Eve has been at Kelly Kelly’s side for months, helping the blonde bombshell fend off Divas Champion Beth Phoenix and Natalya. However, after weeks of watching fellow Divas suffer excruciating pain due to the pin-up strong Divas’ unique submission maneuver, Eve will have her chance to lock up with The Glamazon at Vengeance.

Recently named No. 1 contender to the Divas Title, Eve is focused on netting the “Butterfly” for the third time, as well as defending the honor of her fellow Divas. While Kelly Kelly’s new attitude has shown off a more aggressive side to the blonde bombshell, she was unable to recapture the Divas Title. This opened up an opportunity for Eve, and she immediately sent a message to The Glamazon with a convincing victory over Natalya on WWE Raw SuperShow.

Utilizing a unique submission maneuver, Beth and Natalya have been seemingly taking pleasure in hearing the agonizing screams of their opponents including Alicia Fox and Kelly Kelly. But The Glamazon will certainly have her work cut out for her inside the AT&T Center in San Antonio when she squares off with Eve. A student of Gracie jiu-jitsu, Eve is an agile competitor inside the ring and has a wide array of abilities to keep the Divas Champion against the ropes. While The Glamazon is known for her strength and sheer power, Eve’s skills and style may indeed be the perfect counter.

While the Divas Champion will have Natalya lurking at ringside, Eve will most certainly be accompanied by the enraged Kelly Kelly. This contest could prove to be one of the most competitive of the pay-per-view event, or it will simply deteriorate into an all-out brawl? Can Eve end the reign of The Glamazon and net the butterfly emblazoned title for the third time?

Lol, WWE acknowledges the use of the term "Butterfly" to describe this belt. Anyway as one of the few guys on here that is into the Divas division, let me start by stating that The overall context of the women's division considered, I think that Eve is very under-rated. Yeah, I'm a fan of Miss Torres. Not only is she ridonkulously hot, but she's one of those rare few who can convincingly kick ass without being one of the power-based girls. WWE showed a thing a while ago, I think it was on their website, about Eve and her martial arts training and stuff, which was pretty cool. It was nice to see a woman wrestler with a different kind of martial background.

In-ring, I think Eve is not half-bad. She has a pretty nice couple of moonsaults that kick major butt. Also she can do the whole emotional thing etc., which is useful in the right situations.

Another pro to this match is, Eve is finally relevant to the angle. She's been tailing KK around for a while only really being in tag matches and stuff, so it's nice to see a relatively new match-up in her vs. Phoenix.

THE PREDICTION
Phoenix to defend. I think it's too early for her to lose the belt without looking weak. But I hope we can still have a decent showing even if this match doesn't mean much in the long run. Filler, but the good kind of filler.

Hmm I also agree that Eve is a good example of 'the middle' between the 'power-based' and 'model-based' Divas. I hope Phoenix retains, only because I want to see a story-line where eventually all of the Divas, from Kaitlyn to Kelly and everyone in between, try to take a piece outta her unsuccessfully until the return of Kharma. It would be cool for all the Divas to unite against The Divas of Destruction and try to overtake her to no avail. Because then when Kharma returns it gives her a reason to face Beth (Which is honestly what we all wanna see anyway), plus it will immediately make Kharma THE dominant Diva (As if that wouldn't be apparent anyway).

I have always considered Eve a WWE diva who was intended for the looks side of the divas, but ended up fighting because she isn't bad at it. She has a descent move-set and her in-ring ability has changed quite dramatically. Nice to see Phoenix face Eve this time, but somehow Natalya has to come in as well. Maybe a Fatal-4-Way at Survivor Series? A Fatal-4-Way Elimination at Survivor Series?

Phoenix has to win to show her dominance. Kelly had a good reign, so at least let Phoenix too. She may be considered the dominant diva in the current WWE divas division, but she is only a 3x Womens Champion and 1x Divas Champion to say she has been a round a good 5/6 years (remember the Trish thing?)

Beth will keep it till Kharma returns, Beth turns face and loses the strap to Kharma. What gets me though is that the WWE expect Kharma to be Divas Champion. I have no problem to that. But, how do you expect her to throw that purple toy with a purty butterfly over her shoulder. It makes her look like a tool, an idiot and an absolute joke, to be honest. I would've kept the Women's Championship. That way it is suitable to everyone, as I don't consider Kharma, Beth Phoenix, Natalya or Tamina a "diva."

 

[The Future Rises]

Eve? Of all Divas? I honestly thought the WWE made her a jobber to the stars because let's face it, she's had 2 title reigns and she was boring in both. She's done nothing to get me over and apparently the fans don't care much about her either. Why is she being pushed is beyond me. What's so special about her? She's an ok looker and that's it. She has no charisma, she botches her dropkick almost every time which is really painful to look at, and she's not over with the crowd.

I really hope Beth retains in this one and moves on to feuding with Maryse and Kelly Kelly. They actually have some charisma and are over with the crowd. Eve has got to be the most boring Diva in a long, long time. I see a lot of fans saying "Eve has always been a sidekick to Kelly" and "They never give Eve a chance" when she had 2 title reigns and she was boring in both. Maybe if she turns heel she can actually show some personality. Though I'd much rather see KK as a heel to be honest.

I think Beth Phoenix will retain pretty easily. I think this match is just a filler to get to Survivor Series where it will be either a fatal 4 way or Beth will face Maryse, if she is back by then, and Maryse playing the face for her return. But, I too think the Glamazon will keep the title until Kharma returns and maybe have a 2 on 1 match at Wrestlemania with the Divas of Doom vs. Kharma for the title. I see Kharma winning and bringing back the WWE Women's Championship and having a decent feud with the Divas of Doom.

until recently i didnt really like eve but then my girlfriend showed me her martial arts training videos and after seeing those i watched her matches more closely and saw another video online (again curioisty of my girlfriend) of when eve used a arm submission finisher and now im seeing that shes actullay pretty good based off how many divas in tht divison suck! it does seem like wwe loves eve but i think beth will retain here and hold the title atleast for the rest of the year.

I could see WWE taking a page out of TNA's book by having Eve defeat Beth to become the new Diva's Champ. A win for Eve could start a much needed feud between Eve and Kelly Kelly; it seems unlikely though. This thing between Kelly Kelly and Beth is far from over although I have no clue where they're going with these four. Beth wins here and continues to have this pointless feud with Eve and Kelly Kelly over stupid reasons no one cares to remember anymore. Holy shit, I cannot wait for Kharma to return and beat the shit out of Natalya and Beth because quite frankly, I'm sick of this four-way shitty, half assed feud. Beth wins.

Kharma made me actually watch the diva's matches back when she was still there. It was such a breath of fresh air.

I do see Beth Phoenix losing, and having Kelly Kelly be jealous of her friend winning the match she could not. They need a little story in the division.

Beth only just recently got the title. She is facing Eve who did next to nothing to earn a title shot. Putting the belt on Eve would make absolutely no sense at all. I think Beth will retain because she needs to continue her dominance. The match will probably be better than all of those Kelly matches, but will still not be anything to write home about.

Well put. At least, diva requirements are higher than they used to be. In the past, we had "wrestlers" and "models." The wrestlers could coax a match out of the models, but it was totally evident the models couldn't wrestle worth a damn. Performers like Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler and Teri Runnels were great to look at but hopeless in the ring. Today, their type has been replaced by "athletic models;" girls who can at least make it look as if they're in a fight. Of course, every move is still choreographed, but they can put two athletic models in the ring and not need a true wrestler to guide the action (Goodbye, Mickie James & Gail Kim!)

If you disagree, find a tape of one of the Torrie Wilson-Stacy Keibler matches and tell me how pathetic it looked. Their attempts to "cool-lay" each other in ring center were more believable than their fighting.

As for Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres? I'd love to see Beth a more dominant force; so far, she's more about verbal taunts than ring action.

As for Eve?.....she's just an opponent to toss in there. Like all the other divas, she's held the women's title and will probably hold it again.

But not at Vengeance: Beth wins.

I'm tired of seeing Eve and Kelly try to compete with Natalya and Beth.I say Eve does better than Kelly did, but Beth takes the momentum and wins the belt to keep the momentum for the Divas of Doom going.

Eve is in my opinion, the best actual wrestler out of all the Diva's outside Natalya and Beth, I was even stating that when Gail Kim and Melina were under contract too. When she wrestles she is pretty potent, she doesn't seem to make too many mistakes and her movements are smooth and realistic. She has a lot of athletisicm and recently I've been more than impressed with her.

Beth and Natalya's angle is kind of wearing thin for me, I still see the actual reason for it - it's all related to when Kharma returns once she gives birth and takes some more leave time, you got two women who think they dominate and an actual female who genuinely dominates. It's too coincidental not to coincide with one another.

Either way, when it comes to this match, I think it is one of the better Diva's matches you can put on, so I'm expecting something above-par when compared to regular Diva's matches. Beth will probably retain.

I too am a male followers of the divas. Think of this time 5 months ago? It was just 10 diva tag matches every week. I'm pleased to see Beth with the strap.

I'm pretty sure Eve will lose the mach. recently, I was browsing and saw there was some talk over twitter between Beth and Tamina saying her eye is on the gold. Perhaps a small rivalry to come there? Or just extra show? Either way, Beth's got this one.

I'm thinking Beth will win, but I'm hoping that Eve pulls through and wins the title again. In my mind, she's the perfect diva. She's beautiful and sexy, and can actually wrestle. She also comes across as intellegent, unlike Kelly Kelly.

It's too early for Beth to lose the title. She just won it a couple weeks ago and she looked weak in her last feud with Kelly. If she would lose the title already then she'll lose a lot more credibility. I do think Eve has more talent than people give her credit for but Nattie & Beth are the best divas in-regards to in-ring talent.

Beth isn't going to lose credibility. Nobody in the world with a developed brain thinks Beth could actually lose to kk or even eve. It's actually kind of insulting. At least Eve looks like an athlete. KK just looks like a puker.

I don't think Beth will lose though. I think this is just to break up the monotonous of Beth/KK we were getting for a while.

Beth finally won the title after months of chasing it. Phoenix just completed her journey to become a champion again, so she's not going to drop the strap so soon. Eve as a challenger does feel like a random choice, but I really don't have a problem with this, because the thought of another Kelly Kelly/Beth match drives me nuts. The matches between these two weren't bad, but this feud did become pretty stale and uninteresting.

Eve and Beth should deliver a decent or solid match here. Beth can always bring the goods, and Eve is one of the better wrestlers in the Divas division, so this could be an entertaining match.

As much as I love Eve I don't think it makes sense for Beth to lose her title so early, she and Natalya have a great thing going that the fans(including myself) seem to love and has really made watching the Divas more enjoyable. I agree with Dragon Saga that Eve is the best wrestler out of the ladies and she had a very powerful promo on Smackdown when she confronted Beth and Natalya(and created a wardrobe malfunction ) but I say unfortunatly Eve does not win this match and Beth retains.

I'm personally not a big fan of Eve (though I'll acknowledge that she's one of the better wrestlers in the Divas division) which is part of the reason why I want Beth to retain here. Besides that, I feel it's too soon for her to drop the title and the Divas of Doom thing is only now starting to make some real headway. So I'm pulling for Beth to retain. What I want to see at some point down the line is Beth and Natalya square off for the belt or for Beth to be able to hold onto the title long enough for her to eventually feud with Kharma. So I predict (and hope for) Beth retaining the title in a short but decent match.

Let me get this out of the way first: Eve is the best equivalent to the female Sin Cara. She can hit more exciting spots then anyone on the roster, but she's also going to screw 2-3 of those spots up in a match, even with a professional like Beth.

Beth will retain the title here. The entire idea of the Sisters of Salvation will be doomed if we go back to them chasing the titles. The whole point was to get the belt on Beth, and have her be the dominant champion. She just won the title from Kelly in a nefarious way after losing two straaight title matches to Kelly. Losing here kills the entire angle, as she's no longer believable as a dominant champion.

My other question is this: How did Eve earn the the title shot? I know she beat Natalya, but that was after the fact. And there are other heels Eve could have beaten: Why are they constantly putting Kelly and Eve over Natalya? This hurts the angle as well, fluke wins or not.(And Eve's win was decisive.) I can't recall a singles match Eve had won in 2 months before defeating Natalya, so how did she get this shot, exactly? She's won and scored the pinfall tagging with Kelly, but it that really credible? Is she truly shown as a threat. I guess you could point to the Natalya match, but I dont buy it.

I expect this to be harder then expected for Beth, she won't squash Eve. I expect Eve to battle back and forth will Beth the way Kelly did, but she won't squeak out the win. Beth needs this win to remain successful in the SOS angle, even if it's not a dominant win. I dont expect it to be, as Eve seems to be being protected almost as much as Kelly. Anyway, a Glam Slam ends this without any shenanigans.
