Who would not have been Champion?

Let's all assume that the Brand Extension never happened and there never became two top titles. Which wrestlers do you think would not have been World champion? Here's my list

Booker T
Rey Mysterio
JBL
Christian
Rob Van Dam
Mark Henry
Eddie Guerrero
Miz
Jack Swagger
Dolph Ziggler

If there were only one title then that means there would have been a different number of main eventers so in that sense I don't think Daniel bryan and Cm Punk would have made it either. WWE would have held them down just like they held down Jericho and Edge in the Attitude Era

To be honest, and this is coming from a huge fan, but I don't think Edge would have been champion either. As much as I love the guy I thing his entire main event career was a fluke. I am saying that in the sense that WWE didn't expect much from him. They just took a chance and he went beyond expectations. If there was one title he would have fell into the same category as Daniel Bryan and Cm Punk because there would already be HHH, John Cena, Big Show, Kane, Randy Orton, Undertaker, Batista, and Umaga (who I think if he hadn't gotten suspended so many times or his sudden death then he would have eventually become champion). If you fast forward to the PG era you could replace Batista and Umaga with Shaemus and Del Rio because Vince loves Del Rio so much he would have been champion regardless. Chris Jericho may have gotten the title upon his return in 2007 but I think he would have played the same role HBK did in his 2000's career by being a main eventer but never holding the title upon his return.

Pretty good list but I will go one better - how about no one who won it. It was used for those who Vince didn't want to make WWE Champ so if they only had one title, I think pretty much everyone who won it wouldn't have but we would see a lot of guys with IC/US Title runs. Hate to say it but I don't know if Edge would have even been given a chance. With all the guys in the WWE Title picture, I don't see them pulling an extra guy into the scene.

To be honest I doubt cena would have been given the title too. Evolution would have been the 1 story line and batista would have won. Meaning cena would not have defeated jbl because he wouldn't be wwe champion. So no brand extension=no super cena

I would have to agree with most of those names, mainly The Miz, Rey Mysterio and Ziggler. I disagree with Booker T, Rob Van Dam and Eddie Guerrero. I think between 2002-2004 would've been an appropriate time to insert each in the main event title picture. Watch old clips from 2001-2002 Rob Van Dam was OVER with the audience, similar to the popularity Daniel Bryan has with the WWE Universe today. Another name I would like to add to the list for obvious reasons, The Great Khali. I feel like he would have not been World Heavyweight Champion if the brand extension had never happened.

I meant WWE and WHC not just world heavyweight champion. If thats the case then explain Miz and JBL?

That's actually VERY untrue. In 2002, Linda McMahon and Vince said that in the future the two faces of the company will be John Cena and randy Orton. This was before Evolution and during Lesnar's reign so they were already looking to replace him. Batista was only added because HHH heavily vouched for him to Vince.

If the Brand Extension never took place and there never became two top Titles, the WWE Championship Title and the World Championship Title, the reigns that I think would have never taken place are all of the WWE / World Championship Title reigns on Smackdown. Here’s a list of reigns I don’t think would have taken place, had the Undisputed WWE World Championship Title remained Undisputed.
