WWE "Raw Girls"?

Does anybody remember the "Nitro Girls" from the now defunct WCW on Monday Nitro? They were cheerleader-like dancers on Nitro when the show would be on break. Alot came out of the Nitro Girls. Some hooked up and married or dated wrestling legends (HBK, DDP, Flair), Geogre Clooney of course doesn't count. Being that G.C. has former Nitro girl Stacy Keblier on his arm.

I'm not saying that the WWE should copy the idea. But they did have "Extreme Expose" on the defunct ECW brand, in which two former WWE diva's champions (Kelly Kelly, Layla El) were apart of. Brooke Adams is over in TNA.

So should or could the WWE bring in "the RAW girls" on monday nights on RAW?

Id imagine the vast majority of males would say yes, however under Pg no, this would never happen. I know its off topic but Ill say its a shame names like kelly and Layla are associated with being at the top of the divas division

If this were too happen, it wouldn't go well. Sure, the men would like it. (Some women would too) But I doubt the fans would ultimately want to see it. First, if anyone has ever been to a live show, they know when the girls come out, that's our break to go get more beer/soda and go to the restroom. I agree with Raptor93 as well, because of the Pg rating it will never happen.

If they were ever going to have "Raw Girls" it would have been when they were competing with WCW.

It's a different time now and with the family friendly WWE it would not work,

Back when WCW had '' The Nitro Girls '' it was when WCW and WWF were going head to head in the ratings war.

Personally I think The Nitro Girls did not bring anything to the table they were just there to fill air time for a few minutes that's it noting more nothing less.

I see no reason for such an act. The WWE had something like this once upon a time when ECW was up and about called Extreme Expose. The dancers were Kelly Kelly, Layla and someone else, can't really remember her name, but the dancing was much raunchier, like stuff you'd see in a club or a titty bar. It was a nice little bit of T & A but it ultimately didn't add or take anything away from ECW.

With the WWE going PG as well, I don't see it happening. Even if WWE did go forward with it, they'd get tons of complaints from various women's rights organizations & feminist nazis like they once did. Whenever WWE does anything that's generally even remotely controversial these days, you've got parents rights groups & various other organizations coming out of the woodwork to bitch about one thing or another. Remember the heat WWE got over R-Truth smoking a cigarette on Raw when Raw was shot in London last year? Anti-smoking groups, parents groups and health organizations pretty much blasted WWE over as if they'd just seen Truth bend Kelly Kelly over and snort a line of coke off her ass.

The headache this would cause wouldn't be worth it. We live in the days of ultimate political correctness and portraying women in any sort of sexual way these days would probably cost WWE sponsors.

I would suggest that it would do more harm than good. The demographic that the "girls" would appeal to know where to find it if they want it.

Back in the early days of Raw, they did have Raw Girls. It would be some heavier women would hold up signs like I like it Raw. They were from the NY area as Ive seen them at house shows at Nassau Coliseum during that time. They were twins and I believe one has passed away a few years back.
Also I do remember at a Nitro on Long Island, the Nitro Girls after a few times of being out were getting booed. Theres enough dancing on the show as it is. Lets get to the action.

This has nothing to do with PG. The WWE do have the ability to create a female dancing product that is PG. The Nitro Girls were not exactly provocative. The NFL has cheerleaders and they are on regular broadcast networks on Sunday afternoon. There is just no need or desire. Why carry a few more women on your payroll if it doesn't get or keep people watching? The only reason I can think of if it is going to bleed in to an interesting storyline. Which is unlikely.

While they are both physical activities, dancing and professional wrestling are a completely different product. They really have no purpose together.

So you don't think WWE should copy an old WCW idea, but then you move on to ask if they should by having "Raw Girls" come onscreen doing things they already do as "Divas". Yeah.... No.

Closed.
