Which Games are you looking for this Christmas?

The Raven's Epitaph

Getting Noticed By Management
EDIT: [NOTE] - Everybody having a bash at the 'kids' just because I listed Call of Duty: Black Ops, you can just fuck off to another thread. I'll post what I want, fuck off.

Christmas is the perfect oppurtunity to pick some games up that you didn't have chance to get beforehand. Looking at the new release pages, there's alot in store for us. So lets take a look.

Halo: Reach
If you haven't already got this game or haven't had a chance to play this game, then by God send a letter to Santa Claus! This game is deffenitly one to have under the tree this year. I saw a change with this Halo. Even if you're not a fan of the Halo franchise, then you'll like this game.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock
The newest installment in the epic Guitar Hero series. Set for release...wait.. it's actually out! As of today, the 24th of September, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is available in all major retailing stores. Get this game while you can, you won't be dissapointed. This game has some major songs on the setlist.

Call of Duty: Black Ops
I told myself that I wouldn't get another Call of Duty game because I was dissapointed with Modern Warfare 2, but after looking into this game some more, I'm actually really anticipating the next installment. Black Ops is available in 46 days and looks to be a real treat. The online mode looks to be totally revamped, guns that shoot knives, crossbows that shoot sticky grenades - it's like Halo, Wolfenstein and Call of Duty all in one! Give Santa a ring.

Medal of Honor
At first, this game was set to be banned here in the United Kingdom because of the simple fact that the game lets you play as either side. So if we wanted, we could play as the Taliban and kill our own troops. Sounds fun, but all the ass-backwards politician's in the world wanted to ban it. But us gamers pulled through it and Medal of Honor is available in just 21 days! Like it's predecessors, Medal of Honor looks to be real competition for CoD.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Any fan of Assassin's Creed will already have researched this game months ago and already pleaded parents and partners alike to have this for Christmas. Only 56 days to go gamers! It's an essential game to add to any collection and with the new revamp of AC, this game looks like a real treat. There are many different characters available, a revamped online mode that lets you battle other assassin's and from different reports, the game has a similar engine to Star Wars: Battlefront. This brings me onto our next installment..

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2
Like it's prequel, no, not Episode 4, 5 or 6 - I mean Force Unleashed 1, Force Unleashed 2 looks to be one of the best games of the year, and it's only a month away from release. We still evidentially play as the hero, or villain, from Force Unleashed 1, Darth Vader's apprentice. There are seperate versions of the game, each with their own little pro's and con's - get this under yer' tree!

So, these are only a taste of what's in store this Christmas. Tell me Guys and Girls, what do you want Santa to put under your tree this Christmas?

The game im looking forward to the most isent even on the list. Im actually really looking forward to playing Donkey Kong Country Returns Iv played ever single on of the originals and loved them to death, I even enjoy the one on the 64. But this just looks like a return to form plus better, game play wise it looks the same as the ones on the Super nintendo. with some new features. Above all I cant wait to get my hands on this more than any other gaming coming out this season.

Halo Reach: I got it on launch day like most people, Fantastic game. I know there are an abundant amount of people of this site who really do care for halo, and I really dont care what they think. I enjoy it, Its so much fun to play online. Blast the series all you want as I dont care about your anti halo opinion.

Guitar hero: Meh iv never really been into those games. I prefer the real deal over simulation.

CoD: Iv lost all interest in the series after the first Modern Warfare. Lost a ton on respect for activision after the Infinity Ward incident. So I stopped playing.

Medal of Honor on the other hand looks interesting. Iv heard people just say oh its just another CoD, and it kinda does. hhaha plus all the heat its gaining makes me just want to play it even more. I'll rent it first before I decide wether or not its worth buying.

Assassins Creed Iv never could really get into. I just found the first game to be terrible, but I wanted to like it so I gave the second one a shoot to, again just couldnt really get into it. I like the idea of the game I just think the execution is poor.

Star wars: Not really a star wars fan so I have no opinion.

I will be looking forward to getting "Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals" on DS around Christmas, or at some point by then. I don't have much money to be spending on games these days, but that is the main game I am interested in this semester because it is a remake of one of the best RPG's from the SNES. It was ahead of its time and completely deserves this remake, I can't wait to play it. Getting it for Christmas would be pretty awesome, since I doubt I will be able to afford it until then.

Games that haven't been mentioned thus far:

Pssh you kids and your COD. Back in 1997 there was a game released on the N64 that took the world by storm. In 2009 the game won WZ's greatest game ever made tournament, in 2010 it was announced it would get a re release. Goldeneye is out in November and will be good fun to play online against peeps.

Epic Mickey Simply put, I don't know what to expect.

Plus there's the likes of DKcountry, Kirby and of course an alleged release of the 3DS.

Stay tuned Nintendo fans.

Seriously kids these days... They bring shame to actual video game fans. Cod is not good like seriously it's the same game over and over. Same concept with different guns, and a different war every time. Same with Halo only I respect Halo more for having a actual storyline that I can respect.

As for games i'll be looking at one will be the new Golden Sun game. Absolute huge fan of the series, love the storyline, and the characters. Been looking forward to a new game for years and years, and it's finally coming. Needless to say I cannot wait, and it should be a great game just like it's predecessors.

Epic Mickey, and the new Kirby game look amazing. They each have such an original concept especially the Kirby game. Only Nintendo could make a game where the main object of use is yarn, and make it look interesting as hell. It's going to be a great time for video game fans this christmas, and next year as well, and I am looking forward to it.

I want the new SVR game, I don't have last years so might as well get this years, it looks pretty good too.

I may get Medal of Honor, I like the Battlefield series and EA also makes that. I don't have any shooters on my 360 either, and COD has become garbage, so Medal of Honor should be a good game.

The game I'm most looking forward to getting, even though it's already out, is R.U.S.E. I love World War 2 games and RTS games, and this is a combination of both of those. The idea of using tactics to beat your opponent and not just who has the most buildings and can spit out the most troops the fastest makes this a must get for me.

I want to at least play Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, because I'm what you would call a Star Wars nerd. I know the first wasn't very good, but I liked it and this sequel should be better, hopefully.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Although I did find it to be a tad repetitious, I enjoyed both Assassin’s Creed I and II. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood looks to change the formula slightly eliminating the same objectives that were found in its predecessors. Having visited Rome several years ago in real life, I am very eager to fully explore Renaissance Rome. Finally, now that a multiplayer mode has been added, this title has the potential to revolutionize online stealth action gameplay.

Call of Duty: Black Ops
I’m torn on COD: Black Ops. While I enjoy the Call of Duty franchise, I originally had a very limited interested in Black Ops (much like I did with World at War). However, as we get closer to release date, and more information is released, my interest in purchasing this game on release date increases.

Black Ops has already shown and impressed me with some major additions to the multiplayer side of the game. There's a detailed theater mode, a complex leveling system, as well as new multiplayer modes to keep the franchise from becoming stale.

Costume Quest
Costume Quest is a PNS/Xbox Arcade is turn-based RPG that is almost a new take on a tower defense game. It has a nice art style, unique game play and has the sense of humor that can be found in all of Tim Schaefer's games.

Fallout: New Vegas
Confession: I have yet to play Fallout 3. Despite that, I have always had an interested in Fallout: New Vegas. I have yet to year one bad thing about the Fallout franchise, and a lot of people declare Fallout 3 one of the best games they have ever played. New Vegas has those same people thinking that it will be a better game than 3. My only problem now is if I should attempt to play 3 before the release of New Vegas.

Medal of Honor
Unlike Call of Duty: Black Ops, Medal of Honor has been on my game radar since it was first announced. Like Infinity Ward did with Call of Duty, EA is bringing its war franchise into modern times. EA is attempting find a balance between the feel of an blockbuster action movie, and realism.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
I have always enjoyed the Need for Speed franchise. I put hours upon hours into Need for Speed Undercover on the Playstation 2. A lot of people because to sour on the Need for Speed games, claiming that each new addition to the franchise was similar to the one before it. EA looked to change its formula by eliminating the police and returning to its roots. I missed the excitement of the cop pursuit and am very excited to see them return in Hot Pursuit.

Criterion, The minds behind the Burnout franchise are now responsible for Hot Pursuit. These guys are all about the thrill of the chase, and they're also brilliant at making one gorgeous looking racer.

The Sims 3
I, like a lot of people, got caught up playing The Sims when it was first released. Although The Sims have made appearances on gaming consoles before, they always lack a few features that can be found on the PC. EA seems to be doing everything to make Sims 3 just as feature-packed as any other version of the game.
Another reason I’m looking forward to this game, is that my wife also enjoyed playing The Sims so I look forward to her playing as she isn’t really into gaming. I know she would play The Sims 3, and this might be a way for her to get more into gaming.

Vanquish
I had no desired to play this game at a friend of mine mentioned that the demo was really enjoyable. I downloaded it at his advice and really enjoyed everything about it. It’s very much an over the top, third-person shooter, but is very exciting to play.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011
I haven’t played a Smackdown vs. Raw game since 2008. As the games are released each year, each one seem to be the same things rehashed over and over, and no update seemed to warrant the sixty dollar purchase. This years Smackdown vs. Raw, with the addition of the WWE Universe, will most likely be the next one I play.

You should attempt to, mainly because Fallout 3 is a great game. The story and the whole history to the Fallout universe is very interesting, and there is probably some things you'll miss in New Vegas canon wise, but that's already going to happen unless you've played the first two Fallouts as well.

I really don't know about it being better honestly. The only people it will be better for are the original/hardcore fans who complained about Fallout 3 not really being Fallout. People who love RPGs will also find it to be better, but the only thing the casual RPG/gamer will like better is probably the wider weapon selection and the addition of Iron Sights, and possibly a few features new features that show up in all sequels.

Call of Duty:Black Ops
Seriously, Call of Duty games, are great, I love them, and I will definitely get Black Ops

SvR 2011
I have all SvR games since 05, I am not missing this one!

FIFA 2011
See SvR, but longer :)

Kingdom Hearts BBS
I know it was released a while ago, but I can't afford it, it is definitely on my christmas list.

They are the main games I want, There are so many others that I wouldn't mind having!
