Which Free Agents would you like to see WWE bring in?

rge2010

Mid-Card Championship Winner
I read that Sting is out of contract. WWE are obviously interested but it looks unlikely he will ever come to WWE. If he did, it would be one of the biggest "moves" ever.

With the WCW themed HOF coming up at Wrestlemania (apparently) then I suppose you could argue a case for Kevin Nash, Booker T and Goldberg. Not too fussed for Kevin Nash, Booker T was always a good worker and Goldberg coming back would be huge! But the latter would only do the one match.

I would love to see The New Age Outlaws back aswell. A great tag team in the late 90s. Really think they could add propel interest back into the Tag division.

Cant really think of anyone else. Steve Blackman maybe.

I agree with the wrestling legends Sting and Goldberg. The fans would be happy if they came back to surprise them.

The way they would be involved in the current storylines should be left to the creative team but they should really be imaginative and leave the fans really happy.

Batista
I don't really think I need to do much explaining on this one. The RAW main event scene has a HUGE hole in it currently. Batista's heel role was phenomenal. He left when he was on top which suprised me a lot. If he would've stayed, there's no doubt he would've been the company's top heel. Sheamus would've made a great oppponent for him. I hope he comes back before long.

Big Daddy V
This is probably a suprising choice. One of my favorite big men. I realize he wasn't much of a wrestler. I realize he wasn't much of a talker. But I can't help my liking for him. His look and gimmick really impressed me. "The Mastodon" gimmick stuck out from most other and with WWE's lack of big men currently, he could've really filled a void in the Super heavyweight division. Put him on Smackdown and have him feud with Undertaker or Kane.

Shelton Baenjamin
Probably the most important wrestler I want back. He's been on of my more favorite superstars in a while. I diont really know why the WWE release him. Especially right now with this youth movement occuring right now. He could've trully benefited right now. Think of the phenomenal matches he could've put on. Guys like Jack Swagger, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, Tyson Kidd and many other fine athelets. If Shleton would've held on for a couple more months, he would've definitely been used.

Goldberg
Never really cared for him but I can't say it wouldn't be fucking awesome if Goldberg made some sort of return for maybe a spear or two.

I want Sting to come to WWE under a Legends contract, be inducted into this years Hall of Fame, and make an appearance at WM27, but not wrestle a single match as his in ring days in my opinion are long over. This way we could finally get a great Sting dvd collection and if he wanted to work backstage behind the scenes in some capacity I think he would be a great asset to the company. Also he would be an excellent spokesman and ambassador for WWE as well.

I think I would like the same for Kevin Nash as well, but it seems like that is less likely to happen. Batista coming back could be good to but also seems unlikely at this point and time.

Probably NO ONE

Goldberg is all hype no substance. His last run was pathetic highlighted by his end at WM and quite frankly there is no marquee match for him now

Sting one year ago I would have said yeah cuz we could still have the 90s dream match in Sting versus HBK but now that that is done what is there Sting-Hunter??? Sting-Cena???
Maybe a Sting -Take but it does not give me that woo moment

Sting is the only one I'd even consider, and that's only for a HoF induction and some candid interviews to add to their DVD collections. I thought it was genius how the Chris Jericho DVD had all these interviews with Eric Bischoff and Goldberg from back in 2002. So I'm sure Sting has a lot of interesting things to say that might be useful someday. But as far as wrestling, the only match I wouldn't mind seeing him in is against Undertaker.

Personally, I have no interest in seeing someone, anyone, sign with the WWE as a high priced free agent if they are not planning to stick around for an extended period of time. It has absolutely no appeal for me to see Sting appear in the WWE at this stage of his career, whether it be to face the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, or to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. If the Undertaker/Sting "dream match" could have happened a decade ago, it may have been interesting, but at this stage of their careers, I would rather not see this match ever occur. Plus, Sting has no business being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Strike this name off the list of desirable free agents if you ask me.

Not too much interest in seeing Goldberg either for largely the same reason. Past his prime, won't be sticking around in all likelihood, and personally I couldn't care less about the WCW-theme which is allegedly going to be associated with WM27. If they want to induct him into the Hall of Fame, that's OK because he spent some time and wrestled some matches in the big leagues already. He doesn't need to wrestle this year, just induct him, if that's what they decide to do, based upon his past accomplishments, not based upon a trip down memory lane this year.

Booker T, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, I have no interest in seeing any of them compete this year. The Hall of Fame could be an option for several of them, but no need to fill the WM27 card with legends and has beens, when the depth of their roster is as it is.

Hopefully, there'll be no Brock Lesnar this year either. After the way he left, tanking his match against Goldberg in a terribly disappointing display, he doesn't deserve the big pay day this appearance would earn him. Thanks, but no thanks.

Batista would be a free agent I wouldn't mind seeing return. After his hiatus, he may be interested in coming back. A return of the heel version of Batista, who likely would stick around, that would be appealing. A return of Chris Jericho would be nice too, as would a return of several injured guys (not free agents I realize) such as Christian, Evan Bourne, or Triple H (some of whom will likely have returned before this).

I believe the roster in WWE these days, with the potential feuds brewing, is solid enough to put off a successful Wrestlemania 27. They don't need nostalgia, as some organizations do, to sell this card.

I'm not sure if they would be considered free agents or not, but I would love to see the Kings of Wrestling in WWE. Personally, I think the ROH tag champs are even better than Beer Money.

As far as the WCW guys go, sure, I would like to see Sting make one run in the WWE. With wrestlemania being in atlanta this year the WWE should have one match featuring all the old WCW guys. Put Sting, Nash, Steiner, Booker, and Goldberg against a group of cocky young WWE bred heels that don't have anything going on. With a match like this people would still get to see their old favorites, but they would actually have to wrestle that long

I wouldn't mind if they took up Goldberg because I was one of the idiots who chanted "Goldberg" everytime he came out even though I kinda know he isn't really the greatest wrestler, he actually breaks people in half most the time -.^. Other than that, probably no one, maybe Sting if they decide to have HBK back or have him against Taker? Tbh I'd rather Sting was inducted into the WCW type HOF than get a contract.

Batista
Batista had hit a massive boring streak until his refreshing heel turn. He became rejuvenated, his character was interesting once again, and I actually found myself once again becoming a fan of The Animal. A return of a heel Batista could bring a much needed personality to RAW or SmackDown.

Chris Jericho
I'm not sure of his status as a wrestler, however Y2J is another wrestler that could bring a much needed heel back into WWE. Whether he works the mid-card or main event, Y2J has never been above not only putting wrestlers over, but making them look great as well as teaching them to tell a great story in the ring. There's a reason he calls himself The Best at What He Does. Because he is!

Taylor Wilde
Taylor Wilde is a great wrestler and easy on the eyes. She's a perfect fit in a Divas division desperately needing a shot in the arm. The Divas are presented as Smart, Sexy, and Powerful, and Taylor brings all three to the table. Taylor has had great matches in TNA with Awesome Kong and against The Beautiful People. Potential matches between Michelle McCool, Natalya, Beth Phoenix, and Melina could re-energize a Divas division that is seen as nothing more than a bathroom break.

John "Bradshaw" Layfield
I know this has about as much likelihood of happening as Hulk Hogan selling TNA and returning to WWE. However, JBL is a great veteran, another natural born heel, and gold on the mic. JBL could start immediate feuds with anyone in WWE: The Miz, Alberto del Rio, John Cena, CM Punk...anyone would be a great match with JBL. And if JBL doesn't return as a wrestler, JBL could replace Matt Striker on the announcer's table. JBL truly is a WRESTLING GOD!

Those are the four I can come up with. Others, such as Booker T, Kevin Nash, and Sting would make great one-time appearances or part-time workers. I would love to see those three inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame. Harlem Heat deserve a spot!

Shelton Benjamin.. I really think that in this era of wrestling wrestlers, people who can put on clinics in the ring Shelton would have a rightful place. Like someone has said the matches Shelton could put on with some of the current roster would be just phenomenal.. Just imagine the MITB with him and the other probably MITB contenders from the roster. It would be gold. Just like Shelton Benjamin.

Free Agents is sort of a false term in wrestling. A free Agent doesnt wrestle for any other promotion(much like in sports a free agent doesn't play for any other team.) So the "market" for free agents is pretty weak. Also in these terms Shelton Benjamin(or Charlie Haas) aren't free agents since they now will be reguarly appearing in Ring Of Honor.

ROH is too small to have wrestlers on an exclusive contract, so technically Ring Of Honor. EVOLVE, DGUSA, ect. Aren't technically free agents.

So to answer the question...I guess Sting is the only one that would really mean anything. He can still wrestle at a mediocre level(which is better than most 50 year olds) but more importantly he would draw interest. Seeing him in one match would be worth the payoff.

i fully expect sting to be part of the HOF, i would not be surprised to see him win the royal rumble but turn down a title shot to wrestle taker.

the timing of stings contract is not a coincidence imo

Jericho will be back at some point in the next 2 years when thet time is right.
Booker T is really the only other guys from the 90's that can still wrestle and entertain. If he came back for a short stint to put over a young talent that could be tolerable.

Trevor Murdoch - I used to like that guy.

JBL coming back would be awesome to see, either as a wrestler or (more likely) as a commentator. His heel abilities on the mic were classic & he knows how to piss off the crowd. His wrestling wasn't bad either, but knowing how beaten up his back is I feel he won't be wrestling if he did return. Replacing Matt Striker would be a good option for him.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kevin Nash or Booker T back either, on part time schedule of course. They'd bring valuable experience to WWE's young roster & put on some good matches.

Goldberg, I feel wasn't finished with what he was doing in WWE. I feel that he could have done more than what he's done already. So seeing him back would be nice to see, preferably to see him spear Cole & make us all mark out hugely & set up a match with a dominant heel possibly for Wrestlemania if he's up for it.

SID, SID, SID!

Bring him in the same way they used him in ECW, have him brought out to destroy people but no matches. Helping guys then doing his pscho gimmick and beat up the guys he helped. Do this awhile to build him then make his first match mean something. Really I think you could bring him in to make good money for awhile, then have him lose like a retirement match and lose to a young guy to put him over.

Lash Leroux, Scott Norton, Evan Keragias, Alex Wright, Disco Inferno, Glacier, Buff Bagwell, rick Steiner, Ernest Miller, Norman Smiley, Barry Darsow... Oh we're not just naming old wcw wrestlers that we haven't heard from in forever. Honestly, I don't think I would like to see any big name "Free Agent" come in. This is 2011 and there is no need to redo the 90s heyday over and over again. If they want to bring Sting in for a one time only HOF induction ceremony then fine. Other than that leave these old guys alone. If Vince and co. want to make a splash then try to pluck Williams and Styles off the TNA roster and invade ROHs talent ,just leave the old guys alone nobody wants to see them anymore

If i had to pick three guys to come either in or back into the WWE this is whom I would choose.

1. Sting- Other then Bret Hart coming back into the WWE, this is really the only thing left in wrestling that hasn't be done yet. Its very possible this could happen in the future. Maybe a 6 month contact is in the future for Sting, but who knows.

2. Ultimate Warrior- Again to a Bret Hart reference, nobody ever though we'd see the hitman back in the wwe and boom. Although money would def be a factor in this situation, never say never. After all, he just did wrestle about three years ago.

3. Ken Shamrock- This guy was awesome in the WWE in the late 90's and I think he would be awesome again if he came back. Its funny because after his fight with Tito a few yrs back, it grabbed Vince's attention and said hey maybe we should bring him back. Even though Shamrock is almost 50, I could still see him in the WWE and get in the ring with guys like Cena, Orton, Edge, Taker, Miz and more. Crazier things have happened in the WWE.

I can't think of anyone out there that the WWE needs to get after. I think there are a few interesting people that may be on the market for a job in the WWE, but I can't really tell you what difference they would make.

The only person the WWE should hire, in my opinion, is a non-wrestling personality to be the RAW GM. This mystery GM angle is starting to drive me nuts, and I honestly think the WWE is just jerking us around until they find someone because they have nobody for it. It's very possible that they've had someone in mind all along, but the WWE tends to make their storylines very flexible, so having a guy in mind all along would kind of go against common practice.

I could imagine them hiring an older wrestler to be the GM, one that can still do a good job on the mic and keep up with the travel. Now I have NO idea who they would hire at this point, perhaps Roddy Piper, but for Piper's sake I hope that he doesn't sign on. He's old, he's been through a lot, and he doesn't owe the WWE anything. However, I'm sure there are plenty of ex-wrestlers out there who would be chomping at the bits to have a chance to get back in the squared circle, even if it's just to talk on the mic, and the WWE should invest in one of those guys for the mystery GM.

STING: Not as a wrestler... Sign him to a legends contract. Induct him into the Hall of Fame this year and maybe let him wrestle one match. I don't want to see him over do it like Flair or Hogan.

JBL: I don't want to see him as a wrestler either but I don't think he could comentate these days. He's a good announcer but cussed every other word. He would have to work on that. I would like to see him as a manager. I would want him to be paired with a young guy and claim that young guy is his protogey and will be the next JBL. It could be Del RIo but of course JBL hates mexicans so that wouldn't work. I think Ted Dibiase would work well with him as his manager. I think Ted could learn a lot from him and they both have a rich snobby gimmick. JBL could even work a few tag matches with him.

Shelton Benjamin: He is really athletic and I thought he would go far in WWE but I guess I was wrong. I think he would make a great world champion because he can put on a hell of a match. His promos weren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be. I think he could have a decent run with the World Title on Smackdown.

I want Sting to sign a legends contract so we can get a 3 disc set! but I wonder if Sting prefers to be the only major star of the last 3 decades not to work for Vince. than he does a spot in the HOF. I really can't think what match they could use him in though.

I'd love to see Nash as a surprise entrant in the Rumble but in truth I think long term he'd be ideal revealed as the mystery GM. Nash's strength has always been mic work and I think he could add something to Raw in that role.

Shelton would be a good call-back, the mid-card is good right now and he'd add extra depth to it.

My last choice would be Shad Gaspard, he's a good athlete and has the size and look to be a star, plus he's articulate with a legit background as a bodyguard. I think there is a lot more WWE can do with him than we saw in his brief singles push.

If he's ever well enough I'd love to see Scott Hall but I don't think it'd ever happen. It'd be cool to see Ken Shamrock again too but I guess he may be a bit old now too. Also, I'd really like to see Mike Knox back - his character was just getting interesting when he was future endeavoured.

If the HOF inductions this year are going to be WCW based the signing - s i would like to see are

Sting

just like everyone else wants to see. I think a sting taker match would be great at WM27 as I think creative has a hard task of keeping the streak line going ( IMO it's boring to just hear year after year "i'm going to end the streak" from some superstar) the only thing that you have to remember if STING signs is that it is not 1998 anymore....

NASH/HALL

I would like to seen them signed for the sole purpose of putting them in the HOF. Lets face it, it was them that put WCW in the spotlight. No "invasion" no monday night wars. And afterwards to use nash as a the GM could be cool.

No one else stands out to me. Roster looks good IMO so no need to overload with talent that will eventually be released again anyway...

i fully expect sting to be part of the HOF, i would not be surprised to see him win the royal rumble but turn down a title shot to wrestle taker.

the timing of stings contract is not a coincidence imo

Can you imagine Sting as number 30 in the Rumble? That would be the biggest shock of all time in my opinion!

The crowd would go nuts. Well, the over 18s anyway.

Nobody. even though it might bump up the ratings for a few weeks it will die down again. they need to continue what they're doing now. Focus on creating new names rather then bringing back old ones. Shelton? No way there wasn't anybody more overrated. Sting? It's not going to happen. and if he did comeback just for wrestlemania or even he road to wrestlemania, it's not going to make much of an impact.
