Would You Like To See Lesnar-Goldberg II?

The Cerebral Assassin
Brock Lesnar (the monster of the WWE) vs. Goldberg (the monster of WCW). Two very dominant performers with good in-ring abilities to boot. Their match at WM20 should have been an epic showdown of the ages. It should have produced moments that could have been synonomous with Andre/Hogan at WM3. But no. It turned into one big pile of crap after word got out that they were both on their way out of the WWE. The match itself became obsolete and no one (neither the live crowd or the performers) cared about it (which is down-right terrible). However, you really can't deny the potential that these two have together... so, would you like to see them go one on one again if you could? I know it would never happen, as there's so many factors against it, but were talking hypothetically here. Would you like to see Lesnar-Goldberg II (minus the BS this time around, of course)? Or are you too drained from their first encounter to even stomach both of them ever being together in the same wrestling ring again?

Discuss.

Yea, I would like to see it, as long as there is no special referee. Also I would only see the match if it was Lesnar vs The Goldberg from like 7-8 years ago.

Yes I would have, years ago, but now I am not so sure. It would be interesting and all, but overall I am not sure. If I knew Goldberg can still compete, I would say yes, but I am unsure of it. It would be an interesting feud. If the WWE could have gotten this feud and done it longer it would have been great. It won't ever happen though.

if it weren't for the fact that Lesnar and Goldberg were quitting the next day, that would have been a good match. If you get a Brock Lesnar and a Bill Goldberg both not just in their prime, but in a mind frame where they care about the buisness,......that would be golden

The first time these two guys met it was one of the WORST matches in WM history! Goldberg was always terrible in the ring but Lesnar was a talent. The only way I'd want to see that is an MMA fight! Lesnar would win but I would enjoy seeing Goldberg get his ass handed to him

Only if both performers put their all into it. I mean i have Wrestlemania 20 on DVD, adn that match is one that is constantly skipped. which is sad because both guys were tremendous performers btu that match was crap. IT was a power game tie after power game tie and it was just BORING!

The thing is, despite all the shit they were getting from the crowd, all they had to do was have a wrestlemania-worthy match and the crowd would've realised they were going to miss those 2 guys and given them an applause at the end.

But no, I wouldn't like to see the rematch. Goldberg was never good in the ring so him now would be pretty terrible. Lesnar is in too much of an MMA mind set now and would never be able to get back completly into a wrestling mind set.

Would I like to see these guys wrestle again? Yes. Would I like to see them wrestle against each other? Dear god no...

At the time, I really hated the match, and was one of the many people booing both of them on their way out. But of course, thinking about it now, the match SHOULD have been a classic, but the circumstances prevented anyone from taking it seriously. The match itself was rather boring, as has already been pointed out, I mean how much time did they waste at the beginning of the match? But maybe if more had been invested into the angle, and neither superstar was leaving the next day, I think the fans would have been behind it a lot more, and I think both Goldberg and Brock would have put in a lot more effort as well. Kind of a motivation killer when thousands and thousands of people are booing both you and your opponent, while chanting "nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey..."

So, figuratively, I think the match could be good if both guys went in wanting to have a great match. Goldberg's obviously nowhere near as skilled as Lesnar, but I still think they COULD have had a great match if it weren't for all the other factors involved.

I'm in a very small minority when I say I actually enjoyed some of the match they had. Of course, some things couldn't be helped. Both superstars were leaving, the audience knew it and weren't being quiet about it. I don't think Austin being in that match helped matters either. Why put your (arguably) biggest star in a highly anticipated match between two of the most dominant figures in the history of the business? Austin got more applaud and fanfare during that match than both Lesnar and Goldberg combined, which, yet again, hurt what potentially could have been an amazing, all-time classic.

Once you get past the overdrawn staredown, the match actually becomes interesting. A test of strength ensues, which I think fits this situation perfectly. Both men had shown throughout their careers that they were above everybody else on the roster when it came to strength and dominance. People wanted to know who the stronger man was.

If you actually get past their first six or so minutes, the action is pretty solid. Both men escape each others finishers, both men hit signature moves, high-impact moves are hit on each other, you know, the huge crowd popping moves. But touching on the Austin thing again, throughout the match, both Lesnar and Goldberg have a brief staredown with him. Especially with Goldberg, the staredown looked intense, and for one split second, you're taken to eight years previous, where everybody wondered who was better, Austin or Goldberg? So I think teasing Austin/Goldberg didn't help the match either, as we knew it wasn't going to happen.

But would I like to see the match again, this time booked a little better? Hell yes I would. Both men in their primes were the top performers for their companies, and both men put on (arguable) matches of the year. Without Austin, both men leaving the company and the audience into it like originally anticipated, along with some great build-up, it would be a phenomenal match.

I think they could have given us a decent match if they actually cared. They were both on their way out of the WWE and given how much shit the crowd was giving them, it's no wonder that they didn't give it their all. The match wasn't THAT bad, it's just that they way overused the "evenly match strength" and staredowns. It was so awesome when they locked horns the first time, I got chills. Then they kept locking horns over and over and over... Also, having Austin there was indeed a big mistake since he was far more popular than both of them. It also didn't help the fact that Lesnar/Austin and especially Goldberg/Austin were some dream matches that everyone wanted to see. I think if the circumstances were different, they would have put on a decent match that the crowd would have enjoyed.

Don't we as wrestling fans deserve the best from superstars when they enter the squared circle? I would think that they owe it to us... I was so excited by the concept before but the end product was not much more than a slap in the face... Goldberg always got huge pops and its not bad to see him or lesnar but if you watch some interviews a lot of the wwe superstars that jobbed to both of them were pissed that they did and the two of them left so i don't think that the wwe would hire them again

That match might have been the worst match I ever watched. The only good thing about it was the smarky MSG crowd giving it to Lesnar throughout the entire match since they knew he was leaving, and this listening to J.R. having to admit as much on the air. Priceless unintentional comedy.

The only way I'd ever like to see them go at it again is if my family was being held hostage and I was told the only way to save them was by watching them wrestle again. I might kill myself when it was over, but at least my family would be safe.

Nobody deserves to watch these two wrestle each other again....who in their right mind would want that? after seeing the disappointing match bof men had, i don't want to see it again. Better yet, i don't want ANY of them to wrestle again, due to the fact of how bof men left WWE.
