Why Ray Lewis, why?

The Brazilian Surprise
As a life long Ravens fan and citizen of the great city of Baltimore, I cannot understand why Ray Lewis wants to leave. When Ray Lewis was on trial for those murder charges, the Ravens could have easily dumped him to avoid the negative publicity, but they stuck with him. Lewis was quoted as saying, "I dont play less,"...If you don't play less, you don't take less. That's just life."
This comes after Terrell Suggs says that Lewis, Bart Scott, and himself would take a "hometown discount", so that the Ravens elite corp. of the LB's could stay together. This shows that Ray is in it for the money, and if really cared about his teammates and the Ravens, he wouldn't be acting so irrational and considering go to the Jets. I mean, the Jets, get serious. And the Cowboys... that's a sinking ship my friend.

Don't to be worried about Ray Lewis, as his best days are gone. The Ravens have a stellar defensive philosophy that won't go away. Besides if they can keep Suggs, and Scott, along with Antwan Barnes they'll be fine. Not to mention that not signing Lewis means they may look elsewhere at that same position, or another skilled position. I don't see the Ravens falling apart without Lewis at all. Don't you remember Ed Reed?

The Ravens come in to this offseason with a new franchise QB who just made nfl history this year. I'm a Steelers fan, and I honestly care less about the Ravens, but in this case this isn't a "who is the better team" devate. I've watched them long enough to know that they are to good an organization to just fall apart. They have something similar to what the Steelers had with Big Ben. The comparisons are there in some areas between the direction of both of these rival football teams Ravens/Steelers.

I would imagine that the Ravens would be looking at a star like Ashomouga at CB in free agency. Your team finally has a QB that isn't named Kyle Boller. You all down in Baltimore should be saying "Good Riddance" to Ray Lewis. He gave you 10 years of his career, and now it is time for him to move on. Just like the Steelers did with Faneca last year, and he departed to the Jets. How funny is it that Ray may go to the Jets. I bet they draft a LB anyhow in the first round this year.
