1st Lethal Lottery match

edge1.jpg

The inaugural debut comes in at number five here as 30 men... well, more like 28 if you don't count E2 and Sincade not even making it to the match... battle it out with each other to compete for the chance to main event at the first ever Kingdom Come PPV. The atmosphere in the Skydome was amazing as the fans have never seen anything like this match before and to witness it first hand is a memory to cherish forever. There was a lot going on in this match that even some of the wrestlers had no clue how to strategise themselves and went for it although they ended up getting eliminated for trying to end things fast. Looking back at this match was quite funny compared to the present day Lotteries. This was the year where the huge Sumo known as Manzo dominated for about a 1/3 of the match, going as far as obliterating Sincade to pieces throughout the entire backstage area. This ultimately led to his demise in the match as it took every man in the match at that point to eliminate the big man. If he didn't let his personal feelings get in the way, he would've won the Lottery... although it would have been a boring Lottery to have Manzo eliminate everyone from spot number 3 and win the entire thing... it's a good thing that Big Will came out on top despite coming in at number 8 and previously competing in a Three Stages of Hell match for the Elite X title involving Cages and Ladders. His efforts of going through that match clocked him at being the longest time for an individual to compete in the Lottery, taking out the favorite Steamboat Ricky in order to capture the win... which is why I used the infamous photo of Big Will's excitement after winning the Lottery rather than the actual poster to introduce this description.

Match Moments:

  • Manzo eliminating 7/8 people in a row
  • 7 men eliminating Manzo
  • Big Will's winning from #8
  • Sincade being destroyed

4. Lethal Lottery III: Ty Burna vs. Gordito vs. Barbosa - World Title

LethalLottery2-World.jpg

This was a title match that wowed the audience right from the get-go where Ty Burna was hitting his mid-way point of his amazing one year title run and considered to be the fan favorite of the entire roster (figure that one out) and had to go up against two new competitors in the forms of Gordito (a protege of Ty's) and Barbosa (a man who Ty didn't consider any sort of ally at all). What a year has changed now as Ty is one of the most hated men of the roster with Barbosa as his buddy yet wants nothing to do with Gordito... but back last year, the crowd was really getting behind Burna and his dominating performance over the roster. Barbosa was still relatively an unknown warrior, making his antics and possibilities of performing such a real threat to Ty's reign... who honestly came closer than anyone else I've seen challenge Ty. However, there was one point during the match where I nearly gave up all hope for Barbosa winning as he played around in the middle of the ring like a cat chasing some yarn around. The match was intense the entire way through with all three men switching momentum faster than they could gain momentum, finally ending up with Ty Burna hitting a Consecrated Banishment from the top rope and locking in his patent submission hold to end the contest... something we haven't seen Ty do in quite a long time and possibly won't ever see in a long while again.

Match Moments:

  • Super Consecrated Banishment
  • Barbosa playing with Gordito's limp arm to stop Ty from winning via submission
  • Ty joins in with Barbosa to distract him
  • Gordito opens up Barbosa with headbutts
  • Barbosa tries putting the blood back into his open wound
  • Barbosa almost peels Gordito's face off
  • Long ending sequence of finishers

3. The 2nd Lethal Lottery match

LethalLottery-LL.jpg

The proverbial middle child of the past three Lotteries ranks up as number three on my list. Although it was disappointing to see that the Lottery was down 10 men from the previous event, the stars that managed to make their way into the match gave us a great entertaining match with some of the best comical moments alongside personal rivalries and feuds flaring up during the contest. When the Full House Daves squared off once more against Second Coming during the bout, the hearts of all the fans watching were racing at the adrenaline rush of seeing these two classic teams doing battle... or when the Ricky World Order faced off against their nemesis Titus, doing everything they can to prevent him to get the spot at Kingdom Come. This is what made this Lottery special... you could almost feel the passion being emitted from these men. Even with Mr. Baller who came into the match to a thunderous silence and tried to gain a pinfall to win the match... that was funny but his heart was in the right place, although Rafael de la Noche's 2 second participation was plain embarrassing and took this match down a bit. And who can forget Carmen Bratchny starting from spot 3 and going all the way to the end as the final two when he went up against Titus, going down swinging as Titus eliminated him from the match. This was a Lottery to remember for sure and honestly, my personal favorite of the three despite Titus winning.

Match Moments:

  • Mr. Baller attempting a pinfall
  • FHD vs. Second Coming
  • rWo's dominance
  • Rafael de la Noche lasting 2 seconds
  • Carmen's epicly long run in the match
  • Sanna returns as a surprise entrant
  • Karnage vs. Blade aftermath during the match
  • Titus finally winning the big one

2. Lethal Lottery II: Everest vs. Lars Reidar in a Buried Alive match - World title

LethalLottery-World.jpg

This is a match that deserves to be in anyone's best of Lottery lists... hell, even the best of World title matches. Lars Reidar and Everest were considered the two greatest forces heading into the Lottery: a match between the immovable object and the unstoppable force. To top things off, they compete in a sadistic match where one man had to bury the other alive in order to win and defend their championship. These two men didn't hold anything back as they went for each other like a shark that smells blood in the water. Lars Reidar was the powerful menace, cracking Everest straight into concrete that almost broke the legend in half, forcing Everest to perform as a hi-flier during the match to gain an advantage including performing a springboard crossbody off a steel chair into the crowd as well as jumping into a merchandise table onto Lars who was wearing an Everest t-shirt. This match made these men do crazy things but the winning factor was the dirt that Everest threw into the eyes of Lars along with a well-placed Rock Slide into the 6-feet deep hole that Everest eventually buried Lars in.

Match Moments:

  • Springboard crossbody off a steel chair
  • Everest diving into Reidar wearing an Everest shirt
  • Reidar slamming Everest into the concrete
  • Everest throwing dirt into Reidar's eyes
  • Rock Slide into grave
  • Everest driving a bulldozer and using a shovel

1. The 3rd Lethal Lottery match

LethalLottery2-Lottery.jpg

The first match was known for its debut and dominance by certain individuals whereas the most recent one was known for its surprises and upsets, completely swerving all the smarks out there who "knew" that WZCW was booking a certain individual to win the entire thing. The looks on everyone's faces when "Showtime" Cougar emerged victorious from the match was priceless and I couldn't stop laughing for 10 minutes. There was a little girl in the crowd who was a huge Big Dave supporter and she was fuming at the fact that Cougar won: the best photo of a fan I've seen ever:

Angry-Miz-Girl_TOPSPORTSBLOG.jpg

Awesome, huh? Anyway... there was a lot of determined wrestlers in this match and most of the eliminations occurred during the end of the match. A lot of guys from the start managed to hang in there for a long time and wrestled for many minutes although none have managed to beat Big Will's record. Everyone put their heart and soul into this match, except for Mr. Baller who came into the match as cocky as ever and even eliminated Justin Cooper from the match using his basketball. I was shocked that Baller stepped up his game from last year with that shot, eliminating someone I thought Cooper could easily take care of. Celeste Crimson returning at number 17 was HUGE where even I was on my feet when she was in the ring wrestling. She didn't last long but boy did her appearance turn some heads... nothing turned more heads than the Reynolds vs. Showtime Powertrip feud that was featured throughout the match where it was nothing but a bitter blood feud. Both teams completely wrecked each other, taking out the announcer's table and some steel chairs. It was an amazing performance for all men but Showtime ended up with the victory, something that would go on to feature the last chapter in the books of Ty and Showtime rivalry.

Match Moments:

  • Mr. Baller's basketball eliminates Justin Cooper
  • Celeste Crimson returns
  • Barbosa takes out Tucker Graham to compete
  • Reynolds/Showtime/Constantine blood feud
  • Showtime beats the favorite Big Dave to win (shocking the world)

---------------------------------

I hope you've enjoyed this magazine's edition of my reviews and if you don't well then I don't care because I certainly had fun going into the past to review one of my favorite events, the Lethal Lottery. It's a good thing I'm not doing much at the PPV because I'll be enjoying the fourth match as much as you.

2011
End of the Year Awards

The year 2011 was filled with a large amount of great moments. The WZCW Creative Staff asked the entire roster to vote on which of these moments that they deemed worthy of winning individual awards. Here are the results for the 2011 EOTY awards. We apologize with the delay in presentation.

Best Wrestler of 2011

Ty Burna

In what can be described simply as a year of dominance. Ty Burna recorded a year long winning streak and an even more impressive year long WZCW World Heavyweight Title reign. Now, by starting off the year as the new co-owner of WZCW, one can only imagine that Ty Burna is heading towards another year of dominance.

Worst Wrestler of 2011

Doug Crashin

The only way that Doug Crashin could really win anything was if he had people steal it for him. In 2011, Crashin has become synonymous with “fail” in the WZCW locker room.

Best Storyline of 2011

The King for a Briefcase Saga

Big Dave began the WZCW season by coming off a victory at Kingdom Come and a KFAD briefcase in hand. He tussled with Hunter Kravinoff and nearly lost the darn thing too him. Unfortunately, by a turn of events Big Dave did finally lose the case to Barbosa. Ironically, Barbosa successfully cashed it on in Big Dave himself.

Worst Storyline of 2011

Hunter Kravinoff Lost in the Woods

Kravinoff vs. Big Dave was a hot topic in the early WZCW season, but it all fell to pieces when something unexpected happened. Big Dave dumped Kravinoff into the woods and we never saw him again!

Best Match of the Year 2011

4-Way Hell in a Cell (Unscripted)

This match marked the beginning of something different. Despite the aid of his apostles, Ty Burna’s year long WHC title reign was snapped by Big Dave. The moment was glorious and began a chaotic hot potato scene that surrounded the WHC all together.

Worst Match of the Year 2011

Austin Reynolds vs. S.H.I.T.

It finally happened, S.H.I.T. debuted in exciting fashion. A green rookie was set to take on the man who headlined the first two PPVs of the WZCW season. However, something went horribly wrong whenever one of the companys top stars lost this young and unknown wrestler.

Best PPV of the Year 2011

Kingdom Come III

The PPV itself was filled with glorious dream matches and pulsating action. We capped it all off with Ty Burna vs. Showtime for the WHC. It is a match that is still talked about to this very day.

Worst PPV of the Year 2011

Apocalypse

After Kravinoff recently departing and overall lull that swept the WZCW locker room, the Apocalypse build fell short enough that fans voted it the worst PPV of the year 2011.

Best Meltdown/Ascension of the Year 2011

Meltdown 61

Three words: Saboteur beats Burna.

Worst Meltdown/Ascension of the Year 2011

Meltdown 60

Four words: Saboteur didn’t beat Burna.

Tag Team of the Year 2011

Forgotten Powers

This team was hot, and I am talking hot. Unfortunately, Alhazred endured a damaging car crash that put him out of commission. Luckily, he returned and reformed the Powers under the Apostles brand. As of now, James King is on the injured list and one has to wonder if we will ever see this powerful duo again.

Moment of the Year 2011

Big Dave Wins the World Heavyweight Title

It had to be the most glorious moment to ever happen in recent memory. Big Dave had lost the KFAD earlier in the year, but made up for it by snapping Ty Burna’s reign. The moment may have been short lived, but it is forever engraved into the WZCW.

Title Reign of the Year 2011

Ty Burna (WHC)

No one had ever faced tougher opponents or went through more trials than Burna did in 2011. With each win, he deeply carved his name into the stone wall that is the WZCW.

Feud of the Year 2011

Ty Burna vs. Austin Reynolds

This feud had all the makings of a great one. Surprises and great bouts at every corner. What really made it memorable was the apparent Reynolds heel turn that swerved into Ty Burna taking back his spot on the throne of chaos.

Best RP of the Year 2011

Big Dave at Unscripted

It was one of the best performances of his life, and it came at an opportune time too. It was the RP that changed everything.

Title Win of the Year 2011

Big Dave Wins the WHC

Voted best match on what was voted the second best PPV, and contained the best RP. Need I say more?

Rookie of the Year (Debuted after Kingdom Come)

Saboteur

Never before had we seen such a beautiful combination of comedy and action. Not to mention that he snapped Ty Burna’s year long winning streak. That counts too.

Breakthrough Performance of the Year 2011

Mr. Baller

From being beheaded to being #30 in this year’s Lethal Lottery. Mr. Baller even competed in what was voted as the best match of the year. He truly stepped up his game and took his skill set to a whole other level.

Favorite Match Writer of 2011

Falkon & Funkay

A shared title by two awesome hardworking guys. Congratulations to them both.

Favorite RPer of the Year 2011

Action Saxton

Dropping suckas and romancing ladies! Action Saxton ran through WZCW in 2011 with extreme charisma and captured the hearts of the WZCW roster.

Best Use of a NPC 2011

Ty Burna (Serafina)

Ty used Serafina as a significant tool in several of his RPs. He bended her and molded her into what he needed her to be and it worked extremely well.

Lemming: No I called you Aunty Alhazred.

Alhazred: Oh... okay. Well hello there friends and foes! So for some reason the writers of this here magazine thought it would be a good idea for the smartest man in the universe to predict who will come out victorious at this year’s Lethal Lottery. Wow, how many people said no before you got to me? Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Lemming: And I've got to do triple duty... lazy bastards.

Alhazred: Just so you know Mark, these aren’t predictions, this is what WILL happen at the Lethal Lottery.

Lemming: Alright then let's fire this baby away!

------------------------------------------------

Lemming: Last match to be officially announced and signed to the card, possibly the first to kick off the proceedings... it's the Mayhem Open Challenge!

Alhazred: Hey! I was in one of these open challenge thingys last year except it was for the Eurasian Championship and it had me in it, so it was a million times better than this match could ever hope to be.

Lemming: Justin Cooper defeated the former champion Armando Paradyse during the Roulette rounds as he won the number one contendership spot prior to All or Nothing. This impressive Mayhem competitor has issued out an Open Challenge to anyone who thinks they can topple him for the title yet does not have a position on the Lottery card, continuing a tradition of the event.

Alhazred: Who are the challengers?

Lemming: The list of possible challengers include Ace Ste...

Alhazred: Actually, they can look it up themselves. I can't be bothered mentioning every name.

  • Ace Stevens
  • Alexander Stark
  • Darren Bull
  • Hiro Kota Koji
  • James Howard
  • Joe West
  • Johnny Scumm
  • Mikey Stormrage
  • Stevenson Marquel

Lemming: Cooper definitely has a range...

Alhazred: Boring... let's just skip to the prediction and since I have to make one, I’ll just throw out a random name… um… Ace Stevens, I guess. Why? Because he has a name that just makes me feel like yelling “OH!”. Now I may not know the challengers but I know the champion; Justin Cooper. Cooper and his High Society have been on a big roll lately, destroying everyone he faces on After Shock since the show started, plus his last name sounds like Koopa and that makes me smile. It’s going to take a strong effort to topple Cooper from his Mayhem throne and I just don’t see Ace Stevens or any of the other challengers being able to get the job done in the end.

Alhazred's Prediction: Justin Cooper

Lemming: Next we have the Tag Team Championships up for grabs as the fan favorites and the current champs Ricky Runn and Austin Reynolds must defend their titles against the hungry Sons of Destiny, Scott Hammond and Mick Overlast.

Alhazred: Ah my old stomping grounds, the tag division. RNR has been a staple in the Tag Division since the Forgotten Powers took their break, winning the gold from Mind Over Matter.

Lemming: Here we have two teams with two completely different styles: Runn Reynolds Runn featuring the hi-flying antics across the different generations of wrestling whilst the S.O.D. prefer the more traditional form. For the RRR Express, it isn't their first time tangling with a traditional wrestling team as they took down and retired the Mind Over Matter under English Rules to take the belts in the first place at All or Nothing so they have the experience, not to mention Austin's reign as Elite X champion and World title matches.

Alhazred: Reynolds is as experienced has they come, dominating every step of the ladder here in WZCW and it’s been rubbing off on Ricky.

Lemming: However, we shouldn't count out the S.O.D. as...

Alhazred: Let me stop you there. The Sons of Destiny are a bunch of losers and are more known for sticking their nose in AoC business than anything else (at least to me). They might have Blade as their leader and as much as I despise that man and his little cohorts, I can’t deny the wealth of knowledge that man contains and will be giving to an already seasoned tag vet in Scott Hammond and little Micky... but he's not in the match and I see Runn Reynolds Runn picking up the win and retaining their titles here.

Alhazred's Prediction: Runn Reynolds Runn

Lemming: This is a feud that just popped up suddenly and unexpectedly one night when Gordito was at the worse end of an assault by Steven Holmes who mercilessly beat him backstage for reasons that were unknown with his newly crowned "Elite" championship.

Alhazred: Stevey, Stevey, Stevey, what have you gotten yourself into? Sure you are a technical master but are you forgetting who you’re facing? Gordito is a former Mayhem Champion and knows how to use weapons and the environment to his advantage.

Lemming: Exactly what I was thinking. Holmes just continuing to beat up Gordito each week is not doing any favors for Holmes at all. What does it achieve? The only thing I can think of is that this match is contested under similar rules to the Submissions Count Anywhere match that Holmes lost to Kurtesy to when they had their blood feud. I detect a bit of envy and revenge on the mind of Holmes as he looks to try and rectify that loss by taking out one of Kurtesy's friends. I personally think Gordito has what it takes to beat Holmes here but the possibility of Constantine is a worry too. Alhazred?

Alhazred: The owner of the Sludge Pit has been on a bit of slump lately and Holmes has been on fire for months now, but I think Gordito will poor Steven’s blood all over that flame.

Alhazred's Prediction: Gordito

Lemming: Here is where things get really interesting as the EurAsian championship bout has formed itself a Love Triangle. Ever since her return to WZCW, Celeste Crimson has come back with a purpose to take down the tyranny and the reign of Chaos that plagued the entire company, pointing her battle axe at Ty's legion.

Alhazred: Celeste Crimson is a woman and should be spending her time in the kitchen making me pancakes and cookies rather than wrestling. Sure, she beat me but it’s only because the whole match all I was thinking was “DAT ASS!”. She’s been trying to lure my hombre Chris to the light side lately but the force is strong in this young one and I know that chaos still burns in the pit of his soul. At this point the words of Crimson and Ty must be filling his head with decisions and doubt but I know the words of our master our louder, I can hear them all the way over here in my own head.

Lemming: You might want to consult a psychiatrist about that. May I recommend...

Alhazred: I swear if you say the person you are about to say then I will hurt you, severely. I'll withhold my thoughts for later. Let's get back on subject Mark.

Lemming: Black Dragon has also been a thorn in the side of the Chaos ever since the Roulette rounds although it has been a matter of the wrong place for the Dragon. Considering his efforts against the Chaos, Ty wanted the Dragon to be taken care of prior to the Lottery and decided to make the match a Triple Threat match for the EurAsian title. Not only does K.O. have to worry about Celeste Crimson's war path but Dragon gaining some sort of revenge on him for what the Chaos has done.

Alhazred: When you say "Chaos", you are referring to me as well. Truth be told, Dragon is a pretty cool guy. Much like everyone else in the world, I don’t know much about this shady lurker but he has a cool mask and cool name. Add in he’s probably the most underrated guy on the roster that’s not a member of the AoC. He’s been quietly dominating the mid card scene here and has picked up significant wins over a plethora of wrestlers. In saying this, although Dragon will overcome Crimson as he’s not as shallow as I am, K.O. will be too much for him and if he isn’t, us Apostles will make sure he is.

Alhazred's Prediction: Chris K.O.

Lemming: Looking to finish this story of hot-potato World champions once and for all, Ty has officially given Barbosa his rematch clause the approval as he looks to take back what was "stolen" from him by Titus at All or Nothing, who was defeated by Steven Kurtesy a few weeks later in a rematch after a draw on Aftershock that was decided on the Roulette rounds... that can be a handful to say, can't it?

Alhazred: Not really.

Lemming: Okay... anyway, despite what's on the surface these two have had quite the history with each other, always competing with each other on occasion but never for something as rich of a prize like the World title and nothing as deep as this on a personal level. Kurtesy has been a huge annoyance for the Chaos for months, consistently challenging every member and proving to be a huge obstacle for them to pass, not letting up until the Chaos is no more.

Alhazred: Kurtesy is dumb. There’s nothing about this man that anyone should like yet these fans cheer his name like his nipples spew out free Red Bull. WZCW management should be ashamed to have a guy like that hold the World Title, I know I am. I would prefer to see Mr. Burna as champion but outside of the AoC, Barbosa would be the man I would like to see the title more than anyone. He’s out of his many minds and you have no idea what he’s going to do at any moment. He’s the living embodiment of what I’ve been preaching lately and what the general theme of this company has been since the Apostles of Chaos were formed. Chaos reigns at the moment and everything about Barbosa oozes chaos and insanity. He’s the torch bearer at the moment, guiding us all to the un-promised land. He’s going to beat Kurtesy within an inch of his life. And if he can’t get the job done, the AoC will once again make sure he does if he plays his cards right.

Alhazred's Prediction: Barbosa

30manllredone.png

Alhazred: Ah... the main event!

Lemming: Now before we get into this match... Everest has recently been added to the match so just imagine one of the four spots as Everest's face.

Alhazred: Eww... you just gave me a bad image!

Lemming: This is the only time when the World Championship is not featured at the top of the card and for good reason as this is the only time of the year that you will see 30 men compete in the one match where elimination occurs if you get thrown over a few strands of out-stretched ropes wrapped around metal poles. We've got a stacked, star-studded attraction this year featuring such men as Ty Burna, Blade & last year's Lottery winner in "Showtime" Cougar. It is going to be interesting how the different stables, factions and tag teams interact with each other to either form alliances or betray them in the name of main eventing Kingdom Come. The Sons of Destiny and the Chaos have butted heads before with both groups not hesitating in throwing the first punch. A lot of questions can be asked but the one that matters most at the end of the day is who has the determination to endure 30 men and win the Lethal Lottery to main event Kingdom Come and possibly become the World Heavyweight Champion?

Alhazred: I think it’s quite obvious that I will win this match. I’m the smartest man in the universe and have had my strategy for winning planned out for months now. If I lose, in that highly unlikely scenario, the only reason for my loss would be that being the giving man and team player I am, I helped Mr. Burna win. Because in the end championships and main eventing the Kingdom Come and accomplishing the dream you’ve had since you were a wee little Togepi doesn’t hold a candle to the message the Apostles of Chaos are spreading. The team is more important than the individual. We’ll just keep letting Ty think that.

Alhazred's Prediction: Himself

----------------------------

Lemming: There you have it... an entire look at the Lottery done in what I'd call a pretty suave professional reporter tone. I think it's safe to say that I did better than that Leon Kensworth kid.

Alhazred: And that’s it for my glorious picks. For those of you who like to gamble, go ahead and bet on all of my picks and you’ll be sure to win a butt load of money. Just make sure to share some with me because while I make a lot of money here in WZCW, a majority of it goes to buying beer, video games, and fleshlights (those things get dirty fast). So feel free to give me some money when you win, I could use it to spruce up my Power Glove a little.

Lemming: I'm sure a lot of people are going to help you buy flashlights.

Alhazred: Fleshlights.

Lemming: Right... well, that's all from us this week. Ciao!

Alhazred: And remember as always: Chaos Reigns.

As a WZCW fan, there are days where I just wish I could go ahead and travel in time to the Lethal Lottery and find out the results. While I can’t do that, I can use WZCW’s exclusive video game, WZCW: Kingdom Come and simulate the results to get an idea of what might happen. So, without further ado, here are the simulated results for this year’s Lethal Lottery if it were played on WZCW: Kingdom Come.

The Fantaboulous 15 finally debuts as they take over the old Molten/Ascending rankings system, creating a more accurate reading for where the WZCW superstars currently stand in the company... although some fans and wrestlers have complained about the accuracy of the new list including the likes of the number 30 entrant, Mr. Baller (who didn't see that coming?)

If you missed out or haven't seen the rankings yet, here is a link that you can type into your address bar and it will take you straight to the F15 lists on WZCW.com:
