I'd have to say Taker vs. Batsita. Purley because I've never been so unexcited by a Wrestle Mania main event ever. Not so much because I thought it would be bad. I assumed it would be bad. Taker usually has a shit opponent at Mania, it's tradition. But the thought of Batsita ending the show didn't inspire me. The end of Mania 21 drew apathy. I expected that to be the same.

But what a nice surprise it was. Bit performers gave it their all. Shame it went on 4th. But in the end it doesn't really matter. It was a great match on an underrated show.

Harris vs. Storm: Two guys that weren't expected to be much in the singles ranks. The other guys on this list are all main event calibre talent, these two not so much. They literally came out of nowhere this year to put on probably one of the best feuds of the year. This matched delivered so much more then expected, thanks to how bad the match the month prior was.

John Cena vs. Umaga at the Royal Rumble gets my vote. I don't think there has been a match this year outside of the WWE that can even begin to touch this match in terms of workrate and storytelling, and there hasn't been a match in the WWE this good. Simply a phenomenal match.

Out of these choices, Undertaker vs. Batista at WM was solid, but overrated due to poor expectations. If it had the expectations of the HBK vs. Cena match, the Taker/Tista would not be nearly as well remembered. I still haven't seen Harris vs. Storm or Angle vs. Machismo, so I'll have to cast my vote for Joe vs. Angle.

I personally want to extend some love for Jeff Hardy vs Umaga on the episode of Raw with the Jericho return. It was sad that so many people were more fixated on the end of the night, but those who tuned in to the whole show got a treat. The Umaga vs Hardy match was amazing. It was also a long match and showcased how a smaller wrestler can take on a superheavyweight well.

While I agree that the Cena / Umaga match at Royal Rumble may have had better ring psychology, I felt the work done in Hardy vs Umaga was better. It seemed like more of a struggle, not because of any animosity or redemption, but for the sake of competition. Hardy took some great bumps, and Umaga moved around the ring like a man half his size.

It amazes me that so many people are casting write-ins for Umaga as a MOTY candidate.

Angle v. Joe - This was just a good ol' classic wrestling match. Neither of this guys ever put on a bad match and to see them together was pure magic. They have very good chemistry together and the match was near flawless.

For me hands down the match of the year is, HBK vs. John Cena in a 55-minute classic on the April 23rd episode of Raw.

From the choices above, I went with Taker/Batista at Mania. To me this was the best match from Mania this year. It was also their best match(individually) too that point in years! Taker's last great match going in was with Angle at NWO '06, and Batista's was with HHH at Vengeance '05.

Undertaker vs Batista at WrestleMania 23. Overall it was a good showing of both Taker and Batista, but the fans made this match great, they were into this match from beginning to end, hoping Taker keeps the streak alive. When Taker won, the fans went crazy because it was the biggest WrestleMania victory that the Undertaker has won so far and the streak continues. A great match and a great moment which will go down in WWE history.

Well, the Cena vs.HBK Raw match was a 15 minute match stretch out too long.

My pick goes to Billy Boy vs. Gran Apache bull terrier match

John Cena and Shawn Michaels should be Match of the Year but with the list I guess I'm going to say Benoit and MVP at Wrestlemania.

The Kurt Angle/Joe matches I don't enjoy as much as others. The match with Jay Lethal was pretty good but not deserving to be match of the year. Harris and Storm put on a great match but I don't think it is better than the other two matches.

The match with Benoit and MVP stole the show in my opinion and solidified MVP as a great wrestler and a big time player. This match did wonders for him.

Batista and Undertaker was a great match but I think it wasn't as big as it should have been because it came on during the middle of the show and wasn't given a lengthy time for a main event match.

for me i am having a hard time choosing between either Bryan Danielson vs. Takeshi Morishima from Manhatten Mayhem 2, and Bryan Danielson vs. KENTA from Driven...

Dragon vs. Shima was just an awesome fight, i loved the drama and strategy involved with Dragon taking a different approach against Shima by going after his legs, trying to bring him down to the mat...then, Morishima just starts beating the fuck out of Dragon in the corner, shattering his orbital and deteching his retina in the process...Dragon is clearly hurting, and it seems like at a piont when they are outside the ring he is actually crying in pain...anyways he guts it out and keeps to his gameplan, he almost succeeds and just when you think he has finally beat the monster, Morishima nails the fuck out of him with a lariat then the old backdrop driver for the win...just an awesome display, and the start to an awesome series of matches to come this year

Dragon vs. KENTA at Driven in Chicago was also just badass...the final stretch was incredible, with KENTA using the cattle mutilation on Dragon, then Danielson uses GO2Sleep on KENTA, a lot of striking, the finish with Dragon trapping KENTA and throwing his MMA elbows to his head, then KENTA just summoning up the strength to lift him into Go2Sleep, all the while still getting railed in the head with nonstop elbows, then hitting his finisher for the pin was just great shit

these two above everything else i have seen stand out...i guess i have to pick one and i will go with Danielson vs. Morishima 1

I dont think the cena/hbk 55 min long match was that good. Dont get me wrong, i liked this match a lot but i think it went too long. Cena is not too good in hour long matches. If it wasn't for HBK, that match would of not been as good.

With that being said, I think my favourite match of 2007 was Batista Vs. Undertaker at WM23. It was loud and intense. The fans were hot the match was fast paste and a lot of effort was put in it. I remember that i jumped out of my seat when Batista gave taker the batista bomb. I was so worried that taker was going to lose his streak to BATISTA! And michael cole was right, it was trully a rollar coster ride.
