WWE Extreme Rules: WWE United States Championship - Hardy (c) VS Nakamura

This match was made official last night on SmackDown Live and there's a chance it already would have gone down on TV had Nakamura not been bitten by a police dog last week. Nakamura showed up at WWE shows in Japan using a crutch and to keep him out for this long, it definitely wasn't some little nibble.

At any rate, Nakamura's first title in WWE on the main roster is all but assured as Jeff Hardy is said to be dealing with a number of issues right now, not the least of which includes alleged nerve issues that's affecting one of his arms. These injuries are really why WWE hasn't done a whole helluva lot with Hardy as champion and why he was kept out of the men's MITB ladder match, so it sounds like ER is where he'll be written of TV so he can take time off to heal up and do whatever needs to be done.

Seems all those daredevil stunts are finally catching up with Jeff unfortunately.

I haven't been watching WWE lately but I was interested when Jeff won the US title. The injuries would explain why he hasn't been doing much.

I expect it to be perfectly fine if a little restrained in terms of spots. Nakamura could definitely do with the win since he hasn't won anything since the Rumble and Styles won their feud. A US title run could definitely build Nakamura back up

Nakamura needs a long title defense to validate his spot near the top of the card. I would also face turn him back in his match with Jeff Hardy. He works much better as a face in my opinion.
