Why doesn't the WWE do this anymore?

Okay, so he is how I understand it. Kennedy, originally on SD! ends up being drafted to RAW at the draft in the battle royal 2 drafties part of it. Fair enough, I thought he would make a good impact... But I really don't remember anything that he did on RAW. Not one match!

Then the following year, at the battle royal part again, he gets drafted, this is where it's getting weird. Back to SD! he went, but he was injured. All that I remember of that season of SD! with him was when he came out and had a small segment with MVP, through that season because of his injury, he didn't have one match! Correct me if I'm wrong...

THEN, the next draft, he gets drafted back to RAW again!

My question is this... What the hell are they doing!?

He, in my opinion, is very charasmatic, great wrestler and even had it going on to get MitB. Why is the WWE throwing him back and forth all of the time? Why don't they just find a place where he's best suited and use him? I'm not saying get into any high profile matches because he's injured, but use him, mabye for segments and promos and junk.

Since he's injured, I've got an idea for him. Mabye he can have his own talk show segment. Not like The Cutting Edge or The Highlight Reel, but off stage where he properly interviews people behind a desk or something. He could interview people about up-coming, high profile matches. Like, interviewing Triple H on the Orton feud and his views on him. And mabye, just mabye, un-like the other segments, his scenery won't be destroyed EVERY week. I just think that using Ken this way will draw in more ratings and they won't have such charasmatic talent just lying around doing jack...

So what do you guys think, like the idea, or have a suggestion of your own?

Ok they still do this from time to time but back in the day when an injured star got injured especially before a push they would put them with the announcers and make him one until his injury has fully healed.

It's a great way to keep the wrestler in the fan's mind and if the wrestlers a heel a great way for him to continue to get heat by doing what a color commentator, well used to do, root for the heel. Root might be the wrong word but at the moment i can't find the right one. I remember Mr. Perfect and HBK did this when they were injured and it worked.

Also, it will make it easier for the injured wrestler to enter a feud when he returns because he had remained on TV. The reason i bring this up is because right now i think this is what the WWE should do with Matt hardy. With the Raw roster stacked at the moment a mid-card heel like Hardy can easily get lost in the shuffle if gone for 4-6 weeks. Maybe putting him with Cole and King would prevent him from getting lost.

I like the idea of putting a wrestler as an announcer so he doesn't get lost in the shuffle (it did alot for Perfect back in 91-92), but at the same time Perfect could talk and make announcing interesting (also perfect was injured for a year, not 6 weeks).

If Hardy did it, he should only do maybe 1 or 2 matches a night because Hardy isn't good enough on the mic where he could do commentary for 2 hours and keep it interesting. It's a good move as long as it is in moderation (At least in Hardy's case).

They should have done this with Mr Kennedy, it would have been gold and he could probably hold the show for a full 2hrs. I dont think Matt would be able to keep it all up for an entire show, they'll have to have him stay on TV or something if they are still planning on having him pushed.

i think its a perfect idea cuz we all kno matt can work the mic and if they wanna push him as a possible main event heel then commentating a couple matches a nite could greatly improve his mic skills and make him seem credible as a heel...

Ok, I never compared Hardy to Perfect. I just brought up past examples of people who have done it in the past so dont jump on the first name you see before u finish reading. Whoever said Kennedy I completely agree with. The thread was more about why the WWE hasn't done this more often. If u can think of a better way of keeping Hardy in fans minds then solid but this was my idea it isnt perfect but at the moment i haven't heard any. Because Hardy is rather bland, not that good of a heel and isn't even the most over person in his family

grant it those are reasons why he shouldnt be on the announce table but he needs something

People have already said it, Hardy couldn't do it. He'd just keep quiet too much and it'd be like he wasn't there. Kennedy could do it cos he used to commentate on High School Basketball.

If Punk ever gets injured he can definitely do it, he worked as a commentator for ROH for what... a year?

I like the idea as well to keep Matt from getting lost there on Raw and it makes a lot of sense. Same thing should be done for Kennedy. If not at the announce table, have Matt do a backstage skits of promos of some sort. Wrestling with a cast just isn't smart no matter the significance of the injury.
