WM 27 Main Event...Did it hurt???

Occasional Pre-Show
So, for the last seven years the Rock has been missing in the world of wrestling entertainment(sorry Vince, I still view it as wrestling), and John Cena became the man. They both have a lot in common actually. The Rock throws down some comedic promos, as does John Cena. The Rock throws down about four to five moves in the ring that have no finesse, and are almost over shot and full of adrenaline, so does John Cena. Now I love the fisherman suplex and fisherman buster, but the way Cena does it is just ridiculous. Then the Rock does a spinebuster and poor excuse of a samoan drop. Is it just me, or do all of their moves have the appearance of them just throwing the guy and attempting to make it appear like a move?

I'm getting off track here and this is becoming more of a comparison/critique. I guess what I'm saying is, in the Rock's absence the WWE has built up a lot of new stars and attempted with others. The Rock comes back knowing full well that he can escape to acting at any time, but Cena and the Miz will still be here. The WWE has invested a lot of time into John Cena and the Miz as characters, especially in trying to get the Miz over as a legitimate threat. We all know the Rock isn't a long term entity and that he hasn't even been on camera that much since his return. My question is, do you feel the main event finish helped the career's of John Cena and the Miz? I don't, and here's why...

Its obvious that the finish was the way it was to further the Cena/Rock situation, but I think that in the end it made the WWE, Cena, and Miz look bad. Here's a guy, the Rock, who left seven years ago to pursue an acting career and then he shows up and owns two of WWE's main event superstars on the grandest stage of them all. I understand the Rock Bottom was payback for the Attitude Adjustment, but I would have booked it like this:

Have everything go the same way up until the restart of the match. Then have the Rock intervene and rock bottom Cena and the Miz retains. Have the Rock come back in and start going at it with the Miz. Have Cena pull off the super Cena gimmick as the Rock knocks the Miz out of the ring. Cena and the Rock exchange finisher opportunities, but Cena is obviously worn down while the Rock is more fresh. Have the Rock reverse something into another rock bottom. As the Rock stands over John Cena pointing down at him, have the Miz slide in and either nail Rock with the briefcase or have him use the skull crushing finale on an unsuspecting Rock. Have Miz do his backwards walk up the ramp holding the title up as the Rock and Cena meet eyes while laying in the ring, then look at the Miz..end of show.

You still get the Cena and Rock feud, but Miz doesn't come out of it looking so weak, and neither does Cena. Cena may get bested by the Rock, and the Miz...but the Miz won because of the Rock, and he gets to at least have his super cena second wind and really give it to the Rock for a few minutes.

I just thought this would have made more sense, but maybe I'm wrong...we're all entitled to our own opinions. What do you think? and how would you have booked the finish?
