WWE SummerSlam: WWE United States Championship - Rusev (c) VS Roman Reigns

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
This bout is officially...well....official for this year's SummerSlam a week from this Sunday.

The novelty of seeing Roman Reigns being out of the main event spot and fighting for one of the mid-card titles is, for me at least, the primary source of interest in this match. It should be a good, powerhouse type of match but, as usual, WWE finds themselves in a predicament in which not everyone is going to be happy. If Reigns wins, then you'll have some who'll go off about how this makes the Wellness Policy look bad; I can see that perspective because Reigns has only just returned from suspension within the past few weeks and he's in a title match. If Reigns loses, some will claim he's being buried but, at the same time, there's the argument that losing to Rusev is part of his punishment for failing a WWE drug test while he was WWE Champion.

I've little doubt that more people are on board with the idea of Reigns being a mid-card champion than being World Champion as quite a few fans didn't want him in the main event in the first place. I'd personally like to see Rusev retain because a win over Reigns carries significant weight and I do think it's much too soon for Reigns to win a WWE title of any kind.

This is the S.S. match I've been waiting for. Rusev would've made a great challenger for Reigns a few months down the line, now the roles are reversed and I can't wait. I hope they stay strong and don't give us a needless title change.

This is the match, other than Brock/Orton, that I'm looking forward to the most by far. Rusev finally has a worthwhile challenger for his title, which probably means he's going to lose 3 times in a row. Yippee. I wish they would have started this thing out better than they did, what with that god-awful wedding segment last night, but it is what it is.

Rusev should retain, but he probably won't. The fans want to see Reigns lose, so keep him losing... not like he's going to lose any momentum.

By some informations Rusev goes to honeymoon really quick and requested some time off. So think we will get Reigns as midcard Champion for some time. Which isnt that bad, it is something that could bring benefit to him. Hey, he made people cheer for him 2 RAWs in the row which is more then he did when he was WWE Champ. And he was face Champion. Though huge part of it goes to Rusev, its not that hard to have Americans boo you for something unamerican, especially if you are foreigner. But Reigns actually did pretty fine. Even liked that promo this monday with all of corny jokes. Was brief and effective and he did delivered it just fine.

I think that Cesaro and Sheamus might be added in this title match as there's nothing else for each of them.

Reigns shouldn't win the title this soon. I am happy that he is going for midcard title now which should have been the case before he ever entered main event picture.

If Sheamus and Cesaro aren't added, Rusev should retain. If they are, then I would prefer a Cesaro title win. In both cases, there's an intrigue around the match which is an improvement for Reigns.

I think they'll have a separate one on one match, maybe added to the pre-show.

I agree. He should have been the guy to beat Rusev at WM 31 instead of Cena. Better late than never.

I'd just have Rusev lock Reigns into his submission, Reigns passes out. Then, Reigns beat him at NoC for the title.

I think it's too soon.. I would have preferred a nice feud between Roman and Owens, where Roman puts over Owens in a similar feud with HBK and Y2J from 2008 and then have Roman go for the US title.
That way Roman stays away from a championship for a while, due to his violation.

But I can't really complain. I see Roman winning, but not becoming the champ for some reason. I see a DQ finish in the works here and Roman wins the title at the next PPV.

Best course of action for this match is to have Rusev win clean. Keep building Rusev as a monster heel. Even if he's going on a honeymoon, that didn't stop WWE from keeping the IC Title on The Miz while he was off filming another WWE Studios Direct to DVD film.

Keep the title on Rusev by having him beat Reigns clean. It won't hurt Reigns. It'll help Rusev, and in the end you have Reigns win the feud after hopefully either finally getting over with the crowd, or finally turning full fledged heel.
