Why? Just Give Me a Reason.

The Life Of Pablo Ren

I know my name/avi/sig don't match.
I know a lot of Randy Orton vs. Batista threads have been made, but if any moderators are considering deleting this, I ask you to please read through it... because although it revolves around the same topic, it's not another complaint/rant thread, I just have a general question.

Why does the WWE think Randy Orton vs. Batista is a good idea? Why are they (at least appear to be) dead set on making it happen?

I'm big fans of both these guys, but even I don't think this is the best choice for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, and I'm confused as to why WWE thinks it is.

I have a few answers of my own, all which I've debunked the more I thought about it.

It can't be because they think it'll draw more because neither Batista nor Orton has proven to be HUGE draws. Orton used to draw way more than he does now, and there's no telling if Batista is even a draw still.

To give Batista mainstream exposure? Perhaps. But I don't see how adding a third person into the match would take Batista's exposure away.

Could it just be that they want to show that they can't get pressured into doing something? Even if they know it's the better option?

Again, if the mods feel it needs to be removed then by all means, but for the rest...

Why do you think WWE feels this is the best idea?

I think this is part of it, they don't want fans to have too big of an impact on booking something as big as Mania and you have to believe they never expected this level of negativity.

I also think they want Taker to close the show so they are just going ahead with a WWE title match no one wants as it's irrelevant to what they have planned to go on last anyway.

I think they just screwed themselves in general. They expected Batista to get welcomed back like Lesnar or the Rock was, and probably promised him the WWEWHC at Mania before signing him. Then when he came back and got roasted, they thought they would have enough time to build him back up.

HHH needs a match at Mania (of course) so he books himself and Bryan and giving the title to somebody else doesn't make any sense... Now they're stuck and the only way I see this match changing is if Punk came back before Mania and was inserted (not gonna happen)

Batista was a big name in his initial run. He has a big movie to promote and being WWE WHC champ will be good for the company.

There is also the history between Orton, Batista and HHH which should have made for a great feud. This was meant to be a match 10 and a half years in the making. That a long damn time.

This could have been a decent feud but a lot of fans hate it. Bryan being in the title match would have been an incredible Wrestlemania moment. However, the Evolution members feuding and Batista being in his movie are both reasons enough for this to happen.

I'm guessing they thought Batista could replace the mainstream appeal they lose to casual audiences with The Rock not wrestling this year with Batista, since he'll be in Guardians of the Galaxy this summer.

I guess with Orton, for a while fans wanted Orton to turn heel since he's been stale as a face for 2 years, they probably thought they were giving the fans what they wanted.

I'm hoping they just let it evolve from two ex-Evolution members feuding to something unique with a different angle
