Who should be MVP's next opponent?

Ok, with Matt Hardy out for the next 8-10 weeks who do you think is going to fued with MVP now?

I think that the logical step would be for the WWE to start a programme between MVP and Rey Mysterio. It'll be a good one in my opinion as both are just great performers and I think that Rey could teach him a lot about wrestling smaller, quicker guys than the normal roster.

I would like to see MVP drop the belt to Mysterio at one point as well because I think MVP winning the title back from Rey would give him a great push up the ladder.

I would also like to see MVP feud with Rey Mysterio next. The whole MVP/Matt Hardy thing was getting quite boring, so I'm kind of thankful that he's injured, because WWE would keep it going for ever. This feud would be perfect because MVP needs a new wrestler to feud with, to freshen things up. Rey Mysterio needs a good feud because he's done absolutely nothing since his feturn except for a boring feud with Finaly that is apparnetly over. I'm positive in these two putting on an amazing feud. If Mysterio were to feud with MVP, I would love to see the belton him.

well that can be good but i was hoping for MATT HARDY to eventually win the US title but i think it would also be good for REY MYSTERIO as well..but maybe they can move MATT over to ECW and have him help CM PUNK since there are now alot of TOP HEELS on ECW!

Chuck Palumbo he's not as great as he use to be but Palumbo is still not bad and he needs a push since he's now done beating Kenny D and Masters (whose now gone) and from what I know hasn't even been used anymore. I dunno what it is I'm just liking his new look and gimmick and it would be a shame if WWE didn't put him in the US title spot.

Definitely have to go with Mysterio here. His program with Finlay seems to be over, so they both need somewhere to go and have no other options. Palumbo's a little too new on the spot to boost him this quickly and Smackdown/ECW unfortunately doesn't have a strong face midcard, so Rey being demoted slightly would give MVP a stepping stone to the main event level. Its just a shame that they've been dragging this Hardy thing out for so long and it seems like every time there's some progress, either the WWE doesn't feel confident enough to give him the title or some weird medical thing comes up (MVP's condition, Matt's head injury, now this).

I'd either chose Mark Henry(lets face it, he's never going to be world heavyweight standard) Rey mysterio (same applys to him, he's just too small...and could get crushed at any second) or finaly(but as he currently is in some story lines on raw, this probably wont happen.

well i say that rey and mvp start a feud where rey wins the title from him right away..then they feud up till about NO WAY OUT where MVP wins the title back then at WM MATT comes back and faces MVP for the title and wins it..thus moving MVP to ECW fighting for the ECW TITLE!

Finlay or Mysterio. Finlay has basically turned face and he's a solid performer who won't let you down. Rey Mysterio is the logical choice as he is currently not involved in anything, although Mysterios matches for the most part suck. Both potential feuds would nevertheless be good, and I'm a bit bummed that MVP-Hardy never got the match to climax a very good feud.
No one has mentioned Kane, and although we have seen this feud before, a pinfall victory over Kane would get MVP over as he keeps on going from strength to strength.

- Matt Hardy's Appendix burst actually had him on his death bed. If he didn't get to the hospital in time he could have died due to the toxins poisoning his body. As reported he is expected to be out for 3 months then return to continue his feud with MVP until Wrestlemania.

- There is brief talk about putting MVP in a short feud with Jeff Hardy.

This would be silly in my opinion having Jeff and MVP fueding. I know it makes sense, but I think they could do that same kind of fued with Rey as a really good friend of his.

As to having them pick up the Matt and MVP fued in the build up to Wrestlemania may be a good idea as long as MVP drops the title to Hardy at Mania so they can both move on. I've enjoyed their fued and their matches and this break will make it fresh when he comes back.

Now that Matt Hardy is going to be out for a few months with his appendix problem, where do you think the US title is going? It seemed like it had nowhere to go as it was (aside from transferring it from MVP to Hardy) since Smackdown needs to have more of a midcard, but now that Hardy's out, what do you think will happen? Is Rey going to cover it, since he has nothing to do either, or are they going to use him against Edge once Edge/Undertaker is over? Is Palumbo getting the push? Festus? Lol. What are your thoughts?

Well it would have to be rey mysterio. He is the only good option left, he and mvp could put on some great matches together. Jeff shouldnt get involved he is too busy on raw and finlay is too busy with hornswoggle and khali now so i think it has to be rey. should be a pretty good fued but i expect mvp keeping the title.

Hmm... First of all I wish Matt a speedy recovery and can't wait to see him back in the ring. Scary stuff with that whole situation. As far as the US title picture goes... MVP has done nothing with it for a long time now. I know he had that heart condition and that's why I'm not saying he's a bad champ. However I do think it's time that we start seeing some matches for the US title. A few of you guys are saying Mysterio. I'd actually be a little surprised by that. Since ECW and SD! have pretty much combined. I would not be all too surprised to see someone like Elijah Burke feud for a little while. After all it's not like the situation with Edge and Taker where WWE needed to wait for both men to return. Another possiblity seems to be Jeff Hardy for some reason. Unless Jeff's going to be pulling double duty like Finlay seems to be doing, or HHH turns heel on him and wins the IC belt I don't see that happening. Mysterio's future on SD! seems really uncertain right now, and it seems that some people are pushing for him to be moved to Raw and Umaga moved to SD! which could open the door for a face Umaga vs MVP feud?

Though Burke/MVP would be a good feud, I don't see them setting up two heels against each other when they have Mysterio, and he has nothing to do at the moment. They tend to do face vs heel. Now, I love a good heel vs heel match cause you get to root for a heel and not throw the WWE off their tracks, lol. But ECW doesn't really have any midcard faces and Smackdown only has Palumbo...but I can't see them pushing Chuck just yet. They should have him do some ECW matches, I think.

Is it just me, or do you guys also think that no matter who starts feuding with MVP, he'll retain it so he can drop it to Hardy?

Hardy deserves the title, but MVP also deserves a longer run. Perfect. Have MVP in another feud till No Way Out. Hardy returns. Excellent. They have had 5 months of prior building so it will feel like a proper Mania match. But you wont have seen them in a one on one match since The Bash.

I agree, although not completely. Matt should come back and win the title from MVP, however I think there is another plan to get Jeff into the WWE title picture.

Maybe this should be in a different thread but, I would like to know if anyone else has noticed that he still isn't very good on the mic? He has also misstepped quite few times recently.?

His feud with Rey is going to be great. MVP has shown great improvement and has great wrestling talent. We know him and Rey will have a great match. His feud with Jeff sounds kind of stupis but as long as MVP wins I'm happy.

His match with Matt at Wrestlemania should be great. The match has been building up for a long time now and truly feels Wrestlemania worthy. It should be one of the best matches on the card.

After that, maybe a main event push is in line. Maybe a feud with Edge would be great. An Undertaker feud sounds great too. They could both help to put him over.

I think Rey and MVP would be a good feud. However, i think if Rey won the US title, it would be a step down for him. I would love to see him as World Champion again, but i think the U.S. title would hold him back. But it would still be a good feud.

As far as Hardy and MVP at Wrestlemania, i personally think that they should both be in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, considering Hardy's history with ladders. Then Matt can win the title at Backlash. Or maybe even have Hardy win the Title before Mania and have them in MITB.

MVP needs a new Gimmick! He is seriously a replica of Edge, except Edge is in a major major main event level. I think it made perfect sense to move MR Kennedy to Raw cuz then their'll be 3 oppotunists in Smackdown. So as far As MVP's future, I dont have a clue. Their should only be one Dr Thuganomics, Deadman, King of Kings, Underdog and Oppotunist! seriously/

i think seeing E.C.W and smackdown are running as almost the same show atm that they should do a brief Champion vs champion fued with M.V.P vs CM Punk they are both good wrestlers and would make it easy cos CM Punk wouldnt need the US title because he is the E.C.W champion. Then to make it more interesting let M.V.P win the ecw championship even if it is only for a week or so it would get M.V.P over and would also boost cm punks popularaty once he one it back.

or i could even imagine M.V.P saying once he won the ecw championship that he was ashamed to have that title saying it was a step back for him and vacate the title so he doesnt actually lose it.

I could agree with MVP and Rey putting on a good match together; although I really dont watch Smackdown anymore.. but now that Edge; Lashley and etc are scheduled to return I think I might tune in every now and then.

Hardy will be back in time for a big WrestleMania feud with MVP, so I think we could actually see someone like Chuck Palumbo step up and challenge. Maybe they could do an interpromotional thing and have someone like Tommy Dreamer feud with him for a bit.

MVP could play the athlete, with Dreamer wielding the kendo stick. They'd wrestle on both brands. I don't know, just a thought.

I would like to see Matt Hardy and MVP resume their fued when Matt returns, Matt is way overdue a singles title run IMO (I am not counting his Cruiserweight title or hardcore titles as serious runs, I know he was European champion for a little while as well).

Matt could take the strap at Mania, then MVP could perhaps get drafted to Raw, maybe feud with Jeff for the IC title for a bit, or even feud with Jericho or HBK, that would give him a bit of rub so to speak with more big stars.

Well Matt Hardy has to get the title soon, but in the mean time MVP should have someone like Tommy Dreamer or (Bring him back right now) Sandman or even Sabu .
Yes I know they are not in the company, but it would be good to have them back on the ECW roster.
Or MVP could drop the belt to someone and get moved to a more main event sort of spot. Like fighting against Edge, Batista or The Undertaker
