Which style of video package do you prefer?

Occasional Pre-Show
TNA Package

WWE Package

From those two example I can see a sharp contrast between the two. While the WWE goes for the overly-dramatic good vs evil promos with the flashy effects, TNA does a much more basic, gritty, almost more realstic style of show casing the feud.

Personally I think WWE have perfected these packages perfectly over the years and are always great to watch to get hyped for the big feuds. The timing with the music is always good and they just have consistent quality.

That being said I can see why people would prefer TNA's style. While WWE ones seem larger than life, TNA's video looked more personal and that feeling of realism is what wrestling has always strived to imply.

I prefer WWE's video packages, easily. The HBK/Taker video package from this past Monday on RAW, pretty much shows why. I love how they time the music with the video. I love all the emotion in the videos. Another video package that I loved, and IMO is the greatest one WWE has ever produced, was the Taker/Lesnar video package for their Unforgiven 2002 match. How WWE did that one, was awesome. The timing of the music *Adrenaline by Gavin Rossdale*, with video made it that much better. Add in all the emotion from the feud...simply awesome.

I love how WWE picks the PERFECT song to coincide with the mood of the rivalry btwn whoever the 2 guys are that are feuding....the HBK/TAKER package from last monday gave me goosebumps which in turns makes me super excited for the rematch at Mania.....& it isnt alwyz just feuds, sometimes it'll be a package on just a ppv, showcasing all of the matches & what led up to each match....one of my favorites is Summerslam 2003

I'm going to go with TNA. WWE's are great with the editing and effects, but I personally do not like the music they select for the videos. ilivewrestling, I agree with you that they choose fitting songs, however hearing a softer generic rock song that WWE loves to use really does not get me personally pumped up for a match. I'll be watching a WWE video package, and love it, then they start playing a song that completely ruins it for me. It might just be me, but I roll my eyes when I hear a softer song playing. It just aggravates me to no end.

Another reason is that WWE's video packages seem to drag on. Some of them seem like they're taking up half the show (thats an exaggeration obviously), and then they replay them at least once every week. When they show a long video package, plus endless replays of video recaps of the events in the feud, it starts becoming an annoyance to sit through it all.

TNA has a lot less effects, which does not necessarily hurt the video packages. The music they play is WAY less distracting, and that's mainly the thing that makes me like theirs better.

While TNA video packages are not as memorable as WWE's... WWE's really can annoy the hell out of me with the music and the constant replaying. So I'm going with TNA.

Generally speaking, TNA has terrible production values, though they are getting better. That being said their video packages aren't that bad, and I think generally they get the job done. However, whereas the WWE videos are always about as good as each other, the TNA ones really depend on how good the promos in the feud leading up to the match were. The WWE ones may be over produced at times, but they are certainly of a better quality than the TNA ones on average.
