World Class Championship Wrestling - A Different Path

DJ

I've wrestled alot of countries
In late 2006 Kevin Von Erich sold all WCCW footage to WWE. But what If something different happened? What if he started up WCCW up again? What if
he wanted to publish WCCW DVD's by himself? Well in this story he won't. In this story you'll read about Triumph - and there be little Tragedy. This is a story of two of the most well known families in wrestling ever. This is the Story of World Class Championship Wrestling.......

In 2000 Dusty Rhodes and his Son Dustin Rhodes well let go from WCW because of cost cutting measures. Dusty thought about leaving the business but then one night got a phone call from Kevin Von Erich - the last of the Von Erich sons. He offered Dusty and his son a place in the NEW WCCW. He offered Dusty 50% ownership. Dusty couldn't turn it down. WCCW had its first show in December of that year. WCCW began to gain a cult following and attracted roughly 300 fans a show. Then in November 2006 the unthinkable happened - ESPN offered a late night deal. But there was a catch - they would run from the beginning of Winter to the end of Spring each year. They would be the first Wrestling company to run in seasons. Dusty and Kevin took a chance and it worked. It consistently got 1.1's which considering its spot wasn't too bad.

Featuring :
Diamond Dallas Page vs Big Dave for the Heavyweight title!
Dustin Rhodes returns!
Jerry Lynn vs Cody Rhodes!

The show opens with Jeremy Borash and Al Snow welcoming us to the new season of WCCW. They are then rudely interrupted by the music of Jerry Lynn who comes out to a decent reaction. He is soon followed by Cody Rhodes who is greeted like a hero from the Texas Crowd. Borash tells us This match will not be for the WCCW Texas State Championship as the bell rings. Lynn gets the best of Cody early on in the match following some solid chain wrestling. Lynn dominates for the next 6 minute killing Cody with his lethal kicks. Lynn hits a big Tornado DDT for a 2 count. Lynn lifts Cody up for the Cradle Piledriver but Cody reverses it into a Air Raid Crash! He connects with it and gets a 2 count of it. Cody then lifts up Lynn - Silver Spoon DDT!1,2,3! The Texas State Champion picks up a impressive win.

Diamond Dallas Page is backstage warming up when Todd Grisham walks in. Grisham asks DDP's opinions on Big Dave. DDP says he hasn't had a true challenge since he took the title away from Billy Kidman. He says tonight the challenge is here in Big Dave. Suddenly Big Dave walks in. He and DDP have a staredown before Dave walks off. We go back to the ring where Jeremy and Snow hype up the main event.

Mike DiBaise is in the ring with his brother Ted when the music of "Mr.Wonderful" Chris Mordetzky hits. He enters the ring. Ted leaves the ring after giving his brother some words of wisdom. Mordetzky comes straight out of the park with a big powerslam that shakes the ring. Mordetzky shows of his
muscles to the crowd before throwing Mike into the corner. "Mr.Wonderful" hits a shoulder block in the corner. Mordetzky takes him out of the corner - Full Nelson Lock! Mike tries to escape as Ted shouts support - Mike can't escape! Mike is going.......going.....he's gone.... Mordetzky lifts him up - FULL NELSON SLAM~! 1,2,3! Mordetzky picks up a win on the season premier.

Next we hear a somewhat cowboy style theme. Its Dustin Rhodes for the first time in a while. He grabs a microphone and clears his throat and declares he has a story to tell. He says last season his father put him through hell in that bull rope match. He says he went home to his ranch he thought long and hard how they ended up in that match. He says he was a jerk and coward. He says he should have shown his father respect but he didn't. He says this is a new Dustin and this is a new page in the book. Then out of no where the music of Dusty Rhodes hits and he comes out. He and his son embrace and hug each other. Dusty says Dustin made the right decision. Suddenly Dustin kicks his father in the stomach - Falling Neckbreaker! Dusty is left holding his neck as Dustin leaves through the crowd. Cody runs down and checks his father. This family continues to tear apart.......

Finally we have our main event. Big Dave vs DDP! Both men go after each other with brutal force each showing how much this title is worth. Big Dave gains advantage with a huge spear that makes the crowd go nuts. Big Dave goes for his Sitout Powerbomb many times throughout the match but DDP has a counter each time. Big Dave is getting angry and runs in what a spear - but DDP Side steps it! Kick to the gut - DIAMOND CUTTER!1,2,3! DDP retains in a hard fought contest.Suddenly Sweet N Sour Inc come down - and attack DDP! DDP tries to fight them off but its no good. Big Dave gets back up! He runs at Sweet N Sour who are holding up DDP - WAIT HE SPEARS DDP! WHAT THE HELL? DAVE AND SWEENEY SHAKE HANDS! WCCW'S HERO HAS GONE TO THE DARKSIDE! The fans throw litter and rubbish into the ring as the show goes off the air......

wow man very interesting concept. Could be very good.

For some of us dumb people...lol though could you list your roster with who the guy might be in real life?

but over all I liked it. The Rhodes angle done very well. Having Big Dave go heel at the end was good setting up a feud between him and DDP should be interesting. Never really saw these guys go at it ever and could provide for some real moments

Hey you WCCW fans! It Al here again with yet another round of history. This week I'll be discussing the top title of WCCW - The WCCW Heavyweight championship. From the very first show this belt has been a presence on nearly every show. The very first WCCW champion was "Lonestar" Dustin Rhodes who defeated his own father. Dustin promised his father a fair fight but cheated. Dusty proclaimed after the show, this was the night he lost his own son. Over the next year we saw some of the most bloody battles in Texas history. Dustin eventually beat his father in a cage match. His father then took a leave to regain some balance on his life. Dustin was on top of the world - but would soon come crashing down......

WCCW then began a trading deal with AJPW. AJPW President Keiji Mutoh came over and actually won the title from Dustin on International Collison. Many thought Mutoh wouldn't hold the belt long but Mutoh actually held the belt 8 months before losing to it back to Dustin Rhodes. After the match Dusty Rhodes returned and challegened his son to a Texas Death Match with the loser leaving WCCW for a year! Dustin agreeded and nearly 2 years after WCCW crowned its first champion we had another man holding the belt - Dusty Rhodes won after a near 6 minute figure four leg lock!

Dusty then met a big man by the name of Dave Batista - a recently released WWE Employee who Dusty had a great interest in. Dusty let Dave become his mentor but Dave had his eye on something - Dusty's title. Dave turned on Dusty at Starrcade of that year helping Scott Hall win the title. Dave then beat Hall the next month to win the belt. Dusty and Dave battled for months before Dusty won a Falls Count Anywhere match to end their rivalry. Dave and Dusty made up after the match to a standing ovation. A few months later we saw the return of Dustin Rhodes under a new name - Golden Rhodes. He was now a posh, Hollywood actor who was better then everyone else. He quickly defeated Batista, Hall and even Mutoh at a one night only show before defeating his father again. Yet Another feud with start before Golden Rhodes won in a 30 minute ironman match. Golden then held a open contest tp anyone in the roster he hadn't faced. Out came Big Dave who destroyed Golden in under 4 minutes. Golden Rhodes soon went back to plain old Dustin while Dave held the title for 2 whole years! He was defeated by Billy Kidman after a sneaky roll up tough. Jerry Lynn shocked everyone when he beat Kidman but later lost the belt back to Kidman. And this year we have saw one title change. DDP made has in-ring return and beat Kidman with his Trademark DIAMOND CUTTER~!

So thats that folks. Back next week with more History!
