If this match is to actually happen, I would be quite excited. Hopefully it would not involve a championship though, as we all know with Undertaker he would automatically win.
What the fuck are you on about? Champions have retained titles quite routinely at Mania in recent years, Cena having done it twice. He's also won the belt at Mania twice. Cena has just as much of a chance in a championship match as Taker.
If anything, it's the streak that throws things in Taker's favor. Championships being involved in this match indicate nothing.
If a championship were not involved in the match, it would at least give the feeling that Cena might win the match.
What I just said. See above.
A match against Cena would be one of the only times other then last year that Taker's streak might actually be in jeopardy, or at least feel like it is.
You thought Michaels had a chance? Come on... The build was good, but Michaels is too old and not willing enough to heel it up to really run with the rub. It was meant to be
that Mania classic, and it delivered/everyone's self-fulfilling prophecy of an epic match came true.
Cena is the first real contender to take the streak since Orton. Henry never had a chance, Edge winning something that big goes against the picture his short title reigns have painted about his place in the company, and WM23 was just Taker's time.
Cena is a real contender.
If this match were to happen though, Cena would obviously not necessarily turn heel, so much as just be the one that doesn't get cheered in the match.
Duh. Doesn't mean considering the chance isn't worth it this time. Over the last few years, the discussion has been had so much that it sort of devalues what we have here.
Cena vs. Kayfabe's Last Stand in The Streak
People will shit bricks if Cena chokes Taker out and makes it 17-1.
The heel discussion is more worth having now than ever. The logistics of new top faces are sketchy, but we'll cross that bridge later. Orton is mega over in some circles and could turn, Edge will likely come back as a face, we'll always have at least one DX member as a face... Surely this could work if the company wanted to take a chance.
Don't let the fact that the heel turn discussion is over-done blind you to how important the discussion is right now.
JUST BECAUSE CENA WOULD BE THE CLEAR HEEL DOESN'T MEAN HIS WILL ACTUALLY BE HEEL .
If he wins, it better damn well be. The streak ending marking the biggest heel turn of the 2010s and ringing in the new decade in style... Why else would the streak end? For Cena to continue with business as usual? Pfft. Puh-lease.
If Cena's a real contender, we need to talk heel turn.
