WTF is a British Accent?

I speak Cockney, Also am very well spoken there's no such thing as a british accent but their is different english accents depending on where your from of course!

It doesn't matter, all I know is girls with British accents are the best. I don't know why, it's just hot. End of story.

My whole family have scouse accents, I kind of do, but not so much. I imagine Sam sounds more like the Australians on here than he does like me.

Thia could not be more true. Emma Watson's is amazing. I'm pretty sure that came off extremely creepy.

I was ot aware of the different British accents. So it's kind of like America, where each area of the country talk slightly differently?

The worst accent by far is the yankee accent. Peopole from Boston and New York drive me crazy, I could not live there.

Not slightly, vastly. When I was in New York, I had a nice chat with a guy from Australia. I literally cannot understand people from up North a lot of the time.

:lmao: That would be the funnies part about American accents. instead of saying Brisbane they put a Y in it. everytime JR says it, I can't help but laugh.

I've always said it like Briz-bin.

lol and Mel-born.

And Mel-burn.

I worked with an Aussie at my last job, and he was amazed that I could understand him when's he's drunk.

I think Kate Winslet is a great actress, but her accent pisses me off sometimes. Otherwise, true.

I had a very rough New York accent when I first moved to PA. Now, I don't have one at all. If I'm in the city for more than a few hours, it starts to come back a little. I love the Boston accent though. Some of my favorite bands come from there, too.

For the love of God don't lump the New York accent in with the Boston Southie accent. It's not even remotely the same sound. I suppose I have a classic Italian New Yorker accent when I want to. Usually I can almost completely eliminate it and speak flat, however when I don't think about it or get angry it seems to come out without warning.
When I moved to Louisville KY and told everyone I was from NYC the first thing most of them said was "Oh? You speak so well!" I wonder what the hell they expected me to sound like? Some guido mook straight off the set of Goodfellas? I didn't expect them all to sound like redneck hillbillies...

Anyway, on topic, I enjoy listening to certain British accents. I wouldn't know what to specifically call them though, so I too am guilty of just using the short hand "British accent" tag. Apologies.

I just lumped them together because I find them both equally annoying. No offense if you have one, but I just can't stand them.
