Would Sheamus vs Morrison be better another way?

Should the Morrison vs Sheamus be changed to a five on five elimination match?

  • Yes, the one on one match can wait untill TLC. Survivor Series needs more elimination matches.

  • No, it should stay one on one to get John Morrison over.

WWE is lacking 5 on 5 elimination tag matches for Survivor Series. So, I was thinking why not have Team Sheamus vs Team Morrison instead of a one on one match. They have already wrestled on Raw, plus a tag match could further the feud if Sheamus wins then they have a one on one match at TLC. I have been debating about this with a fellow poster and he claims, a tag match would not get Morrison over. I beg to differ because it would help build the feud and it could come down to Morrison and Sheamus with Sheamus winning thus having a one on one match at TLC.

So here is what I would do. The Uso's/Kozlov and Santino have been feuding off and on for a few months so I would add both of them to the match, especially with the Morrison/Sheamus feud starting off with Santino. Then the returning Ezeckial Jackson needs something to do and he was feuding with Regal before he got injured. Since Regal is retiring soon, he needs a pay per view match before he goes out. So I would add Jackson and Regal. Finally you have Dibiase and Goldust who have been feuding. They would both be added to the match and there you have it.

Sheamus, Usos', Regal, and Dibiase vs Morrison, Santino, Kozlov, Jackson, and Goldust.

I think it would help all of these guys, thus giving them a spot on the card and furthering each feud even more.

What are your thoughts?

Let's see, the guys you listed as team mates to both Sheamus and Morrison are all lower- mid carders. They are trying to build Morrison up to be a main eventer. How would putting him in a match with 4 other nobodies get him over at all? Do you remember their match on RAW? Your telling me that you would rather see a tag match involving two horrible teams rather than another great match between the two? Morrison needs the spot light. Piutting him in the ring with 4 team mates means he would have to share that spot light he's so desspertly wanting. A traditional Survivor Series match just wouldn't do anything at all to the feud except make it longer. It would do nothing for Morrison which is the whole reason they're putting him in a feud with a former 2 time WWE Champion. It just wouldn't be the same dude.

And I agree, they do need more traditional Survivor Series matches but putting two guys in a SS match wouldn't do anything to their feud.

How can you say the four teamates are noobies? The Uso's need something to do. They are not a bad team, they just need a good push. Kozlvo and Santino have been in a lot of matches with them lately and it would help give both teams exposure. William Regal is not a noobie. He is a veteran and has done a lot for the business. He is retiring soon and needs one last pay per view match. Jackson and Regal were feuding before he got injured so they could revive the feud for a little while before Regal hangs up his boots. Jackson also needs a good push. Then Goldust and Ted Dibiase have been feuding so why not include them? Ted Dibiase has potential, WWE just needs to let him shine. Goldust also doesn't get pay per view matches that often and it would give him the exposure he needs.

I'm sorry, not Nobodies, but no where near the levels of Sheamus and John Morrison. John Morrison can't get over when he's with more people in the ring. Could Bret Hart really put over Steve Austin in a tag match? Could Triple H put over Batista in a Tag match. A tag match wouldn't do much for neither men. Sheamus is a two time Champion. They put John Morrison in a feud with him for a reason. Because everyone and I mean everyone talked about their match on Monday Night Raw a couole weeks ago. You think everyone would talk about a traditional Survivor Series match and call it one of the best matches on the card? No. Saying they need more traditional Survivor Series matches is a lame reason to includ them in one. Its fine the way it is. It'll give Morrison a chance to shine.

And you want to talk about extending the feud. What if Morrison wins with a rolls up. Sheamus comes out on RAW and is pissed. Leading to more matches. A tag match isn't the way to get him over at all. It doesn't matter who's in the match, whether its John Cena, or Santino.

You still won't answer my question. What if it came down to Sheamus and Morrison? They could wrestle for a while before the end of the match. Like you said if it Morrison won with a roll up it could lead to more matches. Well then what if Morrison rolled up Sheamus and got the win at Survivor Series then Sheamus could come out on RAW the next night and be pissed, then they could have a match on RAW with maybe ending in a double countout, then at TLC they could have a falls count anymore match because Morrison does better in those matches and Sheamus could put him over in a match like that, just like on RAW a few weeks back. You are right, Triple H didn't put Batista over in a tag match but he did put him over in various matches including Hell in a Cell. Hart didn't put Austin over in a tag match but didn't he put him over in a submission match? So why not a tag match and then falls count anywhere match at TLC with Morrison coming out on top and getting over?

i was thinking the same thing. sd has an elimination match so raw needs one. the team sounds great except i would put daniel bryan and the miz in the match in stead of zeke and regal. how are they gonna have survivor series without the u.s. champion and the mitb owner the miz. plus it could set up a feud between bryan and dibase

The way I see it, they should do the elimination match instead.

TEAM MORRISON: John Morrison / Daniel Bryan / DH Smith / R-Truth / Ezekiel

TEAM SHEAMUS: Sheamus / Ted DiBiase / Tyson Kidd / The Miz / Alex Riley

It gives you the JoMo/Sheamus feud, the DiBiase/Bryan one, the Smith/Kidd one, and then as far as R-Truth, Ezekiel, the Miz, and Alex Riley go...well, just have a backstage interaction really fast between them. Morrison's backstage recruiting people to his team and is talking to Truth and Ezekiel (to further help the audience understand that he's a face now) and the Miz and Riley somehow act like douchebags to them, so there you go.

The only important person missing from the card, then, is Dolph Ziggler, which sucks, but he really should've been in Tyler Rek's spot seeing as how he and MVP are kind of in a feud now. Idk how they had that oversight...just like how they should've put Kaval in instead of Masters since nobody cares about Masters lol

A one-on-one match between Morrison and Sheamus just means one thing: Sheamus wins because they don't want him to look too weak. It won't elevate Morrison unless they follow through with it and actually put some focus on him and give him some wins. But if Morrison is the captain of a team and goes out fighting at the end of the day, like eliminating people and coming out strong, then at the last second, being pump-kicked by Sheamus in the confusion like a cheap shot, then Sheamus gets his win, Morrison stays looking strong, and everyone wins. But nope...instead...we're getting the Nexus beating down Santino and Kozlov...

Can't say. All the other guys listed in the team are mid-carders. Morrison is in this fued because Vinnie Mac wants him to become a main-eventer. This fued will help him cement his place in the over-crowded ME scene of RAW. Plus, you mentioned that it could come down to Sheamus and Morrison in the S.S traditional match, but how will it help? Last S.S also, it came down to Kofi and Orton and it did nothing to further build their fued. Their match at TLC was already fixed. Then perhaps, Morrison could win this thing with a roll-up or something like that and continue their fued to TLC with Morrison winning clean that time. So, it should be 1 vs 1.

While I agree that Survivor Series is severely lacking in the traditional elimination matches, this is certainly not the match to do it, especially with the team of relative nobodies that you assembled. There is one main reason for this view.

This feud is intended to push John Morrison. How is sharing the ring with 9 other men (8 of which are lower mid carders at best) going to accomplish that? All that does is allow him less time to show off his skills in the ring, which is him main asset. Now maybe this could work if done in a similar format to Kofi vs Orton from last year where Kofi pinned two world champions in a matter of seconds and was made to look awesome. However for that to happen the teams, or at least Sheamus team, would have to be very strong and with all the main event players either injured or tied up in other angles that is simple not feasible. So it would be much more beneficial to John to simply have a singles match where he gets a good 10-15 minutes to prove himself in the ring with a former world champ, that way even if he loses he will still come off looking great.

WWE having another elimination tag match after they had one at bragging rights, is like if they had an elimination chamber match right before the elimination chamber ppv. Seems stupid to me.

I don't think having them as team captains in the elimination matches would work very well. That role no longer means anything. The elimination matches are only cool because it's a tradition, they honestly don't mean much anymore in terms of pushes etc. Morrison needs this feud and match more than Sheamus does. It will help Morrison get more over while also giving Sheamus something to do until Trips returns. This match needs to be one on one because it's important that both guys have something to do and help them get more over too. Having them be captains of elimination match teams would not do much for them.

I say it should be Team Shamus vs Team Morrison

Shamus, DiBiase, Uso's and Ryder
Morrison, Truth, Bryan, Hart Dynasty

Hart Dynasty breaks up so its down to 3v5 Truth and Ryder are useless so its 2v4
Uso's get eliminated so it gets down to 2v2 then Shamus vs Morrison at the end with Shamus winning

Then at TLC Morrison wins, ending the feud, and pushing both into the ME picture
