Without a doubt Cena. He made that title important for the first time in years. There was a huge difference between his long title reign and Diesels 12 years ago. People might not like Cena, but he draws a genuine reaction from fans. Which is something that many wrestlers can't do.

He was also having frequently good matches (on PPV at least, I still think his Raw matches are terrible). Which is something i felt Hulk Hogan never managed.

Kurt Angle: He's actually starting to bring some credibility to the TNA title, and we all know how poorly that title has been booked in the past. He's accomplished something that no one ever has, and that's win all the gold in his company at once. There have been year long title reigns before, but never one guy holding everything at once.

I think that Kurt Angle's just going to run away with this one. At first, I wasn't sure of him as the first TNA champion, and I was even less certain when he aimlessly won all the titles. I still think that was pointless, by the way. But he's just had such an impactful and important title reign, interrupted only by Sting for about twenty seconds.

How come John Cena isn't an option?

While I do not like Kurt Angle nor feel he deserves all what he is being given due to poor choices (massive ego, DUI, drug problems, etc), I really see him as Triple H in a way. Like Hunter, Kurt Angle is a great performer in the ring and on the mic but some people are lucky to get whatever they ask for and have it all handed to them within a heart beat just to feed their "egos" which it's no secret that I do not approve of that when outside the ring they are miserable people that needs help (more of a reference to Kurt Angle).

If the option was there, I would go with Cena. There's no question indeed he is a hard worker. Unlike many champions in the past (Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Triple H, etc), John Cena can maintain a true positive role model to many people, stay true and not let his ego hold him down outside the ring. The reason I use the term "ego" is because that's what happens with many top level talent. In rare occasions can a champion be able to work every night and still be a positive role model off the camera (unlike Hulk Hogan's training, prayers, no drugs, vitamins and such). But that's not the main point here at all.

Cena's title reign brought meaning to the WWE championship as well as the unpredictability. Maybe some are used to seeing a title change at every PPV ****ing the belt constantly, however I like it the old school way. A title change should occur out of nowhere on a rare occasion which would actually mean something. I never hear anyone on the forums and such complaining about Bruno Sammartino's title reign or Bob Backlund's 6 year reign which makes Cena's reign look like nothing. But like I said, it was very unpredictable. People assumed that Cena's reign went on so long that at "this PPV" or "that PPV" Cena will officially drop the belt. I mean hell, it seemed to me that almost EVERYONE was expecting Shawn Michaels to win the title at WrestleMania, which got many people in shock. It created heat and got people talking which, in my opinion, is brilliant (yes, same applies to Kurt Angle in TNA). While I do admit there are better performers than John Cena, at the same time he is not the worst. At almost every PPV his matches are actually solid IMO. Yes, I did say he is not the best wrestler, but that doesn't indicate he's a bad wrestler.

I voted for M.V.P.'s title reign. His matches with Benoit were really good. He has been having probably the best fued in the WWE, if not in all of wrestling, with Matt Hardy. He made the U.S. title more prestigious IMO than the World Heavyweghit Championship during the summer. He has been a great U. S. Champion, and I hope he keeps up the good work.

MVP is an awesome U.S. Champion, no doubt the best champion WWE has right now. He is a fresh face in the wrestling business and he really deserved that U.S. title reign.

I'm going to have to go with Kurt Angle on this vote.

He has brought credibility to the TNA Championship, had excellent matches with everyone he stepped in the ring with.He has been playing a wonderful heel and has really been taking everyone to the limit. He had a great match with Lethal at No Surrender. He put Lethal over at No Surrender which means alot to me since Lethal is my favorite TNA wrestler.Kurt has done what no one else has ever done and that's hold all a promotion's championships at one time and had great matches defending and winning those titles.

I'm having a hard time understanding how John Cena is not on this list, and guys like The Briscoe Brothers, Cade and Murdoch, Morishima, and MVP is. John Cena held the most prestigious belt in all of wrestling for half of the year (a full one year after he gained it) and only lost it because of injury. He put on numerous excellent matches with Umaga, HBK, Lashley, and Orton and even got the best match out of Khali ever. The title meant more during John Cena's title reign than it had since before the ****ing of the belt in the Attitude era.

I don't understand how John Cena is not the clear answer, much less an option on this poll. I think someone should do a little bit of editing to the poll.

I agree with slyfox. Cena I think by far had the best title reign of the year. The guy had the belt for over a whole yea and only lost it due to an injury. Though it wasn't his most recent title reign who can forget the feud he had going on with Edge. I think some of that spread into 2007, not sure though. Even if it didn't though look at the matches he has had with Umaga, HBK, Lashley, Orton, and even Khali. For the most part they are all solid matches and that plays a major part of being the best champ of the year...

I going with MVP's title reign, because for some reason John Cena isn't an option. I really don't understand that at all. But MVP also has had a great title run. It's been in this run with the title that he has truly shown off his ability and skill. He has made the US title division interesting again, the first guy since Cena to actually do so.

Title Reign Of The Year

This one goes to MVP and his United States Title Reign.

Great rivalry with Benoit to start MVP's rise in the WWE, then the current (well temporarily suspended) rivalry with Hardy has been the best rivalry in WWE this year. (all in my opinion of course) and I cant wait to see whatever solid ending they have to that feud, with Hardy probably finally winning the title

angle for sure. He brought Tna titles credibility and also has defended them well. Al of his matches have been solid and interesting to watch. He has been a great heel and deserves title run of the year

Briscoes - Giving my boys the respect they deserve. They are amazing wrestlers and have had an incredible title reign. By far the best out of these choices.

I also vote MVP's US Title reign. I had real high hopes for him, and he's gotten me back into watching wrestling as much as I used to before. His program with Benoit was exactly what he needed, and when his feud with Hardy ends, he looks to be on his way to World Championship gold. Truly a year of progression for MVP.

Is this poll a joke? Where is Cena's reign. The most important title in the biggest promotiion. The guy had one of the longest reigns of all time and he is not on this list. You put some jap on this thing as well as cade and murdoch. Give me a break. Cena had the most impressive reign by far. Many people bought the pay per views in hopes just to see him lose the title.

I agree with everyone else, whether u like cena or notyou can't deny that he should be on that list because he has successfully put the title on the line and retained it numerous times. He even beat umaga and made him defeated and still kept his title. Cena is a true champion because he doesn't back down from any challenge and it doesn't matter hiw big the person was he always came on top. I'm mad to not see him in this category he's way better than all those people

Of the choices I went with MVP's reign, which has been excellent. However, even though I'm not much of a John Cena fan, I am kind of dumbfounded as to why his reign was not an option. Cena's reign was historical due to it's length. Regardless of whether you like him or not, he held the most important championship in professional wrestling from the before the beginning of the year until October, when he only lost the belt due to a freak injury.

How can John Cena not win this award, let alone not even be an option? Amazing. His 13 month reign as champion gave the WWE title sooo much credibility. Cena really deserves a lot of credit for that. How this can be overlooked simply amazes me. He defended the title against legends (HBK), legend killers (Orton), monsters (Umaga, Khali) and powerhouse up-and-comers (Lashley), and for the most part, had good matches with all of them. He showed such great versatility, in that he could work well against wrestlers with all different styles, shapes and sizes. After all the credibility he gave to the title, it all went down the drain the moment he got injured. Just imagine the rub that the eventual winner against Cena (probably would have been Orton) would have got by beating him for the title. John Cena BY A MILE had the best title reign of the year.

I absolutely cannot stand Cena, but for his reign to not be an option is ridiculous. He held the most important title for a little over a year and I'll even admit he brought some more credibility back to it. Whether you hate him or not, his title reign is easily the top choice.

Regardless, I voted for MVP's reign.

Angle's capturing all of the titles never shocked me except that it was Angle that did it. TNA is using former WWE wrestlers to make their talent look silly. How seriously can I take anyone in TNA. Putting all of the titles on Styles or Joe (who has the best chant ever) would have made a lot more sense in establishing that TNA's talent was as good as the WWE's all along. Plus a moment that special should probably be saved for a face. But instead, the people Vince felt he could afford to lose are running over TNA talent. Now TNA just looks minor league and the former WWE talent are looking like they HAD to get away to enjoy any success.

I voted for MVPs US title reign for one huge reason

it was the only entertaining reign of the year

Cena bores me to fucking death cade and Murdoch are ok but Im not a huge tag team guy and I dont see enough ROH to vote for the others.

MVPs title reign has been tremendous his matches all deliver and his promo work has always been great. I loved his friendship with Matt Hardy and then loved seeing the beatdown he put on him when he turned on him, MVP plays the arrogant heel perfectly and his Im better than you promos are better than anything WWE has given us all year promo wise. and for a while he was the only reason Id even watch smackdown

MVP is pure entertainment and its only a matter of time until he gets a world title reign

I think its funny that so many claimed all this hatred for Cena and his reighn, and yet, you see so many crying out for him to be an option here.

I must agree though, that im a little confused as to why cena isnt on here, as his was by far the greatest reighn of the year, merely becuase of the length, presitige, and drama it provided.

MVPs was good, as it has produced nothing but quality feuds, and matches. Loved his work with benoit, the match with flair, the matches/feud with Hardy, and the matches/feud with mysterio for sure.
