WWE vs TNA (Talent vs Storytelling)

Dark Match Winner
You know, i've grown up on the WWE. I remember as a kid watchin Hogan slam Andre (on tape of course didn't see it when it happened not gonna lie :)) Macho man and Warrior, then don't get me started on the attitude era.

Now, i remember the first time i saw TNA. I got out of school early and i saw the word Wrestling on FSN. I was hooked. I saw AJ Styles and Daniels just put on a disgustingly good match.

I started tuning in and over time, things just got boring. I mean it started becoming everything i hated about the late WCW, GIMMICK MATCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If there's one thing i hate in the wrestling business it's Gimmick matches. TNA just got stupid!! More gimmick matches, less talent. Then they started signing old wrestling stars. Once i saw this i started tuning out. If there's one thing i can't stand is watching talented, passionate, rising stars get outshined by the name of Scott Steiner, or Kevin Nash (just like WCW). Then i just began to loathe TNA.

Then i heard about another terrible gimmick match: THE ELECTRIC STEEL CAGE!!!! I laughed so hard when i heard about it i just had to torrent it and watch it. And god, worse match since Hogan/Warrior 2.

WWE. Don't think i'm gonna go soft on them. It seems like they have started using gimmick matches too just not in abundance.(Joking) I mean Chavo vs Hornswoggle!!!!!!!! I wish JBL would just come back and beat the hell out of horny! I started out like everyone else loving Horny, but then i began to loathe him when they gave this fool the Cruiserweight title to rob me of great cruiserweight matches!!!! All these DX things are just stupid now. They aren't funny they just corny now. These segments cut out time they could be spending letting MVP, Swagger, Morrison, even Shelton Benjamin put on great matches. But i digress. Hornswoggle has a job, and Human Tornado, Chris Hero, Ruckus, Jack Evans, and Sonjay Dutt are unemployed. I guess i'm just ranting.

What do you think tho? I mean, me personally i'll be happy with 15 solid minutes of wrestling than 15 minutes of DX talking about cocks, or Hornswoggle burying Chavo, or the Main Event Mafia talking about spaghetti (or whatever they do). Don't get me wrong i love angles and promos, but they're are certain people that should just let they're words speak in the ring (i.e. Jeff Hardy, Cody Rhodes, Batista, Cena well nevermind fire Cena!!!! hahaha joking lil kids calm down). What do you prefer?

Well you pretty much have to have both talent and storytelling to put on a great wrestling show. I know TNA has done some bad gimmick matches in the past with blindfold matches and electrified cage matches. Lets be honest, that was over 2 years ago when that happened. Just because the MEM are a big part of the show now, it doesn't mean that's the only thing going on on Impact.

Past Thursday, they had qualifying matches with Rhino, Sting, AJ Styles, Chris Sabin, Suicide, and Doug Williams. Samoa Joe and Daniels cut a promo for the X Division title, and The Knockouts were on display competing in their tag team tournament. I don't think TNA has a problem with talent, especially when they are pushing Lashley, Morgan and Hernadez.

I think WWE has too many PPV's to showcase good storylines. I think if they had anywhere between 5 -10, they could have great feuds and story lines. I think TNA could benefit from this too.

Due to the PG era, DX doesn't use the word cock in their promos anymore. As far as MVP goes, if you haven't noticed he's teaming with Mark Henry, and they're facing Jericho and Big Show at Breaking Point for the undisputed tag titles. Jack Swagger has been involved in the US championship pitcure for the past couple of weeks. And if didn't see Smackdown last night Morrison is the new IC champ. Also Morrison and Mysterio put on one hell of a match. As far as Benjamin goes, he's been given chance after chance, and has done nothing with it. Benjamin has to do something else besides putting on a memorable MITB match every year. I am all for talent, but the WWE is going after ratings, and pleasing the kiddies. That's why we have the guest hosts on Raw. I would love nothing more than to see an end to this Chavo/Hornswoggle madness, but as long as people keep tunig in to see it, it will keep happening.

Different people have different tastes. Vince can't only appeal to the IWC, or else he'd go out of business. I do personally dislike TNA though. Why? Idk. Why do we hate rats but love squirrels? Same concept. (yes, it was stolen from Inglorious Basterds :p). And even though WWE puts on those promos and gimmick matches, they still find time to promote rising stars. You can't just have a John Morrison Power Hour. And they are not going to put Jack Swagger over John Cena in the title race right now. If you don't like all the extra stuff, I suggest you get a Tivo and watch only the wrestling (minus Horny/Chavo, unless you like it).

When i first saw TNA before they had the 6 sided ring. I was really loving it and thought it was going to give WWE a run for their money. For a couple of years I actually thought that TNA was the best until they started doing stupid storylines. As for WWE I agree with the Chavo/Horny angle. It is stupid and I honestly think that Horny should go back be with Finlay. D-X? Don't get me wrong I love them but how any times can you have a reunion with them? I love it when they come out but how about maybe recruiting some new members? I think WWE is doing a great job pushing the new stars who will be future HOFers. As for the veterans who were around and formed the Attitude era, I think they should just sit down and take a break. Or just bring them back at least once a year.

talent vs storytelling.... not many talents in either corporation can go in and face anyone on the card and tell a great story. HBK reguardless of whether you like his dx stuff is one of few that can take control of an audience in his matches. it seems some of the younger talent has just not picked up on that grey area that is the 4th wall. How lost do you think cena would be if the crowd didnt cheer him getting punched in the face and boo him for connecting with a rebuttal. im sure he wouldnt know what to do.
