Who will be the next Hulk Hogan?

I guess John Cena is gonna be the Hulk Hogan... Cena carries big show, mark henry, umagu and other big guys and Hulk Hogan carries Andre...so yeah...

There will never be another Hogan. His super hero act never really got stale. Or at the very least had over a decade worth of work before it even got close to being stale.

John Cena as the unbeatable champ got old far quicker, in like...a year. Much of the audience no longer has the patience for that sort reign these days.

John Cena is essentially Neo-Hogan. He isn't (and won't ever) be as popular or as influential to the business, but he has the same exact role in the company as Hogan did. He's the "eat your vegetables" type of consistent good guy that will always stand up for the littler guy, he's the "underdog that never loses because of his out-of-nowhere strength", and he's, in a way, the face of the company.

Hogan holding his ear to the audience = You can't see me
Hulkamania = Cena 'nuff

Etc. Cena will never be as much of an icon as Hogan, but they're filling the same roles.

Why do people feel the need to label wrestlers as the next fill-in-the-blank? That's the reason why fans get so disappointed once a wrestler becomes a huge star. They fully have their hearts set on seeing Cena become Hogan, or MVP and The Rock, or Mr. Kennedy and Austin, that when they don't get that satisfaction, they immediately lose interest. Cena, Kennedy, and MVP all have qualities that can make them stars in their own rights, but, despite all the complaints that wrestling never brings anything new to the mix, most people really just want new versions of what they already saw, and don't really want to see anything different.

Put it this way, if Steve Austin couldn't become the new Hogan, no one will.

Unless somebody clones Hulk Hogan, there won't be a "next" Hulk Hogan. John Cena has a similar role, he's patriotic, charismatic, can't wrestle, but he's a draw (albeit nowhere near as big a draw as Hogan, Austin or Rock) but he is the face of the WWE right now. Even without the title, he gets bigger pops than HHH, who I have always seen as a fine wrestler but not long-term world champion material. More like just a really good antagonist.

I LOL'd ^.

And yeah there'll never be another Hogan. Cena is Hogan on a smaller level. But with worse westling skills.

There will never be another Hogan, never ever ever, just like their will never be another Rock, HBK, or Austin, people need to stop looking a today's wrestlers and trying to figure out what wrestler from the past they are gonna be, John Cena is the first John Cena, as MVP is the first MVP, and Kennedy is the first Kennedy, they are not the next anything, nobody will ever have the same effect on the business that Hogan did ever

Cena > Hogan.
Indeed.

Hogan was the biggest draw in wrestling history, there's no doubt about that. But he was so limited in terms of actual athletic ability, that there was only one type of wreslter he could face, and that was the power wrestlers. Andre, Warrior, King Kong Bundy, Goldberg. The only non-power wrestlers I can remember facing Hogan are Piper and Sting, and (lmao) Billy Kidman, and the only three of those fueds that were worth anything was with Piper.

Cena is much more versatile than Hogan ever was. People claim he has absolutely no skills, yet can work almost any style of match. He has had good matches with JBL, Umaga and Lashley, all power brawlers, Jericho, Angle, and HBK, who are all more technical style wrestlers, he's had great matches with dirty, psychology wrestlers like HHH, Edge, and Orton, hell, he even had a good match Rob Van Dam!

Hulk Hogan had more influence on the business, no doubt about that. But, me personally....I'd take Cena over Hogan any day.

You gotta be joking and if you're serious then you are a typical example of guys who don't know anything about wrestling yet they say they know it all. Hulk Hogan had NO skills.. all he did was taunt the crowd, big boots, and the worse leg drop ever. Cena have had great matches with Hbk, HHH, Orton, Umaga.. many more. Hogan had no really good matches.. just memorable ones but they were remembered not cause of the skill in the match, but for the meaning. <see andre the giant body slam, warrior ic/wwe title match>

austin was bigger than hogan, the question should be who is the next Austin?? And the answer is simply no one. cena orton kennedy mvp are the future of the business but never will there be another Austin..

Put it this way, if Steve Austin couldn't become the new Hogan, no one will.

Ok, why does EVERYONE have to be compared to the greats of the past? Why does Kennedy have to be toted by the IWC as "The Next Austin", Cena as "The Next Hogan", MVP as "The Next Rock"? Why not let them become the first Kennedy, Cena, and MVP? Last I checkd, they all have pretty good characters. Just let the people of the past go, move on, and enjoy the next generation.

its already been decided its cena they built him into a hugh face as like a superman who defies all odds he has good mic skills like hulk and shit neither of them have any wrestling skill at all i mean even hogans finisher was ass at least cena has tht but as for ur question cena is already being built into the next hogan

But i do agree that its not fair for someone to be characterized as the next austin, hogan, rock, etc.. let them be them, they all have great characters that have either gone over really good or on the uprising
