Who was the better Blade Runner?

Who has the best legacy between Ultimate Warrior and Sting? Former tag partners both went on to be HUGE stars. I'd say Sting just for the fact that he's done it over a longer period of time. But the Warrior was HUGE in the early 90's. Hell he beat HULK HOGAN for the title at Mania 6! No one was bigger from 90 to 92. Yeah Sting has had some good runs but I don't really recall him ever being "The top guy''. Other than maybe his "Crow" character from WCW circa 97.

What do you guys think?

Sting

Ultimate Warrior screwed the paying customer on numerous occasions.. I don't care how over he was at one point.. A man who got 3-4 chances and yet to this day is still trying to get every dime he can from former friends. :disappointed:

Not to mention even if Warrior's personality didn't rape the paying customer.. Sting was the better wrestler and has made the wrestling industry more money in whole.

Sting was also the top face in the early 90's in the Crockett Territory. He was the top face in both his feud with Flair and the Dangerous Alliance

Definitely Sting. Warrior had a great run, but it was relatively short. Sting was the top face for years in WCW. Sting was more consistent, more popular (long term), and a better wrestler. The question is who has the better legacy. When people think of Warrior today they think of his crazy antics outside the ring. They think of how he threatened to no show for the SummerSlam 91 main event unless Vince paid him off. They think about what a poor and selfish worker he was. That is what Warrior’s legacy is. He was extremely popular from 1988-1991, but he blew it. Sting has been consistently popular for over 20 years. He was much better in the ring and respected outside the ring too. Warrior beat Hogan clean at WrestleMania at the peak of Hulkamania. As big as that was it doesn’t make up for all his wrong doings. Sting clearly has the better legacy.

You know I'm going to go against the grain here and say The Ultimate Warrior.

For wrestling ability I'd pick Sting. But, it's the Ultimate frickin Warrior! I grew up loving the guy. I know all about his outside the ring stuff but there was just something magical about him when I was young. Plus I've still got my Ultimate Warrior wrestling buddy cuddly toy thing that my baby boy likes playing with and I've lost my Sting one (along with Hogan and Macho Man actually. Damn I hate moving home!).

So, yeah, I'd say Warrior, and kudos for him for being one of the only guys to ever beat the WWE at their lawsuit happy game, along with his reasons for not going in the hall of fame. He might be nutty but, he is still kinda the man, in a Psycho Sid kinda way!

Sting by a country mile.

Now I will admit that as popular as Sting was, he never quite reached Warriors popularity level, but in retrospect and looking back at their careers today, the Warrior can't touch Sting in any way, shape or form (except in charisma).

Both guys were extremely charismatic and had good careers, but Sting was always the more impressive of the 2 (even when warrior was at his peak). Flair said it best "Sting was our Ultimate warrior, but he was a 1000 times better, and he was a good guy on top of it".

Both guys were the face of their respective promotions, but Sting stayed relevant a lot longer than warrior did, the Warrior had 3 amazing years, but Sting had about 12 amazing years under his belt. He was a far better entertainer and wrestler than Warrior ever was, he was better on the mic and his promos actually made sense, and even though WCW wasn't as big as the WWE in the early 90's he was still their Number 1 guy for a lot of years, Warrior was the WWE's top guy for about 10 months. Sting had a lot of great matches and could actually hold his own against guys like Flair and Hogan whereas Warrior only had great matches when their opponents carried him to a great match, really all Warrior was, was a musclebound freak who had an awesome entrance, as soon as that guy was in the ring you got sick of him (even as a 5 year old I had difficulty watching Warrior matches).

Warrior had a body, an entrance and charisma, that's it. Sting had all of those as well (plus a whole lot more), but he never worked for the WWE, if Sting worked for Vince during the late 80's-early 90's, Warrior wouldn't of even became IC champ let alone World champ, he was better than Warrior in every way and if he had the WWE machine behind him, he would have reached a level of popularity above what the Warrior reached.

I would have to say Sting. Sting has the longevity to obviously go along with a bigger and more well rounded body of work. Plus Sting has the ability to play both face and heel. I dont think Warrior was ever a heel, was he?

Well...this is somewhat of a no-brainer, but I would say Sting.

When the Warrior was in Texas (called the Dingo Warrior), he was phenominal.....I don't know if he ever won the Heavyweight Title (after all, he wasn't a Von Erich), and moved to the WWE, ---his repitoire consisted of sticking out his arms, blowing his cheeks like a cheap hooker, and then that's it. The one thing that sticks in my crawl ---and yes, the Warrior DVD was all mostly bashing by WWE people, but I think this is a legit bitch----but the time that Lawler was to take a picture, or gold record, or whatever, and hit him over the head with it.....the Warrior wore a baseball cap! It's explained a little more detailed as to why he wore it (when he's never been seen with it at any other time), but something to do with the fact that he didn't wanna take the bump, or sell it, or whatever. My whole point of that little trip down memory lane is that at the very LEAST--Sting isn't afraid of a beatdown, to job, to take his lumps for the sake of the storyline and the company (which is the most important). RVSisTNA even states that "he even beat Hulk Hogan" and I would say that beating Hulk is no big deal. GETTING Hulk to job for you is.....and so on a scale of 1-10, Warrior scores a .5 for that accomplishment. No offense RVDisTNA.

Sting.....well....not now, but back then, was very believable in his stories, acting ability, etc....and c'mon...when he went up against Flair on the first Clash of Champions for 45 minutes...you really think Warrior could last that long? Not to mention, do more than three moves? Hardly. Sting will be--at least for awhile---the Pete Rose of wrestling. Worthy of the honor----but not in it because of Vinnie Mac.

Definitley gonna go with Sting. He may not have ever been as over as Warrior was for a short period of time, but certainly was madly over no matter where he went, and was always a consistent wrestler. I'm personally not a huge Warrior fan, he seems to have a very bad attitude, never really had a good charecter, and wasn't very good on the mic, and couldn't wrestle for jack shit, he really proved that looks can get you quite far in the wrestling buisness.

Sting on the other hand, is good on the mic, has a great look, a great charecter, and I've never heard of anyone complain about Stings backstage attitude at all. So yea, Sting is the better Blade Runner by a landslide.

Easily Sting. Sting was the top dog in WCW and his character was one of the coolest ever. I mean Warrior was good but he was an asshole outside of the ring so he'll never get the recognition he deserves. Sting has always been a consistent performer and he always will be. Sting came into TNA to be the top dog and at age 50 is still putting up great matches. The answer will ALWAYS be sting.

Overall I would have to say Sting he has accomplished so much more but...

The champion vs champion match at Wrestlemania VI was such a huge event, and for Warrior to go over Hogan was a bigger one time moment than anything Sting will be remembered for. Don't agree BWO, Hogan didn't just let anyone get over him.

Sting will be remembered as a great wrestler and a great champion, his list of accomplishments is something any guy on the current roster outside of the Undertaker and HHH would give their grandmother to have but Mania VI was a monster.

Warrior screwed the Warrior.

Like most everyone else I have to go with Sting. He was always a solid wrestler, he had great charisma, and was a professional inside and out of the ring. Personally I hated the warrior, he was a lackluster wrestler who belived his own hype that was created by Vince and the WWE as they tried to make him the next Hogan. Beating Hogan was no big deal as Hogan was on his way to hollywood to make movies and Vince told him to pass the torch. The warriors lack of professionalism both in and out of the ring is what sealed his own fate. Vash21 just summed it up perfectly, Warrior screwed Warrior

Sting was way better than that overrated other Blade Runner. Sting was a very good wrestler with tons of charisma. Sting had a great look with the blond flat top and the unique colorful facepaint. He also had great outfits as well. Sting had far better matches and his promos were better as well. I would also say that Lex Luger is a better in ring performer than the Ultimate Warrior ever was. The Ultimate Warrior is the most overrated wrestler. His wrestling abilities sucked and his in ring promo sucked.

Exactly true. Sting was a wrestler who actually gave a damn about the business and how to make himself a better performer, but for the Warrior..who just didn't care or respect the business like Sting did..he fizzled out while Sting is still wrestling.

I'm not a Luger fan, but gotta agree with you there..he was a better performer, but that's not saying much..LOL:lmao:

If it was One Night Only and I had tickets to sell, there is no doubt whatsoever that I would hire Warrior. Possibly the best wrestler ever at getting the crowd going, and certainly more of a draw than just about anyone else in Pro Wrestling history besides Hogan and Austin.

I I was building a promotion, then I'd say Sting, because not only is he competent enough to be a big time long term player, he isn't completely deluded and unreliable in the same way that Warrior is. The answer as to who's better, depends on who you are, but if they were on the same card, Warrior would be in the main event.
