Will the WWE's increase in social media awareness bring back Cyber Sunday?

Do you think there is a chance of them bringing back Cyber Sunday?

We saw on Raw this week people on Twitter voting on what the stipulation should be for the Sheamus v Bryan match, and we also had Power To The People last year (when there were a few problems with the voting system, but on live T.V you can forgive them, and they gave us the match we REALLY wanted the following week).

So do you think Cyber Sunday is a possibility to return?

I dont think they'll bring back a specific PPV for anything like this - they've just patented/copyrighted "RAWACTIVE", which i think means at a stretch might result in voting on raw for a PPV stipulation, but it'll probably be all exclusive Raw voting.

Plus, TV viewers = money (moreso than PPV viewers). So the more interractive Raw is, the more potential viewers.

So, no.. i dont think they will bring back a failed and flawed PPV concept.

On a side note, all 3 match types for Bryan-Sheamus were pretty much exactly the same, just with a different name.

That would actually be a great idea.

WWE have become more active in social media, especially Twitter (ugh.... I'll NEVER use that), so for the fans who are involved with those same networks would have a great opportunity to participate in Cyber Sunday voting if it came back. I would take it over the useless PPV's like Capitol Punishment or No Way Out, we need a 12th PPV event anyhow so I do not see the harm in bringing back Cyber Sunday. They can promote it like crazy when they bring up all of the Twitter stuff, for instance. Perhaps have the wrestlers posting (within character) about the choices they think people should make, or something.

I just hope they would offer multiple decent options rather than 1 good one and a couple of awful ones that nobody would ever vote for. I'm sure that WWE would make the choices they want happen anyhow, but it's a good idea because it gives the fans yet another reason to interact with them via social media. I can easily see this happen in the near future. They do a few "Viewer's Choice" themes on Raw and Smackdown a year anyway, so it could just be a better quality version of that on PPV. Whether you liked Cyber Sunday or not, it was better than some of the trash we get for PPV's now.

No.

The reason why I think no is because these PPV's were never very good to begin with, I think it's mostly because booking is done too much on the fly the the product kind of suffered.

However you are correct that the WWE is pushing social media like Tout and Twitter. With RAW now 3 hours, I can see your idea being implemented on RAW. Which should help improve ratings due to audience participation (i.e American Idol) by having segments like "Twitter Vote Of the Week" with mathes and stipulation being voted by fans. Much like the Christian/Miz IC Title bout in RAW 1000. Also this is consistent with reports saying thee extra hour is devoted to promoting WWE's social media.

So while I think your Idea would not work as a PPV. I do feel it will be better suited for a 3 hour RAW.

No, cyber sunday as a pay per view didn't do well. But bring back Taboo Tuesday as a tv special event and we can get more of a variety of matches. All we see are singles, 3 ways, reglar tag. When was the last time we saw a tornado tag match.

It's not a ppv that did well, but i could see them trying it out again to go along with the social media thing. The results were always obvious, and it really wasn't a ppv I cared for. If they made the results a little less apparent then I wouldn't mind them testing it out again, but I don't think it would do well.
