Will we ever see the "Alpha Male" Monty Brown in the WWE again?

Pre-Show Stalwart
Former NFL & TNA star Monty Brown (aka Marcus Cor Von) wrestled in the WWE for a hot minute on the now defunct ECW brand in the "New Breed" faction. But six months in the company the "Alpha Male" was released by the "E" due to personal reason's with Monty Brown. One of Brown's family members died from natural causes and left care of there children to Monty. And raising kids is kinda hard to do when your on the road 250 days a year. So they parted ways so to speak.

Last year there was a rumor that Monty Brown was in talk with the WWE again about a comeback to the company. But that's as far as it went.

So my question is, do you or would you like to see the "Alpha Male" Monty Brown/Marcus Cor Von back in the WWE? I would!

I woud love to see Monty back in WWE (or TNA for that matter). The guy has natural charisma and has the ability to give great promos and be an intimidating figure in the ring. I'm all for a Monty return and I was very excited to see if the talks with WWE were in fact true and if they would bring something along the lines of an Alpha Male return. I'm hopig he returnsto the ring some day as he in my mind has what it takes to be a World champion.

i enjoyed him in tna more than his run in wwe but they were both good. i wish he won the ecw title instead of bobby lashley. i hope to see him again on the smackdown brand. he will b a good rival to kane or taker or even mysterio. his finisher the pounce was just awesome especially in tna due to the old style ring and could hit it from any direction.

First off thank you, i never knew and always wondered what became of him. Second yes, i think it would be fantastic for him to return to the WWE. The man has talent and charisma. I could be good as a negative john cena if you get my meaning. A large charismatic powerhouse (possible heel) the opposite of cena. Not on the same level of course but you get my concept right?

I'd love to see that happen, but I doubt it.

First of all, he's 40 now so he probably wouldn't be pushed as much as he should be if he was to return, since WWE is on a youth movement kick right now. Secondly, I heard he requested his release years ago because his sister died and he's taking care of her kids, which I admire and respect him for if that's the case. And third, he's probably doing something else and moved on from the industry, like going back to being a personal trainer.

So as much as I would enjoy seeing the Alpha Male tear up the wrestling scene again, it probably won't happen. It's certainly a shame though as he was no doubt a missed opportunity. I thought he could've been something great if either WWE or TNA gave him the chance. With his mic skills and athleticism, definitely Intercontinental or United States Champion material and possibly World Heavyweight or WWE Champion.

i will never see the appeal of this guy. he will NEVER...be wwe champion. i will put my first born child on it.
he just doesnt have any charisma. i thought he was embarrassing in TNA. his finisher The Pounce looked like a botched move every single time. running across the ring and sloppily crashing into someone? are you serious?

i'm glad he went to the wwe... so people could see how lame his character was.

i agree 100% on this he should be back, but god he should use his real name monty brown sounds awesome as it is and it is his real name. But i believe he could do a decent face with all of his charisma but he would make a perfect heel pouncing cena week in and week out would be christmas for me every time.:lmao:

I don't see him returning for some reason...he wasn't terrible, although his WWE name was. I could see him back in TNA, but his WWE run was so unremarkable, I think that bridge is burned. WWE has not had much luck with former TNA stars, I'm thinking they are cutting their losses in that regard.

I wouldnt mind seeing Monty Brown back in the WWE. I agree that he needs to use his real name, not Marcus Cor Von. I remember when Bobby Lashley came into the WWE and my friends and I all joked that Bobby Lashley was the WWE's answer to the "Alpha Male." I would personally like to see another run for him.

I would like to see him return to WWE someday soon, but age is against him. I always liked him and thought he would make a great upper mid card heel. Probably not a world champion, but he probably would of been ECW champion or US/IC champion.

I think it's a great thing he did putting a promising career with a company that anyone would kill to work for on hold to raise his sisters kids. Unfortunately not too many people would do that. Hopefully he gets a chance to return beforehe gets to old.

lol i was actually thinking about this today... there was a thread awhile back about how monty was ready for his comeback or getting ready for his comeback and then nothing was heard. he like sonny siaki had to leave wwe due to family illness and as someone said montys sister passed. if monty didnt leave i believe he would of gotten a push bc the guy was very very very good on the mic. i think at this point if he comes back it would be to tna or the new wwg fed, even tho hes on good terms with wwe bc of how he left

As long as he doesn't throw himself over the top rope anymore, then I would be fine with a return. It's always nice to see someone go flying with a Pounce from the Alpha Male.

I can't believe that I'm responding to this, but I hope he doesn't. He was a terrible wrestler, and yes---while there are probably more worse ones than him out there (I checked out our local wrestling scene Saturday night, and compared to it, Monty would be the Ric Flair of the company:worship:), than better ones, his finisher was HORRIBLE!! :banghead: Just run and bump into someone.....and I don't know what would be worse....him doing it, or someone being forced to sell it. I was anti-Monty from day one, and I never saw him as any big threat to anything.....I categorize him the same as JYD---ONLY---ONLY---because he would be that guy that would be upper tier, but would never beat the champ for the belt. JYD never held the WHC before he was tragically killed, and I think Monty would be the guy who would come out from behind the curtain when someone was popping their mouth off to get a nice small pop from the crowd....but was never in line to get the title from anyone.

i hope so i was a huge monty brown fan from when i first saw him in TNA. when the news broke that he signed with wwe i was ecstatic, didnt really like at first that they changed his name but it grew on me. sucked that he had to leave for personal reasons, hope to see him make a comeback in the near future.

He's a guy I enjoyed watching on the ECW brand..and on the Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 game... But yeh..i would love it he was to sign with WWE again...I think he could do well in the upper midcard...however seeing his age, he won't really get the push...

Even though..heres to Monty Brown in the "E" again!!

Monty Brown is someone that's never even remotely impressed me either in TNA or WWE. I really don't get why so many in the IWC have wood for this guy. He's completely overrated in my opinion and I've never seen anything out of him otherwise to make me think otherwise.

In TNA, the guy just kinda got on my nerves. Everything from that hyena laugh or whatever the hell that was he did to his mannerisms. In the WWE, he just became this lame, one dimensional heel. The IWC loves to give John Cena grief for "only knowing 5 moves' but they seem to adore Monty Brown for it.

I don't believe he'll ever wind up in the WWE again. His age is against him at the moment as the WWE is working towards building new, young stars. If he was to return by some slim chance, he'd probably only be used as a jobber. Honestly, there are a lot of wrestlers in the WWE better and more worthy of time and attention than Monty Brown.

Hopefully not. It's simple: when has he ever been impressive in regards to...well...anything. His mic skills were laughable and it seemed like his in ring work was nothing to brag about. He wasn't completely awful but he is the definition of meh. People seem to think that he would have amounted to something had he stayed with the WWE. Now I'm not from the future obviously but I have to believe that he would have been around for maybe a year and then would have been released for lack of creative direction. He fit in with the ''new breed'' storyline back when ECW was a youngin' but that would have fizzled out rather quickly. They have released bigger names than him before because they had nothing for them to do. This would more than likely be the case here.

What real reasons would they have to bring him back? For the first time in a while we are seeing creative do something interesting with younger talent and we are seeing new faces enter the title picture. Why would you want to bring back an older, far less talented wrestler to take up time the rookies could have had? He isn't a draw and isn't entertaining enough to warrant his contract. It seems like a step backwards for the WWE if anything.

I would like to see Monty Brown back in the WWE but that's very unlikely. Brown is already 40 years old, it wouldn't be wise for WWE to bring him back. Even if Brown did return he would not recieve a push. I always thought Brown was used badly on ECW. Granted he was not the most talented wrestler but I believe he should have accomplished more in his original WWE run, but it's too late now.

I never understood the fascination for Monty Brown in TNA or WWE. He had the look and came off as crazy on the mic. I remember him cutting a promo on Christian in TNA with a Bob the Builder doll. He was one athlete that just put me to sleep. I don't know how old he is and if he can still go. His best years may be behind him at this point. He could come back WWE, but I doubt it. It seems like now the only new superstars that come into WWE, come from NXT.

i was just asking myself that same question, and i would i always thought that he was pretty entertaining and he is athletic so i dotn c why u wouldnt want to sign this guy

As you said, there was a rumor flying around a few months ago that he would be returning to the WWE. Obviously, those rumors werent true, and a return didnt pan out. However, I would love to see Monty back in the WWE. He was one of those guys who was just so natural on both the mic and in the ring, as someone said before, he had natural charisma. I still have a gut feeling that he will be back in the WWE one day. It's only a matter of time right now.

I'd like to see him return but sadly I don't think he ever will....he got his shot and that's that. Mod's don't be dicks, I'm just trying to get my post count up to I can start a thread in Book This.

As much as i would love to see it the chances are slim imo, the guy is now 40 years old and has been pretty much irrelevant in in anything wretling for about 3 years now. I believe to this day his mistake was ever going to the WWE, then again you dont know how you will do unless you take the chance.

I didn't care for his WWE name too much, but the guy could cut a promo and was fun to watch in the ring! He was def a missed shot in both WWE and TNA. He did a great thing by taking care of his sister's kids after she passed, so in that regard, no I don't want him back. As far as age goes, F that to hell. If he can be a draw for a year or so, even if it is to put talent over, I'd pull the trigger no doubt.
