World Series of Poker

Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
Last night, the final two players in the WSOP played it out to determine the world champion. I won't spoil who wins like ESPN did, which completely boggles my mind, but that's a different story for a different time.

What I want to know is what are your thoughts on poker and the poker boom of the last 5 years? I know that for me, it was a fever that I caught for awhile but now it has gone down fast. While I still watch the reruns as ESPN shows almost nothing else anymore, it isn't must see tv. It seems as if the boom has died down a lot as you don't see nearly as many poker shows on tv anymore, but it's still around. If nothing else, ESPN's coverage has created many new fans and players of the game. While I don't play regularly anymore, I definitely know a lot more about the game than I used to.

So what about you all?

I never seen the point in watching poker on tv. I always found it to be very boring and i realy didnt care who won. I will admitt that the "Poker Craze" got to me for about 6 months. My friends and I would play a little bit , But i got my ass kicked so i got tired of it fast. The worst thing about poker is the people who play with money. Why cant people just sit down and play a game of cards without blowing all of thier money ? The internet gambling sites are also very annoying. I realy dont see the point in sitting at your computers and lose hundreds of dollars. (In some cases thousands) I just dont see what's so addictive about it. Overall i'd rather sit down and play monopoly with my friends and have a good time , Than i would play poker with my friends and lose my money.
