Who is your favorite movie character?

Warrior Forever
We all have favorite movies, but if there was one character out of all those movies that you had to pick as your favorite who would it be?

For me it's difficult because being the movie buff I am, when I think about my favorite roles out of every movie I've ever seen many come to mind. Some of those include Emilo Estevez as Billy The Kid in Young Guns, Leonardo Dicaprio as Danny Archer in Blood Diamond, Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in Tombstone, Clint Eastwood as Walt Kowalski in Gran Torino and Gerard Butler as Clyde Shelton in Law Abiding Citizen. I could go on for days about hundreds of brilliant roles performed by great actors but one of those stands out from the rest for me.

Kevin Costner as Thomas Murphy in 3000 Miles to Graceland
I tend to go for the slightly unstable but brilliant and badass characters when it comes down to my favorite roles, nobody has played that better than Costner in this awesome action flick. He plays a crazy criminal who believes that he is Elvis Presley's illegitimate child and assembles a team of cons to rob a casino during international Elvis week in Las Vegas. When things get out of hand he gets more wreckless and insane, this movie has some of the best gun battles in any movie I've ever seen, and he stays right in the fire the entire time. I mean what is more badass than Kevin Costner, Howie Long and Ice-T taking on an entire Swat team? Describing it doesn't do justice once bit, but I would reccomend this movie to anyone, to see not just my favorite character but one of my favorite movies, if you like action you will love this movie.

Gordon Gekko, this is a classic frm wall street, michael's others are also gud.
Nick nolte as the Yoda in The way of the peaceful warrior really taught his stdnt perfectly.
Schindler in the epic schindler's list,he was d man!
Captain jack sparrow ,depp plays drunkard with ease.

Mr. Darcy - Pride and Prejudice (2005)

When I first read the book, I was madly interested in Fitzwilliam Darcy's character from the beginning. Then I watched the movie and it just made me love his character. He's so.. Manly. LOL and handsome. I'm usually not the kind to be into the
quiet/ arrogant/ proud character - whether it be a story, movie or anime. It would've been more like me to prefer Bingley's character over Darcy but this was a total exception. He had to be understood. And someone had to break that shell he had surrounded himself by. I could go on about it almost forever! Everytime I watch the movie.. I wish I could just dive into it and be there. >.<

Perhaps an iconic actors most iconic character, Fast Eddie Felson from The Hustler, played by Paul Newman.

This role just embodied a confidence and coolness that is so hard to see replicated, and it all seemed to come with absolute ease to Paul. The journey his character undertakes throughout the film is a very engrossing one and the ending is somewhat bittersweet given all that has happened, but hearing this quote at the end always makes my day,

"How should I play that one, Bert? Play it safe? That's the way you always told me to play it: safe... play the percentage. Well, here we go: fast and loose. One ball, corner pocket. Yeah, percentage players die broke, too, don't they, Bert? How can I lose?"

The character that Denze Washington played in Man on Fire in 2004\
Man_on_fireposter.jpg

The guy's name is John Creasy and he is the most bad ass protagonist I have ever seen portrayed in an action film. He goes around Mexico trying to re capture a little girl that he was supposed to bodyguard. During this time he gets out of his alcohol addiction and begins to develop a liking for the girl. everything he does is just so creative and brutal! Mexican kidnappers are killed one by one by Creasy in the most bad ass ways you can think of.

He dies at the end so great job by Washington in this role

Captain Jack Sparrow, probably my favorite series of movies and Depp as Jack is definitely why.

Riddick in Pitch Black, Vin Diesel was just so bad ass in that movie, not so much in anything else though.

Brody Bruce from Mallrats, any comic geeks no why!

Hmmm.... Hard choice for me but I think I'm gonna go with

Legolas-sharp-ear-as-popular-trend-in-cosmetic-surgery.jpg

Orlando Bloom as Legolas.

I'm sorry but he rocks that role! He does great with the bow and arrows, makes great fight cene' and makes the character look awesome. Good choice for the movies and very well done by Bloom.

These things change a lot for me, but there are a few that are always hovering near the top. I'll choose the one at the top for me right now.

Tyler Durden.
This was a mindblowing character, and one of the very best characters ever to arise during my late teenage years... actually I think I was 20 at this time. Still, awesome character, and I've always liked him.

BTW Tyler Durden is part of the reason I like The Miz. The Miz frequently channels Tyler Durden in his promos. Check out his promo during the road to wrestlemania this past year, where he takes out John Cena with the belt, and then gets right in front of the camera and starts his promo against The Rock with "Hello, Rock. We haven't been properly introduced. I'm The Miz, the WWE Champion!" That promo was f**king epic, and it always reminded me of this scene from Fight Club.

This guy!

Indiana Jones is the greatest movie character of all time! For me anyway. Might sound a bit cliche or main stream for some of you guys above, but when it comes to my favourite character no one can hold a whip to Dr. Jones!

Paul Newman as Hud
paul_newman04.jpg

His best role, hands down. He was the villain you couldn't help but root for. Tortured, jaded, angry, guarded - basically all things which make up a deep, interesting character. It worked, from start to finish. I hated Hud, but felt bad for him at the same time. That's the difference between an anti-hero and a villain - Hud was definitely an anti-hero... who never really accomplishes anything. Anyhow, it was great, Newman owned all sorts of ass. Check it out.

My favourite character sara and tracy.I like the role of Roomaters movie........Roommates is a supereb thriller movie. And i didn't see Somebody Help Me 2.But its story regarding Brandon's nightmares. The movie seems too good.

I have two.

1. Elizabeth Bennet. I chose the Jennifer Ehle version from the BBC mini series over the Kiera Knightly Hollywood version because I htink she conveys the true character much better and Elizabeth Bennet is without a doubt my all time favorite fictional character.

2. Olive Penderghast. Because Emma Stone is the most amazing person on the face of this planet. And the character is just so sassy and confident!

Michaelcoreleone.jpg

It's a tough choice, but I'm going with Michael Corleone here. Al Pacino has delivered a good amount of memorable performances throughout his career, but the Michael Corleone character has always been my personal favorite.

In The Godfather, the Michael Corleone character is someone who doesn't to join the family business at first. He seems like a quiet man, but he slowly works his way to the top of the Corleone empire. Pacino did such a great job with Micheal's transformation into the boss of the family, and towards the end of the film, the transformation comes full circle, as Pacino takes control.

Pacino was excellent in The Godfather, but he actually took everything to another level in The Godfather Part II. Pacino was so cold and calculating, and he did look like a true villain, who was filled with anger and hatred. I'll never forget the scene where Michael slaps Diane Keaton's character in the face. Kay was prepared to leave Michael, and she wanted to take the children with her. Michael tries to calm her down at first, but Michael becomes enraged, when Kay tells him about a secret abortion. Michael's slap in this scene felt so shocking, and Pacino did a great job of showing some real anger here, as he helped provide a speechless scene.

Michael became a broken old man in The Godfather III. He regretted his past, and the evil side of personality began to haunt him. Michael wanted to go legit, but he couldn't escape the past, and they did "pull him back in." Michael seeks forgiveness throughout this film, and he has to endure the tragic and sudden loss of his daughter. The Michael Corleone character was this strong and proud man in the previous films of this series, but in The Godfather III, Michael just looks like this guy who's had enough. He doesn't want the power anymore, and he doesn't want to do the dirty work anymore. He just wants a way out, and a chance to start a new life.

The Michael Corleone character undergoes some serious personality changes throughout The Godfather film series, and Al Pacino always delivered an outstanding performance in each film. Corleone in The Godfather II will be remembered as the best performance, but each version of the Corleone character in The Godfather film series was unique in their own way.

pleasence2.jpg

Yeah, I know I was only supposed to go with one here, but I can't resist the temptation, when it comes to Dr. Samuel Loomis, because he is a close second for me.

Donald Pleasence was always on the mark, when he portrayed this character in the Halloween films. Loomis could be this wise old man most of the time, but he could also have his crazy moments, because he was willing to do anything, if it meant Michael Myers' destruction. And you could really feel the frustration in the Loomis character as the film series progressed. I've always thought Halloween 6 (The Curse Of Michael Myers) was a piece shit, but I will watch that film, because I can never get enough of Pleasence as Loomis.

I didn't have a too big of a problem with Malcolm McDowell as Loomis in Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2009). McDowell is a fine actor, but I HATED the Loomis character in Halloween II. Rob Zombie turned him into this wannabe celebrity, who was a real pompous ass most of the time. Sure, Loomis changed at the very end of the film, because he wanted to correct his mistakes, but I still couldn't stand Zombie's version of Loomis in this film. Also, the Loomis character in the new Halloween films was a quitter most of the time. Pleasence's version of Loomis ALWAYS wanted to do everything and anything he could to stop the murderous rampages of Myers, but McDowell's Loomis did give up sometimes, and the "let's see if I can make a shitload off money of Myers" stuff in Halloween II always drives me nuts.

These things change a lot for me, but there are a few that are always hovering near the top. I'll choose the one at the top for me right now.
Remember that time in this thread, I said this? ^

Yeah I'm on to a different guy that is also always hovering near the top.

This movie is the ultimate man's movie. You'd be very hard pressed to find anything that's even arguably better than this. Why? Ash Williams is why. He's the inspiration for 80% of Duke Nukem's quotes, and he's the only hero that I'd feel confident picking in a fight against guys like Jason, or Freddy.

Ash, like Bruce Campbell, is pure awesome.

Jules-Pulp Fiction, a total badass spawned from the mind of one of the most brilliant directors of all time, Quentin Tarantino

Hello All,

My favorite movie character is all time "Sylvester Stallone" He is most talented actor in Hollywood Film Industry. I love to watch all of his Movies....

I'll probably catch some flack for this, but the only guy that is coming to mind when it comes to my all time favorite movie character is Napoleon Dynamite. Heder was excellent in a stupid humor kind of way and the character was pure entertainment. From his antics, to his quotes, to his mannerisms, to his wardrobe, lifestyle, everything. It was great across the board and to this day I quote not just the Dynamite character, but the movie in general. Sure it isn't a flashy megastar, but it works for what it is.
