Lest think for a moment,Cena was a great champ...but that title win at Unforgiven2006,when did he put it on the line.Yeah inside a steel cage with edge I think but Dx came in.
Now his PPV title matchs.
It was against Edge in a TLC match. I still remember the promo.
Edge: This is a match YOU'VE never had, a match I'VE never lost!
Cena won.
NO MERCY(No that Smackdown)
Cybersunday(no booker t did)
Survivor series(no tag team match)
Armageddon(no Smackdown, was in tag match with batista)
In all fairness, PPV's were not tri-branded until January 2007. He had a great extended feud with Edge until the tri-branded PPV's where he had several feuds, beginning with Umaga.
Four PPV and not one title defence, yeah No Mercy dosen't count but still its a PPV.This is like 3-4months on that 12month title run.
Edge from September 2006 until January. Umaga until the Road to Wrestlemania. Shawn Michaels for Wrestlemania. HBK, Orton, AND Edge all at once after that.... Khali for a couple of months.... Survived a multi-man match at Night of Champions.... Lashley in July.... Orton for 2 months.
He had a calendar year's worth of title feuds. All were great, even Khali.
Do you take that away, make it 9 or 8.This was the problem, his first PPV title match was Umaga.Who he beat with a ROLL UP!!!
He still beat him. Cena ended Umaga's undefeated streak.
This guy is smashing everybody and his first lose is a roll up.Did Cena put the title on the line at NO WAY OUT 2007,...No cause he's Cena.At Backlash 2007 he fell on orton,FELL,i'll say it again FELL.
Every man for himself in Fatal Fourways, not to mention they are unpredictable.
Judgement Day,Khali's foot was under the bottem rope,Unforgiven Cena got DQ,DQ.If it was Orton Oh no he's a weak shit.
Those were still good feuds, Cena overcame the odds after taking on all challenges. Like a true champion.
This reign is nothing they came up with some match so he didn't have to put the title on the line each month.
That's not true, they came up with a new match each month (or every other month when the PPV's weren't tri-branded yet) and he always overcame the odds until he got a real injury that was so bad that he couldn't do No Mercy 2007. Cena was the best champion because he always accepted all challenges and overcame the odds.
I'm willing to debate this further if you still disagree.
