After Money in the Bank, the entire landscape of the WWE changed and gave way to a new era, and a new man in charge. Triple H was tested right away, as he signed CM Punk to a new contract which was a popular decision, however it turned out to be regretful as Punk showed the new C.O.O. he wasn't going to shut up or show any respect for his authority. With two WWE Champions on the same show, Triple H made the decision to use Summerslam to determine a sole holder of the title, and inserted himself into the match as the special referee stating that he was the only one he could trust. The goal of the match, to decide the undisputed Champion, seemed to be the answer to many questions. However, at the end of the night, despite a sole Champion being crowned, the WWE universe were left with more questions than they were answers.
