Wrestler's creative directions going forward

Heath Slater's Trainer

Dark Match Jobber
Many of the different characters in WWE are in a state of limbo where they either don't receive enough reaction from the crowd via their gimmick not being over, or creative not having anything for them in their current situation. I've advised some ideas on how some wrestlers can progress with their gimmick further and try and get out of their current bad position. But first, I'll present a few who were recently in a bad creative position but are now on the right track:

"King" Bad News Barrett
Dean Ambrose
The New Day

Barrett was back to being a complete loser despite being the IC champion and having a great, over gimmick. But after losing his belt at WrestleMania and not being able to get his title rematch against Daniel Bryan, Barrett was finally veered away from that belt and quickly became the first King of The Ring in 5 years by defeating Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and Neville in the span of two nights. His new moniker of King Barrett has done him well so far as he has a feud going into the next pay per view and has looked strong and more victorious recently.

Ambrose was, like Barrett, stuck in the IC title abyss where he didn't belong. Not to say the IC title picture is a curse per se, but by the time Ambrose was inserted into feuds involving the belt, he was main event worthy, or at least worthy of a higher caliber. Ambrose developed a neat mini feud with Luke Harper coming out of WrestleMania and gained his first big pay per view win in a while in a great match at Extreme Rules, a pay per view obviously suitable for Dean. Now he's been fast tracked to the main event of Payback in the big title match and, who knows... He might even win!

Pretty much everyone hated the New Day gimmick. They basically just sang, waived around rags and talked about having a good attitude. They were shunned and eventually boo'd and made fun of by the crowd after an uneventful baby face run. But the talented performers were able to harvest this negative attention for a successful heel turn which quickly led to a Freebird Rule tag belt run. The genius about the turn is that they don't act a whole lot different than when they were face, and the crowd just hates them so much. And they've been booked strongly as well.

Now for the gimmicks that need some re-adjusting:

Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel- I don't expect Axel's face turn to last. I believe him and Sandow will win their match at Payback, but Axel will revert to a heel role with Sandow going elsewhere. I think that Axel's gimmick of constantly saying how good he is goes hand to hand with Bo's inspirational gimmick and they can add depth to the tag division while working on their characters.

Damien Sandow- The current alliance with Axel just seems like a place over story for Sandow and Axel to have something to do and probably get a pre show victory. As mentioned above I think Sandow and Axel will split, maybe with a match with Sandow going over Axel. I then think Sandow should start tweaking his character of imitating people to a multiple personality character. The story could be revealed they the Intellectual Savior was so fed up with losing so much that he created a bunch of different alter egos based on others. It could eventually lead to him going back to his academic gimmick.

Sheamus- Believe of or not, I don't think his return has been compelling so far. He hasn't really done anything or picked up a win of note to substantiate his claims of being dominant. I think he should win the IC belt at EC and have a dominant run, defeating Ziggler in a final match to close their feud, for the title, and then eventually losing the belt to Neville in a built up match, probably at a bigger event like SummerSlam or even all the way in Survivor Series.

Stardust- He has a pretty interesting character going but no good direction. At the minimum, he should pick up regular wins against R-Truth, Zack Ryder, Fandango etc.. until Stardust is ready to enter a proper feud. He can be a good feud for Sandow and/or Neville in the near future. I think later down the line he'll end up IC champ before reverting back to Cody Rhodes in a year or so.

What do you think of the above ideas and who do you think needs some gimmick or placement adjustment in WWE?

Axel and Sandow literally just got together. They're not breaking up anytime soon most likely. Also, you just tried cycling Sandow through multiple comedy gimmicks, leading nowhere but where he's currently at. Any multiple personality character that he could pull off, would certainly be in a comedic fashion.

If you want to talk about someone who needs a stronger gimmick or more personality, that's Neville. You can only fly around the ring so much before people get used to it. If he doesn't get on the mic, people will eventually get bored of him. Frankly, anyone can go and watch people do acrobatics around the ring. Only the hardcore fans don't get tired of it. The casuals need someone to get invested in. That requires personality. Even DB had to get on the mic to really get over. I do understand they have to build his credibility (and matches like the one with Cena help that a lot), but eventually he's going to need to keep everyone hooked emotionally.

I think if they plan to bring sheamus back to the main event he should interupt an over wrestler and complete destroy him and put him on the shelf then sheamus should have a big list of the top say 10 wwe superstars and take them out one by one and tick there names off he should bring this down to the ring everytime he has a match or if he cuts a promo have this last a good few months until he gets (a face) wwe champ and have a program with him with the pay off after a dude Which spans 3-4 months sheamus goes over

Neville does just seem to have no more character than running out with a cape, since his main roster debut at least. He should definitely start speaking more soon, but I'm not really sure what he's going to have to say.

I think the cruiser weight title should be brought back with all the talent on the card.
They could even have a similar situation to what tna do at destination x once a year at over the limit or something
I think this would keep guys like Neville, zayn, sin cara, kalisto can build solid feuds work on their characters and mic work and transition into the main event picture

I'd say bring back the cruiserweight belt only if the US title is unified with the IC belt and the WHC is brought back, I think that would be the best belt setup at this point. The former Sheild members, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and someone new in the title picture like Dolph Ziggler could fight for the WWE title, while the WHC is held by King Barrett and defended like every two weeks on Smackdown and be built up nicely with feuds involving Sheamus, Ziggler, Ambrose, Wyatt and Ryback. The unified IC belt could be competed amongst the likes of Neville, Stardust, Cesaro and Kidd, Jack Swagger, R Truth and Damien Sandow. Like a showcase title. Then the final singles title, Cruiserweight, could have a good division with Zayn, Neville, Sin Cara, Kalisto and a lot of the lighter NXT talent competing for the belt. I think the cruiser weight belt would be best as an NXT/WWE belt defended in all programs.

I think. Having something like what tna do with option c might give the belt more credibility and make it more meaningful to hold as the cruiser weights try to take the next step
