Who Will Be the Next TNA World Heavyweight Champion?

RatedRockstar

ROH TV champion
If you didnt watch against all odds leave now, there are spoilers!!

For those who did, hardy won the belt back......so basically my question is, who takes it off of him, i think itll be RVD, since he beat Matt Hardy tonight, and this is the most logical next step for him in the storyline hes in. What do you guys think, and provide a reason why dont just say "i think itll be matt morgan"

I can't believe some people had to pay for that PPV. It was total crap all around for the most part. If I even had to pick someone, it'll probably be RVD. But who knows with TNA now. Maybe Russo will call up Justin Bieber and he'll be the next champ?

I actually think it will be AJ Styles. I actually think TNA did this to give it to him. Since Fourtune is going to oppose Immortal, and AJ hit The Styles Clash on Jeff. AJ will take it, I think.

RVD will get his shot... But I think he will lose. A Hardy/Styles feud is what everyone wants, pretty much. Hopefully Jeff can step it up and have some of the classic matches people expect with he and AJ.

The Anderson/Hardy Match tonight was atrocious!! They or Jeff, botched the ending and had to climb back up and grab the belt. Very anticlimactic ending to say the least.

In my opinion, I think TNA should have the belt on Angle or Styles to be honest. I think they are TNA's 2 best guys and they should be milking AJ and Kurt.

This was extremely, extremely disappointing. I'm the #1 asshole out there and all he gets is a one month title reign. At first, it was being booked like shit; but it wasn't too bad these few weeks. Now, after one month, it is over.

Now, we have to deal with the shitty belt that much longer. I actually enjoyed this PPV but the Jarrett/Angle and main event had such disappointing results I have wanted Anderson to be champ for the longest time. I got my wish. Let's give this guy a one month reign. I guess Jeff pleaded guilty and took a plea agreement in his trial? I don't know. I haven't been following it. That really sucked the ending out of it. I wanted Anderson to have this epic reign that lasted for awhile. Instead, we get Hardy with the championship. Again.

With RVD defeating Matt Hardy tonight, this lays the groundwork for a future shot at Jeff. I don't know if RVD will be the next champion, but he will be next in line for the championship. I'm calling Hardy/RVD Destination X. It makes sense since they have dragged out all of this tension and RVD trying to get at Hardy for months.

I don't know. Just fuck TNA for them making Anderson dropping the belt this quickly.

You said it really well, and your probly right id like to see styles with it if RVD did lose, i think RVD will win just because so many fans have yelled for him to take it off of hardy, but your angle is just as good considering aj is a young rvd basically

I'm pretty sure that the next champ is going to be RVD.

Ever since Hogan/Bischoff came nobody outside of the guys they directly brought in has touched that title and it'll be a while before they do. That belt is just going to jump around between RVD, Hardy, and Anderson.

Now if you were to ask who should be the next champion, I'd say AJ Styles or Matt Morgan. AJ just belongs in the main event and Morgan was actually carrying the company as the top face and did a damn good job if I do say so myself, but alas neither we're hired by Hogshoff.

TNA putting the belt on Anderson for a month because of a court case where their former Champion could face jail time and then giving it right back to him.. WITH THE COURT DATE BEING THIS WEDNESDAY.. shows how big of a joke TNA is as a company. They don't deserve to compete with World Wrestling Entertainment as long as they book this garbage. To answer your question, we will get RVD vs. Hardy GUARANTEED. Stoner vs. Stoner. What an image for TNA.

With The Rock possibly coming back tomorrow, and after this crap tonight, I now find no reason to watch TNA and I know I'm not the only person. This is pretty sad.

They made Anderson a transitional champion. Lovely. What does it accomplish? Not a damn thing. Personally, I'm hoping that drug addict gets busted again in the middle of his "title reign". I would LOVE to see the look on the faces of the TNA staff as they try in vain to clean off the egg.

I truly pity anyone who actually PAID to watch this steaming pile. I guess those poor souls validate the Barnum philosophy that Russo, Bischoff and Dixie live by- there's a sucker born every minute. And most of them will watch anything.

As for who's going to be the one to take it off him- does anyone really care anymore? They'll only be champ until the fugly painted one deals with whatever legal trouble he's gotten himself into at the time. Some people think he's marketable. See the Barnum reference above.

Add this to everything else that transpired... it just proves what I've been telling people about TNA. One step forward, three steps back. And it's never going to change. Not as long as TNA is nothing more than a tax writeoff for Panda Energy. Damn, I wish summer would hurry up and get here so I can have my Burn Notice back on Thursday nights.

I feel that this was needed to continue the Fortune/Immortal storyline. Jeff Hardy having the TNA Championship can fuel the feud between Hardy and AJ Styles.

I think at some point RVD will get a title shot against Jeff Hardy but it will be AJ Styles who takes the belt from Hardy and brings back the real TNA World Heavyweight Title. This way it will be a TNA original, taking it back for TNA from all of the old WWE guys.

What is next for Anderson? Damnit all to hell if this is his only title reign in TNA. I don't want him ending up like Joe.

If I knew that Anderson was going to be a one month transitional champ, I'd rather have seen Hardy retain at Genesis, OR better, why not have had Angle or Anderson turn heel and have someone who is NOT on trial win the belt? Both Angle and Anderson are awesome heels and also WWE guys. Or, Anderson could've retained tonight and drop it at the next PPV. Not much better but damnit I'm pissed and hurt.

I guess the next champ has to be A.J Styles, because of the Fortune/Immortal storyline of having a TNA original win the belt. RVD will get his shot against hardy, but i guess he won't get the win. As for Jeff Hardy being champion and the supposed court case comming up well, we don't know what is going on, its been delayed time and time again. Its either two things: 1 Hardy has a plee agreement and since i assume its his first time being busted he won't go to jail ( i may be wrong about this). 2. Maybe and i say maybe there is not enough proof because there is no way that the case could be dekayed that much if they had solid evidence ( i may be wrong about this also as i am no legal expert) but he was buted in september 09.

Ideally I'd love to see an angle where RVD, Styles and Anderson all claim rights to be the number one contender to the title, because it will set up one helluva four-way match at either Victory Road or Lockdown.

Anderson would likely be the first to demand a rematch, but if I'm booking I have AJ interrupt any Anderson request by citing that Anderson lost fair and square and that it's time for AJ to get back into the picture, and have RVD interrupt him again talking about how he never lost the title to begin with.

The story writes itself.

Hardy had to win this. I hate this move, but someone from Immortal had to win the World Title, and Hardy was the only guy fit to do that.

This will clearly result in AJ winning the belt in the end, probably at LockDown.

I enjoyed the ppv actually....doesn't matter if I liked the results to me because the matches and in ring psychology had me entertained w the matches themselves. there were matches that lacked that especially joe vs dinero...it left me disappointed. while I cant say im not to thrilled w the end result, the matches were good imo

Guys we are talking about TNA here, they may skip AJ and RVD and not even give Mr. A-hole his rematch. Knowing them they go to Hardy vs Hardy for the Title. I didn't understand how TNA has 4tune turn on immortal then during all their matches tonight none of the groups try to cost each other matches or titles. But they gave hints of Hernandez re-starting LAX or some type of Latin American group. Kurt Angle retired so it seems they wont be resigning him, and if this was part of the storyline why would you have him be retired twice in 5 months. I guess this is TNA plan C, D,X,Y and Z. I have to be honest here but FCW has been more entertaining the last 5 month. I really want TNA to do good but they just keep shotting themselves on the foot. They should had rename tonights PPV to ''POINTLESS'' because that's what it was. And please lets not even get started on just wait to 4-3-11. Sadly TNA crash hard tonight, its not the end but it is on life support.

Y'all seem to not understand what a transitional champion is. It's when someone loses the belt so they can drop it to someone else that they didn't wanna make the previous champion lose the title too, for various reasons.

Anderson was given the title in case Hardy's legal troubles turned out for the worse. Obviously they aren't resolved but TNA put the belt on Hardy for what I assume will be either to drop it to RVD or Styles. Anderson was only given the title in the first place as a place holder just in case. There were rumors Hardy was going to regain the title on Impact but they decided to hold off.

Overall, TNA has backed themselves into a corner with who should take the title off Hardy. RVD would be logical because of what happened when he was champion before but now that they have Fortune vs Immortal thing going on, Styles also can lay claim in a story line manner. And obviously the rematch for Anderson.

Knowing TNA, they'll got a 4 way with this as they like those multi-man matches. I personally see Styles being the choice as he's TNA's only home grown star they seem to take care of.

The next feud for Jeff Hardy (after he beats Anderson in a re-match) will likely be either AJ Styles or RVD. For some reason, i think it's Styles and IF Styles wins, then Hardy will feud with Styles for likely 2 more months, then get RVD in a non-title match after his feud or he beats Styles and gets RVD next. IF i had to predict who wins the title, i have to guess Styles, but Hardy winning the title back sets up two good feuds. RVD NEVER had his re-match and who doesnt want to see Styles vs. Hardy?

I know exactly what a transitional champion is. That doesn't mean I like it. That doesn't mean I wanted it. I mean is Mr. Anderson gonna regain the belt back? He deserves better than this. They build him up for a year as one of the company's top stars and they give him a title reign and only for like three weeks he looks like a World Champion because before that he looked like shit.

I'm a patient guy. I'm willing to wait for Anderson to get the title back. If he gets it back. I like A.J. I like RVD. I wanted Anderson to be a World Champion for years and then in the blink of an eye it's over. I'd rather they give Morgan the belt. IMO Morgan has no business main eventing for TNA and I can't see why he is. Morgan as a transitional champ I am fine with. Anderson? This killed the PPV for me.

Someone wrote about a 4 way and i could see that too if TNA books it right. Anderson would want his re-match and then RVD comes out saying that he never lost the TNA title and should get a re-match, then have Styles come out and say that while he respects them that now it's his time to get the title off Hardy, but i also would like to see a 3 way match between RVD, Hardy and Styles and that would also make a bit more sense too, but this is TNA, for some reason, i think Anderson gets his re-match on an impact episode, loses and then Hardy will face a new challenger.

Yeah seriously that sucks that Mr. Anderson got a 1 month title reign, mind aswell had Jeff stay with the title all along. But I think AJ Styles will feud with Jeff Hardy and be the next TNA World Heavyweight Champion and this time hope he gets a good run, but I doubt it. It will prolly be a shitty 2 month reign.

Please let it be AJ. It has to be AJ. No RVD, no Anderson. Anderson needs to win the belt back in like a fucking year. That's how much it would take for TNA to really build him up and develop his character more until he's real ready for it, and HOPEFULLY next time he'll win it as a goddamn heel.

We're just halfway through the second month of 2011 and the title has changed hands twice. I might be wrong, but I think any plea bargain the judge will accept from Hardy's lawyers will have to include some jail time. So, they'll probably have to get the title off of Hardy before too long anyhow. TNA might play hot potato this year with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. I doubt Anderson will regain the title anytime soon, otherwise they probably wouldn't have taken it off of him in the first place considering Hardy's legal troubles are still in the mix.

I'm guessing that it'll probably be either AJ Styles or Rob Van Dam. Given the whole situation with Fortune and Immortal, I think that Styles has a stronger position, though RVD has been wanting a crack at Jeff Hardy for a while. Might wind up a 3 way feud between them for the title, which has some real possibilities I think now that Styles is a face once again.

That is the problem with the TNA haters, they think they are competing with WWF uh I mean E, when in fact they are trying to be an alternative to WWE. They tried Mondays and it didn't work so they went back to Thursdays and their ratings have been on the upswing. So for the love that is Holy please stop complaining about TNA because WWE is far from perfect. I watch both and I take it at face value after all it is pretend so let it be and just watch.

No disrespect and I'm not hating on TNA but tonight was awful, watching this ppv I got the feeling like they are going to change story lines again. They just didn't fallow up with their current story. Their top feud is immortal vs 4tune and they didn't even wink at each other during the PPV.

When I first saw the match, I thought, "Why the hell would you put the title back on Hardy?"

After some thought, it is quite obvious. All the potential #1 contenders are faces. Now the problem I have is that TNA has 4 superstars who can claim they should be the #1 contender. They could have a fatal 4 way match for the shot or just a 4 or 5 way match.

I think Morgan keeps getting screwed. Anytime it looks like he's getting a push, like the title shot last week, Hernandez interferes and now Morgan won't see a title shot in another year.

RVD NEVER lost the belt. Can somebody please explain how he didn't get a title shot upon return?

Mr. Anderson just lost the belt. Does TNA have some kind of rematch claus? If so, it would seem that he gets a shot at it.

AJ is the leader of Fourtune, Hardy of Immortal. It makes sense, so it probably won't happen.

Since Morgan will be busy with Hernandez, a fatal 4 way for the title would be cool, but with Bischoff running the company, maybe he will give Hardy a walkover match against Robbie E. Robbie E. with the surprise victory to take the belt off of Hardy.
