The Questions I would like to ask about the match are:

  1. Was the feud going into the match good?
  2. Was the match entertaining?
  3. Was there good story-telling? (Psychology)
  4. Was there any good spots?
  5. How was the crowds reaction throughout this match?
  6. Length of match? (Was it too short? or too long?, could more time have been added to make the match better? etc.)

1. Was the feud going into the match good? the foeud was based ove rthe fact Angle was jealous of HBK's past in 1996 as he felt people should of been talking about him in teh Olympics, an the weeks leading up to it with a Ladder Match, Sherri an the match with Marty was classic Angle stuff.
2. Was the match entertaining? Very, was on the edge of my seat, this was another one of HBK's best performances and could of closed the show.
3. Was there good story-telling? Oh yes very good, Angle doing everything he could to beat him and even yelling at him to stay down.
4. Was there any good spots? Angle slam into the post, the shock superkick after Angle dragged HBK up, when Angle tried to german him of the apron an HBK low blowed him and also HBKs springboard onto Angle on the announce table.
5. How was the crowds reaction throughout this match? Great i was quite surprised Angle got some cheers.
6. Length of match? Just perfect, we saw everything 25+ mins of action in a truely great contest!!

In my opinion everything about this match was damn near perfect. Including the build up to it were Angle brought in people from HBK's past. Like Sheri and Marty Jannety, all of it was classic. The match itself was definitely the highlight of that Wrestlemania. It was a back and forth exciting match that had everyone at the edge of their seat. They probably should of had that match go on least. The crowd was so into that match they were pretty much dead for the two title matches. It may very well go down as the greatest Wrestlemania match of all time.

1. I honestly do not remember as this has been a while but if it was HBK and Kurt Angle chances are it was. Plus the promo gave all the information that was needed so yes I would say this match's build up was very good, especially when compared to the lazy buildups we see more often than not in the last couple years

2. This match was extremely entertaining! I remember this match being good but I actually took the time to rewatch it today and damn this could be a top 25 match of all time. It's definitely a "5 star match" if there ever was one. With mat work towards the beginning and the bumps both men took, and the multiple kick outs off of finishers towards the end this match had it all.

3 Definitely, this is probably textbook of how a match is supposed to tell a story. Kurt Angle beat HBK cleanly, but the match showed how much resiliency and determination Michaels had on the grandest stage of them all.

4. Several good spots especially during the second half of the match, including the cross body drop off the top rope by HBK, an Angle Slam off of the top rope, and HBK's springboard onto the table. Plenty of "holy sh*t" moments to keep the crowd happy

5. The crowd was hot during the entire match. What surprised me is that it was split about 50/50 for each man even though Angle was a heel at the time. HBK got some boos, which I didn't really understand as the match took place in Hollywood not Canada .

6. The match may have went a little long at about 30 minutes but who cares? In this particular case, there was not "too much of a good thing." Loved the match.

One of the best matches I've ever seen. Obviously I'm a huge Angle mark, and at the time I was hugely anti-HBK. So this watch put my most loved and hated (kayfabe) head to head. I loved Angle's antics going in. I loved how those two could make a headlock last 4 minutes and have the crowd be as hot as they were just for that. All the big spots were well done. The Angle Slam into the post was cool (even though it was Michaels' leg not his back that hit it; they should have pointed that out, and how Angle did it to weaken his ankle.) The length was just fine, they managed to go long enough that the crowd got the pay off, and not too long they died out. The only scuff on this diamond is Angle's near miss on the kick out near the end.

I love Kurt Angle, I really do and am waiting until he retires and WWE release his Best of DVD. The content will be superb. And I love Shawn Michaels. I loved him when in 1999 (whilst he was out for 4 years) I was watching clips of his first Main Event run. I loved him when he returned. The man works a great match, has a great personality and is just a star. But I didn't really love this match as everyone else has. I give it 4 at best. It was so slow to me, and not in a Angle-Benoit enjoyable slow.

The one thing that always pushes this match up for me is the Anklelock scenario at the end with HBK trying desperately to survive. I loved this bit, it was phenomenal.

I'm a huge fan of Angle and big fan of HBK as well. But you can read many of my older posts and find out this is my favorite match of all time. I certainly feel from a psychology/skill standpoint, it is the greatest Wrestlemania match of all time. Hands down. It seriously had it all. Great spots, great storytelling, great everything. Many people prefer the Jericho/HBK match to this one from WM19 and I still don't really understand why. While I believe it's a great match, the HBK/Angle one is clearly better in every sense of the word. I can't even form a complete logical thought about this match because it really was that damn good. Plus, Kurt Angle won a gold medal with a broken freakin' neck!!!

1.Was the feud going into the match good?
It was pretty good, the feud especially on Kurt's part was kind of interesting, bringing Jannetty and then Sherri, the rap was just hilarious and we saw a different side to Kurt..

2.Was the match entertaining?
Without a doubt.. Could be WrestleMania's greatest match of all time.. These 2 are arguably the best in-ring performers ever and this match proved that.

3.Was there good story-telling? (Psychology)
A lot of story-telling.. If you want a good match with fanstastic story-telling, look no further, you look at this match rioht here.. How long was HBK in that ankle lock before tapping? He just wouldn't quit..

4.Was there any good spots?
There were quite a few good spots in this match, when you have a showman and a technician in the ring, you're promised good spots.. The srpingboard being one of my favourites..

5.How was the crowds reaction throughout this match?
The crowd was much into this and kept the match alive for near 30 mins.. Great crowd and Angle despite being a heel, got some well deserved cheers.

6.Length of match? (Was it too short? or too long?, could more time have been added to make the match better? etc.)
These 2 gave it all, like I said a showman and a technician in the ring like these 2 and you're guaranteed a great match, heck, I think they could have gone on longer.. But for what it's worth, the match was awesome!
