Wrestlemania 26- All Purpose Thread (Do NOT post entire Mania cards in here)

For me, it's kinda like I want to see it but I don't. I want to see it for the simple fact its two of the greatest of all time going at on the biggest stage. But the fact that 1. It happened last year and 2. Both men's health (Taker's especially) has declined since WM 25. It's not like either man has anything to prove anymore, sure it would probably be better for the future to have someone like Kofi, Dibiase, or maybe even Swagger face one of them to elevate them, but the simple fact that everyone knows is that having Taker-HBK 2 at Mania will draw big. I think we all know now that it's not even really about the product, it's not about the older loyal fans 100% of the time, maybe about 5% at best, it's about whatever will draw money, and that's kids. So I personally wouldn't want to see it again, but IMO it will happen

I don't personally want to see this match at WM again because of all the reason's previously stated. One reason i feel HBK and UT match at main was so special was because of the time that had elapsed since their last feud. We had to wait eleven years for them to come together again so the fans wanted to see it. I'm not to sure if the buzz around this match at wrestlemainia for a second year running would be the same.

Planty (like 3 posts above) has an awesome idea
i'd love to see shawn as a heel again, but wouldn't want to see taker HBK rematch i think Jericho V Taker with Jericho breaking the streak :p

Regarding Taker/Shawn II at Wrestlemania 26, why, either they will do a disqualification or something, I can not see them giving the win to shawn to end his streak, Give the Streak ending win to an up-and-comer not someone whole has pretty much done everything in wrestling, held many titles ect, give the win to a guy which will hopefully boost his career not a guy who will be retiring soon down the road.

to give the win to shawn, exactlly what will that do for him, I beat the undertaker and ended his streak, wow, now give it to a guy who is just starting out, at least it will get him noticed, Shawn is already a house hold name and so is undertaker.

Im with the group of people who dont wanna see this. Not that i think it would be a bad match, but its been done, and i honestly do not think they could top the 'Mania 25 match. Both of these men are at the stages in their careers to where they serve bigger roles in WWE, as the elevation to younger talent. Win, lose or draw, you look damn good if you are in a program with Shawn Michaels or Undertaker.

I think it should definately be Undertaker vs John Cena and DX vs The Hart Dynasty at WrestleMania 26

I really want to see this match again as it is my favorite match ever, I just don't want it to be at Wrestlemania. Why would I want to pay for a match I saw last year, I want to see HBK vs. HHH and Taker vs. Cena. HBK shouldn't lose 2 years in a row and I want the streak to never end. If I was writing for WWE and what I want to see is Monday when they announce Bret Hart for guest host on Jan. 4th. have him announce that two of his former rivals will be going at it next week then on Jan 4th when WWE goes up against TNA have HBK - Taker II in the main event. I think if you had Bret Hart coming back and a HBK - Taker match you would kill TNA in the rating and everybody will get another classic HBK - Taker match and it isn't wasting a spot on Wrestlemania were you can have new matches.

When I first saw Shawn challenge Taker to another match at Mania I had one thought pop in my head...Hell in a Cell. I know these guys are getting old and WWE is going PG so Hell in a Cell is weak, but think about it. These two were in the first ever Hell in a Cell. It was a revolutionary match for the WWE. It also saw the debut of Kane. Taker had the match won until Kane came in and cost Taker the match.

I was thinking they could try and duplicate that match to a degree. The younger kids weren't around to see or remember that match, and the people from the attitude era could enjoy one last cell match with the originals. Shawn has already said he is going to take time off after Mania and im assuming Taker will too if he doesn't retire. This would actually give the audience who doesn't read the internet an excuse why they are missing from tv.

This was just an idea that popped in my head if they decide to go through witht the match.

Wrestlemania 25's match was probably the best match I've ever seen, but I dont like the idea of doing it again. That was a classic and should only be done once. Don't get me wrong if this match happens I'm ordering the PPV for sure but I don't think they should risk tarnishing a classic. Plus I dont think I can take seeing HBK lose to Taker again, if he loses.

how is it any different than any other sport? how many times have the damn bears played the packers for example, yet the fans still care about seeing it. Take the "fake" aspect out for a second and suspend ur belief and look at it this way. two great athletes, one with an undefeated streak, who we know can put on a great match. now also doesnt it make sense that a competitor the caliber of HBK with the pride he has would want to reclaim some glory on his last run? This is bigger than a title, it makes sense that HBK would want a rematch.

Theres been talk of The Hart Dynasty & Bret Hart talking on DX and Mr. McMahon at WrestleMania 26.

Theres even been talk about Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels II at WrestleMania 26.

But what about Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels? I know Bret is getting up their in years (52) but supposedly he has been training to fight once again, so could this happen or would you want one of the other two choices to happen before this came about? Discuss

I've read on WrestleZone that WWE is planning on HBK vs Taker II, Sheamus vs HHH and Edge vs Jericho for WrestleMania XXVI, and IMO, I would love to see those matches happen.

but here's what the rest of the card would look like:

Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon in a Street Fight

John Cena vs Batista II

Randy Orton vs Ted DiBiase

Money in the Bank Ladder Match V
Kofi Kingston vs. John Morrison vs. Evan Bourne vs. Christian vs. Benjamin vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. MVP vs. Matt Hardy

CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio

I made a point in another thread about this situation. It all depends if Bret and Shawn worked out their differences and buried the hatchet enough for Bret to tolerate Shawn in the same room, in working terms. I've been wondering if the last frew months of Bret Hart interviews in which he's bashed WWE TV, HBK, HHH, DX have all been a work to build the angle. If Shawn broke down in front of Bret, apologized, and explained his feelings to him at the time Bret might do business with him to an extent, but he's heard that whole thing from Shawn before back in 1997 all the times they would shoot on each other, cross the line, apologize, and go at it again. If he's coming back to RAW it will be inevitable that he and Shawn cross paths so let's hope they make the best of it. Bret can't work like he used to, but he can probably throw some punches and put the sharpshooter on. If its not a street fight I don't see him working in the ring. Also, in his condition could he trust Shawn? I'm not saying HBK isn't trustworthy but for all the stuff he did to Bret and the lies he's told to his face why would Bret trust him in his condition? I know Shawn's born again and changed but he still thinks he's a phony liar.

Well, I dont think it will happen but I have to say it will proally be more of a emotional match then a wrestleing match. Plus it would be a nastlgia fest for a lot of fans.

Well.. hm. How possible is that first off?? Really? But anyway, of all people you want Bret to fight Shawn?? Do they really have a reason to fight? They just genuinely don't like each other (well Bret at least doesn't). But Bret's real beef lies with Vince. And a match with Vince with absolutely suck. Right? It wouldn't be much of a match. I think Bret's main reason for coming back to the WWE is to push Hart Dynasty, and to bury the hatchet. And he won't bury the hatchet with Shawn by just having a match with him. Or Vince for that matter (even though he's a lot closer to burying the hatchet w/ Vince.)

So I don't know, I guess I was just confused in the point of Bret fighting Shawn or Vince directly. But I'll go ahead and share what I'd like to see from Bret in his return:

-Only if he could go for more than one match. I'd match rather see him in even just a couple fresh matches just for fun. You know, kinda spar with some ofthe younger guys. Not necessarily high-profile matches. But if he can't proform at least near the level he used to than theres no point.

-Since if he is actually considering just one match, then that match would have to tie in EVERYTHING he set out to do, while giving him enough wiggle-room at the same time (since he probably can't handle a full-on 25-30 minute classic match on his own anymore). So in that case I'd like to see Hart Dynasty & Bret Hart -vs- DX & Mr. McMahon. Even though DX teaming up with Vince doesn't make ANY SENSE AT ALL. I mean.. what? They're supposed to hate each other and DX teaming with Vince would cease to make them DX anymore, they'd no longer be degenerates or the anti-authority type. But they have gone PG and soft lately, so maybe. And maybe if Vince isn't Mr. McMahon the chairman and instead just Mr. McMahon the man. That would be more genuine anyway. In other words, they could make it work if they wanted to.

-Just a genuine handshake on-air with Shawn.

-One more return to Canada. He would get a better ovasion than Hogan ever got! Trust me!

-Maybe have a good little segment discussion in the middle of the ring (which I know he's gonna do anyway!)

Other than that, I just wanna see him have a little fun there! No matter what. ^_^

"Even though DX teaming up with Vince doesn't make ANY SENSE AT ALL. I mean.. what? They're supposed to hate each other and DX teaming with Vince would cease to make them DX anymore, they'd no longer be degenerates or the anti-authority type."

I'll handle this in order here. DX teaming up with Vince would make complete sense. Why? Because HHH is his son in law and Bret hates Shawn. Obviously that gives WWE creative some room to write. Could you really be that blind not to see that? Also, I dont know if you have noticed but DX haven't been anti-authority or rebellious since they reformed, or have you missed the lame comedy sketches and product hawking? For god sakes their main storyline right now involves them with a midget.

i would love to see that. i think shawn would have to carry bret no offence to the best there is but its been 10yrs since bret has been in the ring. it can be a decent match prob one of the top matches at mania but not the best. i would love to see vince screw hbk this time and help bret out

The madness ends now. No way in hell should this match ever take place at any time under any circumstances. First off, who even knows that Bret can even still wrestle right way. If Bret Hart returns to the wrestling ring, I am sure that he would want to do it if he was 100%, being the true professional he is. Second, I doubt Hart would want to work a tag match if all things with Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Plus it doesn't even make sense to have Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith working with DX at Wrestlemania. As good as a tag team that the Hart Dynasty is, they are still getting beat by teams like Cryme Time for goodness sakes. They need more buildup and more time to establish themselves as credible contenders rather than just being thrown into the mix. Third, if Bret came back, I'm sure he would come back as a face. And I'm sure that if WWE went through with this, it would screw everything up.

I could see them doing a tag match as has been mentioned. I also agree that DX has no reason to team with Vince, but what if they worked some kind of angle where DX was forced to tag with Vince. I'm sure that they could do something where DX would be stripped of the tag titles or something if they don't comply. I can't say I have any idea what they would do about the impending HBK-Taker match at WM unless they work the other match on a different PPV. But a match as big as a Bret Hart comeback match HAS to be WM material.

I have no desire to see Bret Hart wrestle HBK at WM26, or ever. In my mind, Bret has a lot of repairing his legacy to do, and the only way he can do that is to give back to the business and help the younger guys get over somehow.

You are all forgetting who you are talking about here. This is Bret Frickin Hart you are talking about. He is one of the greatest of all time. If anyone could ever do a comeback match its him. You guys are obviously from a different generation if you do not know the skills of Bret Hart.

Seriously...are some of you people actually THAT out of it???

Bret had a stroke, and is lucky to even walk today....he is in no condition to do any sort of match...much less one with HBK at Wrestlemania....he could freakin' potentially DIE in the ring...

The problem I see here is Bret Hart being able to "trust" Vince McMahon. It was found that he couldnt in1997, when he had been such a loyal employee to him for 13 years. After re-reading Harts book again, I just cannot see Hart and HBK/HHH being in the same ring together and doing business. The entire DX shtick makES hART SICK APPARENTLY, SO THE ONLY WAY i CAN SEE hART on tv is against Vince only. Bret has his view of what happened 12 years ago, so the only way this can work is if the fans are behind Bret on this, and Vicne would in turn have to play along with Brets view of the events that took place in 1997. Hart vs Michaels will never happen, let alone at Wrestlemania. The closer it gets, my gut tells me Vince will completely bomb this potential money maker. The only way it can work is if Vince says it was a work all along and Hart going against it. Who knows, but if I see Hart on ECW, Im throwing WWE in for good

Trust me man....I know who Bret Hart is. I bought his dvd probably the only WWE dvd I ever bought and I can't tell you how many times I've watched it. That's why I said what I said. If Bret Hart came back to the wrestling ring to compete, I think he would only do that under the circumstances that he could do it to the best of his ability. He wrestled his entire without injuring anyone. That's the mark of a true professional. I think he consistently produce the best results.......nothing more nothing less. And if he can't do that, I believe that won't. I'm not saying that he still can't but I doubt he will strap on the wrestling boots again considering all that he's been through. Now, I am excited that he's returning to the WWE, but I think his role will be more along the lines of something else. However, in the event that he can wrestle just as well as when he stopped, I wouldn't want to see him in a match with DX. I would much rather see him wrestle someone like Jericho....in a Canada's best wrestler match or something like that. The Montreal Screwjob is over and done with let it die. I think they already brought closure to it when the put the dvd out and inducted Bret into the HOF.

to shadowmaster:

why do you assume that DX wouldnt be the natural heels against Bret and The Hart Dynasty. It's largely the opinion of the wrestling community that Vince screwed Bret and shawn did nothing or even knew and participated in the screw job(i.e planning, or didnt object to it) either way they'd blame shawn and vince so the storyline would fit. plus, i'm pretty sure they could build up hart dynasty enough to participate in a 6 man tag match when they have Shamus as the champ.

Let me just first say..... The only way I would even remotely enjoy taker v kane is if the big red machine reverted back to the hell, fire, and brimstone masked psycho that all bowed down to. If he came back @ wm26 for that showddown.... I would definitely flood the ppv gate with my buy. But back to the script. Mitb should b very interesting this year, my 6...matt hardy, gold standard, evan bourne, miz, mvp, (who definitely needs a push by the company.. Wait didn't they try that?)N Regal, (who's underrated might I add).

As good as their match was this past march, taker v hbk 2 would b a helluva bout just on the fact that both performers know what they did was special and both have what it takes 2 do the even better this year. The only stipulation that I personally would like 2 add.. Would definitely have 2 be that it is contested inside hell in the cell. I mean really, when was the last time a hitc match was used at 'mania? When taker hung boss man from the roof? Hmm I can't remember ryte now... Mvp got a good connect!!! (Insert joke here!) N folks that only if taker is champ that he gets the main event spot. I cants say what I would want to headline.... Just so many times I have been disappointed. When will they drop the pg rating? This really was a setback for a beer swillin, hotel room torchin, mudhole stompin, bad guy from new jersey. Let's just hope that wwe creative light's fire's under their own asses as the road to wrestlemania is quickly approaching!
