WWE Royal Rumble - Six Women Tag Team Match

Following the segment featuring Nikki Bella attacking Natalya backstage and Alexa Bliss' confrontation with Naomi, a six women tag team match with Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella & Naomi taking on Alexa Bliss, Mickie James and Natalya.

Given that this will be Mickie Jame's first match in WWE in roughly 7 years, there's little chance of the heels coming up short. I like how it looks like they're starting to build Naomi back up into a title threat, which is something that we haven't really seen in a couple of years.

Thinking that we will have the usual Nikki and Nattie beat down before the match and it will only have 4 actual participants. Either way, don't see why Bliss isn't having a match of her own. This one is unfortunately filler.

This is just filler to try to get all of Smackdown's relevant women on the show. I would have liked to see Alexa get a match of her own, but KB pointed out that unless they hotshoted Naomi, they didn't really have a challenger for her yet. I assume the heels will win, unless they decide to turn Mickie already, and Alexa will move onto Nikki by Mania season...ugh.

This isn't filler, filler would be something like Carmella vs. Naomi. Hell, I can make the argument that both of RAW's Women's matches are more filler than this, they're just stalling until they can get to the eventual Fatal 4 Way at WrestleMania. There's multiple intertwining storylines here. Becky vs. Mickie/Alexa, Naomi vs. Alexa, and Nattie vs. Nikki. This is pretty perfect. You're not gonna put the title on the line or have another high profiled singles match when you have a brand exclusive PPV coming in two weeks. You save it for then.

Heels win, Naomi eats the pin.

Just something to add:

I can't take credit for this, I'm watching WhatCulture's prediction video and they brought up that this could potentially be setting up for an Elimination Chamber match. I'm not sure if I buy that but it's certainly interesting.

Oh it's filler all right. The only two women that SD has really focused on is Becky and Alexa. Naomi just came back from injury, Nattie and Nikki have their own thing going, Eva Marie has disappeared and Carmella is out and about with Ellsworth. Mickie James just debuted as well.

Sure storylines will develop out of this, but there is only one going in and that's Becky and Alexa. Nikki and Nattie haven't really even had a match yet.

Huh? Nikki and Natty most certainly do have a storyline and a focus. And I'm glad they haven't had a match yet. Sick of seeing people wrestle each other a bunch of times on Raw or Smackdown before they even meet up at PPV. And Mickie just showed up, but is obviously a focus since she debuted during a title match, and jumped right into the main angle. Naomi's inclusion is filler, but 5 out of 6 isn't bad.

I'm totally interested in a Women's Elimination Chamber match if it happens. Let's face it, Raw wouldn't be able to do such a match but Smackdown can do because of multiple storylines and enough credible participants.

About the match, I think that the heels should win this match. This is Mickie's first match at main roster after returning so a win should be a good start for her and her heel stint. The faces don't require the win as much as the heels do.

So Alexa Bliss' team should win.

I've often thought that, if Smackdown Live is getting the Elimination Chamber PPV, then there is no way they go ahead without a women's elimination chamber match. There are normally at least two Elimination Chamber matches at the PPV and I would be utterly flabbergasted if one of them isn't a women's match this time around. As Kapu pointed out, Raw wouldn't be able to do this match, thanks to them consistently focussing on Charlotte and Sasha and everyone else falling by the wayside. Smackdown Live has enough women on the same level of talent that the match could be very entertaining and could go either way.

As for this match, I agree with JH. There isn't a great hope for the faces in this match. With Mickey James so recently returned, I don't think that they put the faces over her here. And truth be told, there is no sense in putting the faces over here in the first place. If Nikki or Becky get the win, then it kinda puts the brakes on the momentum of the heels on SDL. It make much more booking sense to put the heels over and carry on the momentum into the Elimination Chamber PPV.

Heels win.
