Will the WWE Championship match between Orton and Sheamus be boring?

So we have WWE Champion Sheamus defending against Randy Orton. Two heels. However, I look at Sheamus as more of a tweener. Regardless, whoever wins won't get that much of a reaction and will be very insignificant. "Oh look, Orton won another World Title... saw that coming"... or "Oh look, Sheamus beat Orton, I still don't care." Granted, I think everyone believes Orton will win at the RR.

I know creative is looking for a Sheamus vs HHH match for the WWE title at WM, but is that really going to happen? If so, Sheamus will win at RR and we will have 3 more months of having a WWE champion that shows up every other week and dominates lower-mid carders. Or Orton will win and lose it in a month at EC.

What do yall think?

It doesn't make much sense. I hope they have a good, down the middle match but it will probably be littered with interference and stalling. Same old, same old. Two heels can have a great match, be cheered, and still be booed in character. Why doesn't WWE get this?

And no offense, but how is Sheamus a tweener? Orton gets more pops than faces sometimes. Sheamus gets nothing. He gets reactions a fluke Hardcore champion would.

Sheamus get's nothing? I'd be interested to see some evidence of that. I personally think this can be a great match. Randy Orton is the kinda guy who can pull a good match out of anyone, and Sheamus is MUCH better then we see from him on TV. I attended a house show and he tore the house down in a match against Mark Henry, match of the night IMO.

They both have the characters, intensity, and energy to put on a great match. There will probably be some interference, but that happens in face vs. heel matches to. I have tickets to the show and am more excited about this match then any of the other title bouts.

i agree, this match will be boring no one will care who wins, even tho im a huge RKO fan i still wouldn't care if he beat Sheamus for it... Also i don't even like the idea of Sheamus Headlining WrestleMainia... that thought is just wack considering he hasnt done anything amazing to earn that privilege

Sheamus doesn't have to win in order to see HHH/Sheamus at Wrestlemania. Let's say Orton wins. The next PPV is Elimination Chamber. Another gimmick match. Sheamus is one of the participants. The others could be Orton, Cena, HHH, and Dibiase. Sheamus would win the match, and something would happen between Orton and Dibiase, causeing Orton to feel that Dibiase cost him the title. HHH later wins a #1 Contender's match, setting up the HHH/Sheamus match at Wrestlemania. I don't have HBK in the match because at this point, I think he'll win the Royal Rumble and use that to challenge the Undertaker.

Yes.. yes it will and this should be the opener so we can just get it out of the way.

Orton in my opinion is highly overrated. His moveset is bland and the pacing in his matches seem to just drag on forever. I get that it's his thing to be calculating and methodical but hell Foley puts on a faster match and he can't even walk straight anymore. Mark my words, this match is going to be a crowd killer, but I'm still hoping he jobs to sheamus. You can't 'beat' Cena then job to Orton, not only is that stupid booking, but the big money is in their next match, not Orton/Cena for the 500th time.

We'll to me...scrap the WHOLE match...and actullally make a build up ...for exaample..the undertaker edge storyline build up to WM24 was AMAZING it took so many turns and twist what was gonna happen...and back to the scrapping part..here we go start at royal rumble...imo morrison wins royal rumble sheamus make a jump 2 SD! morrison sheamus wwe title WM26 Great way to give Morrison a big push...maybe have evan bourne, OR better yet SANTINO!!!!! nah im joking KOFI! he's on a great move right now and this is WWE's big chance to push Morrison, Kofi, McIntyre, Bourne etc...

it would be easy to quickly assume a boring match, but there is a chance that
orton will be massively over with the crowd for a few reasons. first, people's general dislike for sheamus holding the title, and second, orton is easily the only true tweener in wwe currently. take for instance the crowd @ raw where cena got beat down by the fans and orton got mad praise while they were in the ring with iron mike. i think the match could likely be thrown out due to interference from legacy, cena, kofi, etc...even though orton is the main heel on raw, this match could inadvertently sway him way more to an anti hero face (not the best idea right now) and make the legacy breakup a bit different. i think orton's reaction from the crowd will be the biggest deal concerning this match, and we will see how that translates and carries over to raw the next night. if he RKO's Napoleon Dynamite or Sonny Crockett the audience will likely go apeshit!

I believe this could be a fun match. I don't think we are getting a Flair vs Steamboat, but it should be a good match. I think this will be the match that causes Legacy to break up. Either Cody or Ted will cost Orton the match, or Orton wins the belt then Cody or Ted wins The Rumble. Neither of those will happen most likely, but I'm just trying to find something good out of this match. If Sheamus dose retain the title i hope he don't have it at Mania for I don't think I want to pay like 50 bucks to see him in the main event, but that's just my thoughts.

No because WWE will actually see Sheamus wrestle. He hasn't wrestle a full decent match since he feuded with Goldust and that was because Goldust was leading that match. I do think that it will be a good match, however I cannot predict the ending.

This is going to be random for some people but, I hope Orton wins at RR. Scrap the Legacy storyline with Dibiase and have Randy fight some one like JoMo or Christian. WWE just does not think outside the box.

Thanks BigGintheCG16 these chuckle heads that say sheamus isnt good or is boring and cant draw heat are the same guys that are on here all the time complaining about him and the same guys that are gona cheer him when hes still on top in 5years. I think this could b a very good match. 1st off its the rumble so I expect them to make both guys look strong and put on quite a show. 2nd both of these guys are very talented especially orton. Look at the amazing feuds hes had just in the past year. Orton is the kinda guy that always gives you his a game and makes you interested. I am very intrigued by this match I think it could be the match of the night. Think of this as the battle for the top heel on raw

I really hope they invest a little into the matchup, and that the focus shifts from RKO vs Kofi to RKO vs Sheamus. Kofi didn't get punted - as most of us think should have happened monday - and unless they have him taken out in a vignette or something tonight, I don't see why he wouldn't become involved in the match. There's also the possibility Cena could get inserted into it, as others have said.

Barring all that, I'm sure the match itself won't be bad, although I'd be biased in saying that since I'm a fan of both. And yeah, it's something we haven't seen before.

I think with tonights raw they did a good job of building the match. They left off with sheamus getting the last word in, so to speak. So, in all likelihood if orton wins the battle on next weeks raw (the last one before the ppv) he is not likely walking out with the gold. Just the way things typically go. The match still has the opportunity to be top quality, as orton is an excellent ring general and sheamus is no slouch. For all those who bitch and moan about him pull up some of his FCW work. He is a good worker and will benefit from not wrestling cena again and taking on other top guys. As I stated in a previous post I believe one way or another sheamus walks out with the strap.
