On top of some chaotic and bloody action, WZCW's end of year event Unscripted saw two seemingly impromptu tag team matches between the team of Mister Alhazred and Jacoby Capone and The New Church and the burgeoning teams of Bearded Gent and Celeste Crimson and Sandy Deserts.
However, WZCW.com is able to confirm that these two matches were planned weeks in advance and were to be the beginning of a tournament to crown a new number one contenders for the WZCW Tag Team Titles. A WZCW insider was quoted as saying The plan was to announce a tag team tournament at Unscripted called the Battle Bowl. The first two matches were going to be, The New Church (Westhoff and Jacobs) facing the team of Mr. Baller and Mister Alhazred, and Bearded Gent were going to face the two runners-up of the EurAsian title match vote. However, on the day of Unscripted, we found out Mr. Baller had missed his flight (and wouldnt be there) and El Califa was unable to compete following an attack by an unknown assailant backstage. The decision was made to add replacements and to go ahead with the two matches as a bonus to maintain the integrity of this unfolding Battle Bowl tournament and to give the fans a more extensive event.
WZCW.com caught up with Ascension General Manager Vance Bateman who had this to say. "Plans have certainly changed over the past weeks in light of the events that happened at Unscripted and regarding the Tag Team Titles. I can confirm for you that the Battle Bowl will continue in some shape or form, and that The New Church, and The Bearded Gent, have both advanced onward in it."
However, when asked about any possible punishment for the New Church for their actions at Unscripted, Mr Bateman had no comment.
