Wrestler = Music Band

OutsiderDX

Getting Noticed By Management
Here a thread that is asking you to compare a wrestler to a musician or band.

Here are a few that I've come up with :

Daniel Bryan = R.E.M.

R.E.M. was a true independent band, but because of talent, they made it to mainstream success. They understand and respect music as an art form. Obviously very similar to Byran Danielson who was an indy wrestling legend and because he was so amazing he has now taken his skills to the WWE. I think better than anyone, Danielson understands that quality matches are much more important than anything else.

___

John Cena = Miley Cyrus

Cyrus is talentless but has the backing of the Disney in order to shove her and her merchandise upon people. She relies solely on the support of lil teenies for her success. She poses as a singer, but is just a creation of the corporation and has zero substance to her music.

John Cena is even more talentless, but relies on the backing of Vince McMahon. Cena only appealing to lil kids who in turn buy his merchandise. John Cena poses as a wrestler but has done nothing to ever improve in his trade, and enjoys being a “superstar” and has no desire to be a wrestler.

____

Undertaker = Metallica

Metallica started off as the baddest and most successful band on the planet. Rocking for years and years. In a strive for change, they eventually cut their hair. The years of performing has taken the toll on Hetfield’s voice and they now rely on name recognition only. In the end will still be viewed as one of the best rock bands ever.

The Undertaker had a longevity of success from early on. He cut his hair and continued on. But the amount of time in the ring and on the road has turned him into a man breaking down. He rightfully gets by on the name and aura he created. He has set his legacy as a top 5 wrestler ever.

Edge = Guns n' Roses

His gimmick says it all, quite frankly didn't he say he was the GNR of wrestling as well? This guy is the definition (or was) the definition of a bad ass rock star who would do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. Not only that but look at his ladder matches and TLC matches, they're very high risk. Guns n Roses music is very high risk as well in terms of content and meaning.

Kane = Marlyn Manson

Marlyn Manson and Kane are fraks of nature. They use their music/Wrestling skills to express his feelings, that aren't ussualy pleasent. They wear some kind of masks. They both have evil gimmicks and love playing with fire.

Evan Bourne = Dragonforce.

Fast and high flying, beloved by a small niche of fans who seem to understand what it is he does, will probably never make it legitimately big.

By the way, Outsider DX, your comparison of Cena to Cyrus is ludicrous and makes me wonder what you honestly know about wrestling. This idea that Cena is talentless is so far off base its insane.

nWo = Slipknot

It's simply hard to keep track of their numbers.

But in all seriousness, I would probably say:

DX = System of a Down
This is the HHH lead DX with Chyna, X-Pac, and the New Age Outlaws. They weren't really concerned with what anyone else was doing and just decided to do what pleased them. Neither group can really be described by just one style. Also, look at the whole WCW raid. SOAD don't really consider themselves "political" but that raid against Turner was more than likely HHH's brain child and probably one of the last ideas the Clique had before splitting up.

Shawn Michaels is Aerosmith. They took off huge in the 70's but drugs and egos cause them to break up for almost 4 years and were some They cleaned up and had HUGE comeback and actually became bigger than they were before.

Bret Hart is Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Just a great consistent storyteller year after year writing amazing songs.

Undertaker is Metallica? But Undertaker never had a "load" period of time. American Badass doesn't count since he wasn't slow or lacking in badassery.

Chris Jericho = Fozzy Fozzy's music is nice heavy metal with a good edge to it. Almost like a heavier power metal type band. With their vocalist it seems like they could adapt to anything, just like Jericho can.

:rolleyes:

I see what you did there.

Also, Cena=Cyrus

WTF!? :wtf:

Okay, we get you don't like Cena, but he's not talentless, he's at worst just lazy, and besides lately he's actually been doing, y'know, WRESTLING, and doing a damn good job of it, so it really doesn't hold much water.

CM Punk=Killswitch Engage. High power, high octane, heavy, fast-paced rock. Add in the fact that they are straight-edge, and well, you've got CM Punk in band form.

when i first read the title of this thread i was like wtf is this about and now that i've read it... very creative! and a good idea bro! Tho I gotta disagree with Cena Miley I'd have to say he's Eminem and not just for the white rapper comparisons but also because they both are VERY hard working despite being different from all the previous ppl before them who were successful and also both maintain their top status despite becoming watered down as their popularity grew.

I really like some of the other peoples comparisons on here too like Bret = Tom Petty - Brilliant!

The KISS demon = KISS.

No, i'm kidding...

I'd go with Randy Orton = Avenged sevenfold.
Young, but he's been around a while. He can work nice, fast paced matches, but does even better working a slower, more meaningful pace. He's a little unpredictable, and intense.

I guess I can see AJ as G'n'R in that you love to watch them do what they do best because they are great at it, but you really really don't want to hear them talk just like axl.

Maybe cena is closer to say Rhianna. Fairly talented, but you've just seen so much of them that you don't wanna ever have to again.

Oh and favorite for any british people would be eric young as hot chip, sounds ridiculous and stupid at first but you get caught off guard by the inoffensive playful charm and get trapped into liking them.

I guess Paramore would have to be the Miz then, overated.

Raven : Nirvana

They both are desolate, angsty, and grunge. Both send messages of despair and pain, and both have there group of loyal and understanding fans. Plus Scott Levy as a man is a genius, and I view Cobain as a genius himself.

To add to the John Cena Nickleback comparison, both are extremely polarizing. Also, both have talent than many like to admit.

Mr. Perfect = Led Zeppelin

Both are classic, deep, and well thought out. Not to mention they have similar fan bases. Their fans tend to be people who have supported them for years and years or the younger generation of fan who has just discovered the classic stuff and has become hooked on it.

Cody Rhodes - Backstreet Boys

From the image obsession, to the poxiness of their personalities, Cody Rhodes suits the Backstreet Boys to a tee. Nobody can stand either.
