Will Duck Hunt work on a HD-TV?

Because I'm buying one an I would like to still be able to play Duck Hunt on it. I'm not planning on getting plasma, as I know it doesn't work on that. But HD? Will thatmake any difference at all? I'm technology-illiterate.

plasma and HD are not the comparsons, it's Plasma and LCD.

Duck hunt on the NES should work with an HD TV, that being said, I've never played Duck Hunt on one...
