Wrestlemania 26: Battle Royal?

.you.lose.
This is mainly in response to the WWE dropping the Money in the Bank Ladder match at Wrestlemania in favor of a Money in the Bank PPV later in the year. Many (even within the WWE) have expressed grief over the talent that may not even make the card, so I started thinking of possible solutions.

Then I thought back to the early Wrestlemanias (namely Wrestlemania 2) which featured a 20 man battle royal. It wasn't really for something major, like Money in the Bank, but it did offer a wide variety of talent a place on the card. My question to you is: would a battle royal work on the card of Wrestlemania 26?

It could have a stipulation, such as a future title shot, be for money (kayfabe), or simply for inter-promotional bragging rights. I'll leave that up to you. I just want to know if bringing back this Wrestlemania match would be an appropriate way to showcase the talent that may otherwise be "left out".

Shoot me some thought or opinions on how you think this would impact the Wrestlemania card. Would you want it? Would you watch it? How would you make it happen?

FUCK FUCK FUCK!why did WWE move the money in the bank match?

But yea i remember that battle royal with bret hart as the runner up.it would be pretty cool but i dont think wwe was 20 people to spare.all i can think of is a 9 man with 3 people from each brand.

I could see a 20 man battle royal for show bragging rights, or do it like MLB does, and the winning side gets the final match of the night...so, if Raw wins, the Raw main event closes the show, if Smackdown wins, the Smackdown main event closes the show. Or something like, the winning side gets a free draft pick when they redo the draft, something like that. I don't think you can get away with a battle royal just for the sake of having a battle royal anymore, you have to have it mean something.

I actually thought about this earlier when I was thinking up the potential WM card, there will be too much time to spare to not have a match similar to this. It depends how they go with the US/IC titles, whether its singles/fatal four ways or whatever, but I like the idea that the winner becomes the number one contender, but it's exactly the same as the Royal Rumble then. So what about a 4/6 man battle royal with pin/submission eliminations? Or it could be a bigger one for a shot at say the IC title later in the night or whatever.

Wwe didnt drop the MITB latter match at mania! why did you just assume that? this match is going to happen so i have no reason to answer your question except to say that no offense but alot of you posters on here fear the worst without even knowing all the facts

WWE did a battle royal for the ECW championship a couple of years ago at Wrestlemania 24. It wasn't that big of a deal because the ECW title was the thrid rate world championship in the company, so It's not like who ever won was going to have a Wrestlemania moment later on in the night, and Kane's squash of Chavo wasn't memorable at all.

If the ECW championship was still around, then yeah there's a chance WWE might do this, and I would like to see it because it could shed some spotlight on the ECW title at the biggest show of the year. Although, the ECW title is gone, and I think the MITB is enough with the winner receiving a future title shot for the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship.

Maybe, before they started doing it as a token pre-show match for those who didnt have a proper match.
Also, MITB is unique to Mania, well it was, battle royals are not. They have those as/when they please and although they are entertaining, they would not compare to what would be seen in MITB.
And in response to HBK619, your response is probably exactly why. WWE now think you will part with money in order to see the MITB alone because it is that good.
