Create A New Gimmick

I'd form a 4 member faction of black dudes. Kofi would be one for sure, maybe JTG, R Truth and I'd go get Shelton Benjamin or Shad Gaspard back.

I know, I know, You're thinking it's the Nation all over again.

Here's the thing, though. That's not it at all.

I'd make them a rag tag group of fun lovers. They'd all have matching outfits. These outfits would be bobsledding getups, they'd be like the Jamacian bobsled team. They'd get a manager, somebody who is also fun loving, maybe Santino or something. Think Cool Runnings.

They'd kick everybody's ass and smile while doing it. Funny backstage skits where they pull silly but not mean spirited, pranks on other wrestlers. Show little vignettes of them training with rudimentary equipment.

They'd be perfect for PG television.

i wanna see a ravishing rick rude part 2 .

pretty much someone good-looking enough to take the rude gimmick and evolve it, adding to it, modernizing it.

maybe a bobby roode- john morrison- big poppa pump type guy could make this work.

he gotta be cocky, great in the ring, killer mic skills, has washboard abs, does the gyrations, taunts the crowd relentlously, and at the end of his matches, make fun of the fat people in the crowd and take their hot women.

i could see john morrison running with this heel gimmick, but he has to drastically amp up his mic work to pull it off. he could have melina with him as his valet, and once they pull chicks from the crowd, he could make out with her first....then pass her over to melina for girl on girl makout.... then they do a three-way makeout! hahaha

don't know if it will fly in PG wwe right now, but shit, in TNA, anything goes!

ravishing rick rude 2012!!!

that would be awesome!

I actually made a guy like this in WWE '12...kind of.

Instead of a dude with a great body, I used a slightly fatter guy (think of an offensive lineman) who thinks he is the sexiest thing ever. He wears a boa and sweet shades on the way to the ring, and wears a pink wrestling outfit a la Mr. Perfect. He does gyrations on his way to the ring and has a huge grin on his face. It's not quite Sexual Chocolate, just more like a very conceited and humorous fat guy.

A wrestler who mocks the past storylines of other wrestlers in feuds, just constantly bringing up embarrassing characters and storylines to the point where the other wrestler gets mad. Would never happen though

I would love it if a new wrestler had a gimmick of making fun of other wrestlers or actors. He could always come out there with other peoples attires on and make fun of them. It would always be funny and it would always make a feud.

I like this.

The majority of the gimmick sounds pretty much like Zack Ryder. Although he doesn't copy other Superstars, his character seems to be motivated by a desire to be liked and accepted.

Hmm..didn't thought that way. But I guess still there is a lot of difference between the two :)

One way to reduce the shallowness in Zack Ryder's character could be -- if he tells Cena that he is Ok with what has happened and goes with his usual business, but their equation is no longer the same. Cena can then sell the shock and the fact that he is missing that old bromance.

Maybe bring back like a Papa Shango gimmick but I would modernize it a little. That was good and hasn’t been done since. Maybe like a lunatic or psychopath. I would like to see a gimmick like the Demolition or maybe a LOD. Just ruthless and run rough shot over people. I know it’s not a gimmick but, I also wouldn’t mind seeing larger stables or fractions and put them against each other.

One gimmick I have often thought about is that of the mercenary wrestler.

It would have to be portrayed by a big guy and he would openly say that he is just in the business to make some easy money. He would also openly criticise the wrestling business in front of the wrestling fans and his services would be available to whomever paid him the most money. It could be a pretty strong heel gimmick given that a lot among the IWC feel that most big men are in the business only for the money.

Good one. He can openly say that he is of no use outside so he is here to kick some ass. This will bring other big guys in picture once again as it will question their integrity and motive of being in WWE. While there is nothing wrong in what this fellow does, but other big guys like Big show will take offence and talk about their legacy and integrity leading to a kind of feud that Cena and Batista had.

He can simply run in to interrupt any match and have his way in the middle. He is not angry, or pissed off, or even frustrated. He is just doing what he is made for. He is not a warrior, doesn't believe in too many mind games and doesn't know a lot of wrestling moves. He simply wants to destroy anyone in his way, doesn't like if people are ignoring him and he wants everyone to be concious of him when he is around.

He thinks that he is good for the business, so no one should interrupt him in what he is doing. According to him, audience like Divas being molested and man-handled, so he is going to jump on any opportunity. Come'on WWE needs a good monster heel now.

First of all, great thread!

Similar idea to this one...

I feel a great gimmick with HUGE potential would be that of someone who is able to "break" kayfabe and be 100% natural; a 4th Wall Character, quite simply, a Comedian!

You UK based wrestling fans might be aware of a comedian in our country named Harry Hill who has his Saturday night sketch show, TV Burp!
Having something along those lines like 'WWE Pipebomb' would work well with a good gimmick, maybe a WWE.com show???
Making fun...

> of botches
> shitty or awkward promos
> WWE Gossip
> TV Mistakes etc.

Would need a very talented persona and wrestler to pull it off!

I can dream...

They should do a tag team with Zeke and Mason Ryan where they act like meatheads from the gym. Think Planet Fitness's "i lift things up and put them down" commercials. This could also work with Titus Oneil and Percy Watson from FCW.

They could have a character who is like Jekyl and Hyde - kind of like how Mick Foley had multiple gimmicks. Except this character would alternate between being a face and a heel. I think Dean Ambrose could pull this off. Later, maybe it would be revealed they he is just this crazy heel like the Joker who loves to create chaos.

I think Husky Harris and Bo Rotundo could do a good Country Boys tag team gimmick, with Husky acting kind of like a 2012 version of Stone Cold and Bo being kind of a smart aleck like Edge. Obviously neither at are at the former stars levels now but I see potential.

Kassius Ohno and Cesaro should team up with the gimmick that tag teams matter. Their whole gimmick should be that they can beat any two wrestlers thrown together to form a tag team. To prove this, they beat down wrestlers as a pair by jumping them, and then challenging them to face them as a tag team, and they then lose. This keeps happening until an actual tag team faces them and beats them (maybe The Country Boys if they got over).

I think Cody and Wade need to further distinguish themselves. It would be cool if Cody was into torturing and humiliating his opponents and used like a medieval type rack device to do this. Wade should employ some dry British humor and play up the fact that he is from the streets.

Seth Rollins should have the gimmick of being a metalhead. It would be cool if a wrestler actually played guitar as he went to the ring and then used an electric guitar as a weapon. The gimmick of being a skateboarder and then using the skateboard as a weapon could work too, as long as the actual wrestler in either case knew how to skate and/or play guitar. It'd have to be the right person. In the case of the skater they could do jackass like stunts and pranks to get over and have a juvenile sort of humor. The metalhead could just be a badass.

If Abraham Washington learns to wrestle, him and Richie Steamboat could have a kind or Rush Hour gimmick where Abe plays comedy shtick to the straight man of Richie Steamboat. They'd be the odd couple.

Lastly, I think it would be cool to update the whole Rick the Model Martel gimmick with a really out-there fashion model. THink a male version of Lady Gaga, and his whole gimmick would be to be provocative and strange and to make statements that are kind of bizarre and ultimately self indulgent and offputting. Maybe it could also be a part of an eccentric rich guy gimmick. I was thinking Gabriel and Leo Kruger or maybe Drew McIntyre could pull it off.
