Would this gimmick interest you?

Occasional Pre-Show
I've been meaning to share this idea for a while.

I've always had this gimmick in mind where a wrestler's finisher (or set-up/signature move) would be to steal his opponents top moves. Anyone else think this would be pretty interesting ? They could have one of their rookies show up and just start doing this to established guys or if you want to stick this with a current guy then someone like Seth Rollins would be a great choice since he has the ability to pull off pretty much any move imaginable, whether it's high-flying or power. Might be something entertaining for him to do on his own if and when the Shield split.

Sounds like a Charlie Haas type gimmick to me. It would be OK for a little while but then would get boring once he started facing the same people over and over.

I think it would be a crazy move to make because we have seen again and again with different wrestlers over the years. For example: Charlie Haas, Eugene, back in the attitude era: The Rock, Steve Austin, HHH and more all did that in matches to piss off each other.

Not a big fan of the idea. I like the occasional "I've tried everything, now it's time to steal your move" kind of idea, i.e the rumble this year with Cena vs. Orton, but as far as an actual gimmick?

I think what makes somebody unique or seem more important is having the fans wait for the big finishing move, and to have someone just steal opponents diminishes it.

Is the crowd supposed to think its as effective as the owners? Are they supposed to just view it as a parody of their opponent? I mean maybe for someone like Mojo Rawley it's a GREAT idea... I mean... his finisher? ... Yikes.

I like it, but not just steal their moves. I know people are probably going to poop on my post but I like the idea of a complete doppleganger that goes as far as to mock the image, personality and move set of the person they face each night. I think it would be cool. I could get into it anyway!

I agree with Eugene, but he didn't use the Rock Bottom against The Rock, or Stunner against Stone Cold, and I think that was the point of the OP to use your opponent's finisher against them only. (Batista Bomb against Batista, running knee against DB, RKO against Orton, etc.)

Holy Shit, I had thought of it a lot of times as well! I even came up with a name for it- Implosion (don't know why), and a stipulation- that the wrestler will have to get hit with that move first, and if he doesn't get pinned a.k.a he survives the move, he will be able to use it tongs

Kinda cool, but not if he's stealing finishers all the time. If he would steal signature moves, like the five knuckle shuffle, old school, cm punk's running knee in the corner to a bulldog. That would be kinda cool and I think it would work with Ziggler sense he's the Show off. It would work like a way of saying anything you can I can do better.

Nope. As a gimmick that doesn't have a lot of real staying power because it seems to happen at least once every other PPV. What would be unique is if finishers actually mattered again. Used to be when someone hit their big move, the match was over unless it was a really big match (Hogan/Warrior was the first time I remember seeing it happen) or somebody interfered and/or broke up the pin. This happens pretty much every week now.
