Fuck honor
OK so now we are comparing WWE wrestlemania 12 that was held at the arrowhead pond (Honda center now) Anaheim California on march 21, 1996. Wrestlemania 24 was held at the Citrus bowl in Orlando, Florida on march 21 2008. I was live at Wrestlemania 24 however that will not in anyway affect my pick.

At Wrestlemania 12....... there is only one match that is constantly mentioned and regarded as one of the greatest matches in the history of wrestling, HBK VS Bret the "hitman" Hart in a 60-minute Iron man match for the WWE championship. Other matches on the card include the ringmaster (SCSA) vs Savio Vega, Undertaker vs diesel, and Rowdy Roddy Piper vs Goldust in a Hollywood Backlot brawl. Yeah Micheals vs Hart was fantastic and far superior to any other match on the card.

At Wrestlemania 24 Shawn Micheals one again stole the show in his match against the soon to be retired (until he went to TNA) Ric flair. The match like the iron man match stole the show. Other matches include John Cena vs Randy Orton vs Triple H for the WWE championship, Undertaker Vs Edge for the World heavyweight championship, Money in the bank ladder match #4, and Floyd Mayweather vs The big show.

MY pick has got to be Wrestlemania 24 because, while the iron match outclassed everything here this had more above average matches than Wrestlemania 12. On a side note the stage set up was gorgeous in person. Not to mention that HBK vs Flair was almost as good as his match with hart in my opinion.

Here are some highlight from both events

Was Wrestlemania 12 superior to Wrestlemania 24 or Is the opposite true? Why?

I thought about it for a while before voting, as this was a difficult choice. Wrestlemania 24 ended up getting my support in the end. As legendary and awesome as the Michaels/Hart Iron Man match was, 24 was the better show because a card with several good matches is superior overall to a show with one amazing match alongside one good one and several average ones.

Ignore the Iron Man match for a moment. There is Taker/Diesel and.... What else? Not much to write home about. Michaels and Hart carried the entire show. Wrestlemania 24 had several good matches all of which carried the show together such as Taker/Edge, Orton/Cena/Trips, Mayweather/Show, and Flair/Michaels. Heck, even JBL/Finlay was pretty good.

I love WrestleMania and all of them are special or have something special about them, but you cant compare MOST today to back then and SERIOUSLY ask which is better as this was, as the previous poster said, carried by one great match, awesome and innovative, but the overall atmosphere WrestleMania produces nowadays is as unmatched as it's supercards are now compared to the lack thereof back then

more of the card is memorably nowadays rather than then.

17 is long away from those days and so is 18, 19. Most of the greatest are pass the halfway mark for the number of Manias had so far

That's not an insult to great Manias past like 1 and 3 but it gets better and better... thats a good thing, we dont want the comparisons to be close in 4 and 24 or 10 and 30 when it comes

I mean they were testing and still test things today but it gets better...

we dont have stuff like WrestleMania 2 where they're in Texas, Canada and DC for WrestleMania 29 because they want to use the Dallas stadium, stick Edge and Trish in a Canada HOF and put some Mania action on the east coast for the first time in our nation's capitol

(although, that may be a solution to the Dallas/Canada thing for 29, the rumors I mean)

or maybe not

but 24 wins automatically and it isnt even a real competition between the two.
