I just made this thread a few days ago.. anyway for me despite him "needing" it or not I would have loved to have seen Jake Roberts hold the belt. William Regal and The British Bulldog also.

Hands Down Owen Hart.. Then the Bulldog..... But to think what the attitude Era would have been like had Owen lived through it??? Some of the feuds... he fought Austin, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and Rocky Miavia.... But what if he feuded with The Game... The Most Electrifying Man in sports Entertainment... or the Undertaker... Kane... Big Show.....possibilities were unlimited

Ludvig Borga??! That coulda been interesting! I dunno why, but I've always been a fan of the fueds between the nations....Canada/USA, Iraq/USA, etc... So that could have worked. Having him and Lex Luger battling it out for the title in that era coulda been cool.

I definitely agree with Muhammad Hassan. WWE dropped the ball with him, this could have been awesome! Giving him the title making him a legitimate threat to ppl like Cena, HHH, Taker, Batista. He definitely had the makings of a star.

As for Old School....Owen Hart, Mr Perfect, Rick Rude, Jake Roberts, even Andre the Giant should've had a decent run as champ. I would have liked to have seen more one on one between Macho Man and Ted Dibiase for the title back in 88-89 with having Ted Dibiase winning the title for a bit. and for the record...I doubt any of these were withheld from being champs because of Hogan.

Ricky Steamboat. Such a great wrestler and even in his 50s can still put on a decent 10 minute spar. As for Ludvig Borga he came in the form of Brock Lesnar many years later.

I have 3 top picks from each era the 80's the 90's and 2000's none of these guy I am naming haven't been mentioned

80's I know I am gonna get a lot of crap for this but I think that Junkyard Dog could and should of been WWE champion at the time of the 80's JYD was an established star through all the territories and a top draw for a lot of promotions. One of the main reason Vince signed him was his huge fan base in the south and since the WWE was moving from an east coast wrestling product to a global world wide product. JYD came to the WWE and he was as popular as Hulk Hogan in the federation helped build up some of the top villains in the WWE. His charisma, mic skills and wrestling ability help really make him a huge name in pro wrestling if JYD was giving a chance to win the tournament he might of sold more merchandise and tickets as Macho Man anytime Hogan teamed with JYD for a house show main event they sold out the arena.JYD being Hogan's partner as the mega powers and then make him a heel he would of had more heat than anyone in the WWE more than Dibasie and Andre the Giant. JYD is my pick to be the WWE champion in the 80's

90's Vader: The mastadon the man they call Vader definitely should of been the WWE champion in the 90's and not just in 96 or 97 but even in the attitude era. Vader was an intimidating site too see 450 pound man was strong as a brick wall and as fast as any high flyer. He was brutal in the ring breaking wrestlers backs. And a big time hardcore wrestler Undertaker might have brutalized Mick Foley but no brutalized Foley like Vader did. When you talk about attitude and doing whatever it takes to win plus flatten and hurt his opponent Vader definitely had all of that. I can't understand how when the WWE was looking for this attitude that they did not look in his direction.Vader in my opinion should been a 4 time champion know he came from WCW where he was champion before so maybe that's why Vince shitted on him so much but I definitely agree about everyone who was named from the 90's but Vader needs to be there as well regardless if he was WCW and New Japan. Whose the man Vader is the man

2000's Goldberg: Yes I said Goldberg WWE failed at taking advantage of having unstoppable presence like Goldberg sure he destroyed almost everyone in his path in WCW and when he first came to RAW. Goldberg had already established his name and all the fans wanted to see him battle the WWE's best second to Sting he was the only other guy WWE fans had waited for to arrive. I feel that if Goldberg won the Rumble in 2004 and challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE title at Mania the hype and the build up to the main event at WMXX would of been bigger than it was. Having them wrestler for nothing ruined the match before it started. Goldberg as WWE champion I feel would of made lots of money and wouldn't have to suffer now with this Cena crap till late late 2007 or 2008. Depending on Goldberg s legs, plus WWE could of taken advantage of the Goldberg vs Taker match @ WM which would sell out arena anywhere. Like I said maybe because these guys built up there name else where and were already established Vince wouldn't put. them over. Goldberg should have definitely lasted more than a year and he should of got the taste of being WWE champion because he was a phenom in his own right and He did capture the imagination of fans world wide.

Goldberg was famous for his streak. Notice those matches result in use of only two moves. And for good reason as I will never remember him for his ability to sell in the ring or put on a good match. While he can draw a crowd he was misused in WWE much like Bret Hart was in WCW.

I would have to say The American Dream Dusty Rhodes I been a Hugh Dusty fan for 23 years and when he was in the WWF back in early 90 I thought he could have been a great WWF Champion but no it was Hogan and Slaughter then Hogan again I still think they should have put the belt on Rhodes even if it was only for 10 minutes.
another wrestler that I still think should have been a WWF Champion was Owen Hart his Heel gimmick was brilliant blaming Bret for there loss at the Royal Rumble 94 two matches he put on with Bret were classics at Wrestle Mania X and at Summer Slam 94 in the steel cage Although I am a Bret Hart Fan have been sense the 80's I think Owen should have been a world champion he sure deserved it IMO.
