Dark Match Winner
I thought Summerslam was really good (except I had to fast forward through Big Show, Divas and about 30 commercials). I think I might see the path WWE is taking to next Wrestlemania, so I'll try to predict it here.
At Night of Champions, I believe Seth Rollins will be put through the ringer. First, he will lose his US title to Cena, then the WWE title to Sting. How long Sting will hold the title is hard to say. The obvious choice would be Sheamus cashing in on Sting as soon as he wins, but I hope WWE has more respect for Sting than that. Also, I don't think I could stand Sheamus being champion from September through Wrestlemania. I think Sting will successfully defend the WWE title until perhaps December, where he will then get cashed in on, and have an unsuccessful rematch with Sheamus at Royal Rumble. Either way, there is almost no chance of Sting still holding the title until Wrestlemania.
As for Seth Rollins, he will fail to regain his titles in October, perhaps again at Survivor Series, and the Authority will lose faith in him. They will start personally targeting him, making sure he loses contenders matches and the Royal Rumble. Rollins slowly builds into a renegade and then the face of the anti authority movement, leading to an inevitable match with Triple H at WM.
It seems obvious that the Undertaker/Lesnar match was setting up for a tiebreaker at WM. However, I think, as part of a farewell tour of sorts, that this match will happen at Survivor Series. Whether he wins or loses, this leaves Taker free to challenge Sting at WM 32. In their hometowns, with a possible retirement match stipulation, this match has to happen. I don't care if they're 60. Both men proved in the last two days that they can still fight, fly, and fall through tables. Taker vs Sting will go down as one of the greatest matches of all time, just because of the legacy they bring, the history, and the sheer respect the world has for them. It needs to happen.
Brock Lesnar will face The Rock, because it practically prints money.
Who will win the Royal Rumble and face Sheamus at Wrestlemania? Sheamus is a great performer, but can't really connect with the audience. He's perfect to stay as a loudmouth heel for the foreseeable future, so it would make sense for the most popular face to win and liberate him of the title at WM. The most obvious choices for WWE fans would probably be Dolph Ziggler or Dean Ambrose, but WWE officials seem very hesitant to hand either man the reigns just yet. Speaking of Reigns, he's also likely to win RR, even though he just did, and the powers that be snatched away his moment of glory. I think he'd be a better choice to win as a full-on heel if a babyface like Cena somehow became champ. And Cena winning RR yet again and facing Sheamus for the title at WM? That would be the absolute worst outcome I could think of. Please, just no. Other strong candidates to win include Barrett, Wyatt, Rusev or Orton, but most of those would require, once again, for us to ignore the fact that Sheamus has that briefcase. And we don't want to see Orton vs. Sheamus part 502.
Will Ryback still be IC champion? Who will carry the US title till Wrestlemania? I think any member of either New Day or Prime Time Players is overdue for a huge singles push, title reign, and possible future contendership for the WWE world title. Except Xavier.
Here's the predicted matches:
Undertaker vs. Sting. Career match.
Triple H vs. Seth Rollins. If Trips loses, he's no longer COO.
Sheamus (WWE World champion) defends against Dean Ambrose (Royal Rumble winner)
Brock Lesnar vs. The Rock
Dudley Boys (Tag team champs) defend against some other legends like Bradshaw and Ron Simmons
Divas title match with some celebrities or something
Dolph Ziggler (IC champion) defends against Daniel Bryan
John Cena (US champion) defends against Titus O'neil
Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt in Hell in a Cell
Battle Royal to throw in everyone else.
