Worst ending to a Raw ever!

After the thread about the best ending to a Monday Night Raw ever, I'm suprised this discussion never came up. But I will go ahead and start it.

It's simple. In your opinion, what is the worst ending to a Monday Night Raw ever and why? Was it weak? Or lame? Or easily predictible? Or was it just plain stupid and had you thinking :wtf: "What in the blue hell is creative thinking right now?"

For mine, I have to go back to 1997. In fact, it's the night after the Montreal Screwjob. Anyone remember this Raw from 11-10-97? I'll run it down for you:
*Ken Shamrock vs. HHH was the main event match, a match made by Commissioner Slaughter earlier in the evening during a Shamrock/DX confrontation. This is what started the build up for "DeGenerationX: In Your House."
*During the match, HHH intentionally punches the referee in the back of the head. Ken Shamrock follows this up with an ankle lock, and has HHH tapping with no ref to see it. Meanwhile, Sgt. Slaughter is trying to keep Chyna and Rick Rude from the ring.( Yep, Ravishing Rick Rude was a member of DX in the early days, remember that?) So HBK sneaks into the ring behind Sarge's back and KO's Shamrock with an iron briefcase, and the ref starts counting Ken down for 3.
*But Raw went off the air in the middle of the referee's three count. Yes, that's right! Raw ended during a 3-count! Why? Why? It was literally: 1....2....JR saying "Michaels is afraid of Shamrock. Thanks for joining us. Good night.":wtf:

What really made this fucked up was that the cameras kept rollin' after Raw went off the air, as we found out on the next Raw. And this happened:
*Sgt. Slaughter interrupted the referee's count. DX took exception to this and began shoving the Comissioner around. Sarge then shoves back, sending Michaels backward toward Ken Shamrock.
*Although Ken was competing against HHH, he decides to roll up HBK. And the Commish counts HBK down for 3.
*The bell never rang to end the match, the original main event never offically ended, and Ken Shamrock was not awarded a pinfall victory over Shawn Michaels. Again all this lead to Shawn Michaels defending the WWF Champioship against Ken Shamrock at "DX: In Your House."

But why? Why could they not show the true ending of Raw on air that very same night? No WWF/E, or any wrestling show for that matter, Should ever end in the middle of a match. Especailly not during a three count.

So IWC, you have the floor now. What is your worst ending to Raw ever?.............

Can't really think of any horrible endings, but the one that I didn't really like was in 2004...? I think. It was a Triple Threat Match for the WorldHeavyweight Championship. Edge vs. Triple H vs. Chris Benoit. The match ended in a draw and the show seemed to just end without any knid of a conclussion to it. Loved the match but I wanted to know who the champion was then and there... guess it's just my stubborness

I may be incorrect about this, but not long after the WWF purchased WCW the original plans were to run WCW as a seperate organization. The ending to Raw one week featured a WCW "sanctiond" bout between Buff Bagwell and Booker T, with Arn Anderson and Scott Hudson on commentary. It was painful to watch and listen to, and was the precursor to the disappointing "Invason" storyline.

That definitely stands out to me. It was just Vince shitting on the WCW legacy. Who cares about seeing Bagwell wrestle Booker T? Then, to completely bury the :wcw: team (even though they somehow regained enough stamina to last through Survivor Series) they literally toss Bagwell out of the arena (which is hilarious for Bagwell's cause.)

I remember being 12, watching that Raw, and being disappointed at all of the WCW guys I had switched over to Raw to watch (I was never a WWF kid.)

But more recently, the RAW where Regal turned out the lights and the match ended abruptly which was a title fight I believe. And I absolutely hated the RAW where Cena teamed with DX and they all did the crotch chop at the end. :icon_rolleyes:

Back in 99' when Val Venis got his wang cut off by them asian dudes can't remember they're names.lol it was funny but a pretty bad ending to a Raw

Kaientai is the group your thinking of! Was that really the last segment of Raw that night? If so, you may have topped my worst Raw ending!

You should watch TNA...they always end in the middle of segments...whether is Hogan and Abyss staring each other down on the stage, we neverget to see their finish!!! Every single week!! Remember the swanton bomb, just as he climbed at the top!! it ended!!

To keep on topic I have to go with!!

Remember when William Regal was GM and he cut the lights out on the main evet!!! Seriously like WTF was that!! I'm sure those in attendance got to see the finish after it went of the air, but for us at home, it was like someone got a stick and stuck it up your damn ass!!

Honourable Mention
I also didn't like the whole Vince limo blow-up....it may have been good then, but looking back, you think!! WHAT??

in defence of the night in question of WCW event in WWF ring, go watch that match again. listen to the crowd.

and for me, yes, the limo/ "Death of Mr.Mcmahon" was horrible. and there was a few times in the mid 90's when the camera cut out before the event was over, much like TNA does now. also i wasnt a fan of the Kane losing his mask ending of RAW, that should have been a PPV thing really.. for RAW it was rather weak, and it did turn Kane into a monster Heel, but he wasnt the same again untill just a bit ago.

This may not be the worst ever, but it always really bothered me. It happened during William Regal's reign as GM. He "blacked out" the main event (a title match) and Raw went off the air. I know it was done as a means to getting Regal massive heat, but as a fan it made me feel stupid for watching the show only to have them pull a bait and switch.

Mr. McMahon's death is the first one that comes to my mind. It was just so overly fake that you could not take it seriously at all. The way Vince had that goofy "depressed" look on his face and the stumbling slow walk he was using made you want to laugh at him more so than feel any potential sympathy. Then he got in the limo and shut the door, which was immediately followed by the limo bursting into flame. It was very lame and very phony. The camera were in perfect position to get every angle of the shot and no one came out to help for the last few minutes as the show went off the air. It was all for nothing too as the incident with Chris Benoit cut the story-line short as McMahon had to show himself and therefore proving he wasn't "dead". Overall a horrible, over the top, and goofy ending to RAW that could have ended up in one of the most ridiculous story-lines ever. Thankfully it only lasted a week because in all honesty if Vince really did pass the WWE would run around like chickens with their heads cut off.

THANK YOU!! At first I didn't believe that actually happened. I really thought the lights were gonna turn back on, but then "Burn Notice" started. And I just lost it.:banghead::banghead: I understand that they were to trying to do major heat for Regal and make all-powerful(he had been branded "King" of Raw after the KOR tournament)but what happened there was just too much. Uncalled for!! I am very thankful that Regal had to be removed as GM because of his failed drug test.

This right here...

This was in the midst of a big feud between the two, they had a title match coming up (I believe this might have been the go home show before the PPV actually) and we get the two of them singing together in the ring. Yes, both men are great at delivering fun, memorable promos, but for me this particular promo was lacking and a terrible way to end the show simply because two men who were at the time bitter enemies had a nice little singalong campfire lovefest...bah

in defence of the night in question of WCW event in WWF ring, go watch that match again. listen to the crowd

Scott Hudson initially announces that the match is for the WWF title (it is for the WCW title, the crowd starts booing not long after the match begins, and then they start to chant "this match sucks". what makes this the worst ending to Raw is that it was so anti-climatic. so much so that this was Bagwell's only match in the WWF, and they cancelled plans to run seperate WCW house shows.
